His 247 page is wonky. He's committed to Wisconsin, but his crystal ball says 88% Indiana, 12% Michigan.

I thought he was an Indiana lean earlier who flipped to Wisconsin but upon further research he was an Indiana commit who flipped to Wisconsin in November.  So that's why the crystal ball page is like that.

http://www.buckys5thquarter.com/wisconsin-football-recruiting/2014/11/1…

Also confirms he was recruited as a CB for Wisconsin.  He sounds like a burner with legit 4.4 speed.  Again if he is going to be a RB in the Big 10 getting to 190 lb plus would help.  His 247 page has him at 172 but this story has him at 182.

Booker brings to the table the kind of size (6'0, 182 lbs.) and athleticism (SPARQ-verified 40 time at 4.41, and state-level 100m sprinter's speed) that had kept him on the Badgers' radar since an impressive performance in summer camp. In fact, reports were that when he was offered at camp, he was ready to commit ($) on the spot, but there were reasons the Badgers hesitated to accept. Now with the academic i's and t's seemingly crossed, he joins X'Zaviae Ausborne and Takadrae Williams as commits at the cornerback position.

I am going to go ahead and call it now - congratulations to Ausborne for having one of those relatively rare names where if you search it in Google, there is no one other than you in the results for at least the first 10 pages or so, and you don't even need to put quotes around the search to specify exact matches.

Booker was an Indiana commit who flipped to Wisconsin not that long ago.

He's a pure speed guy, finished second in state in 100 yard dash last spring. Don't think he's a shifty RB or anything like that. High school team played pretty weak competition and he was injured late in the year.

It also says he committed to Wisconsin before he visited.  Sounds like perhaps he was committed to Indiana, but immediately jumped at the opportunity to move to a "biggger" program... hopefully the same will be the case with the Michigan offer.

He was a heavy Indiana lean all summer who looks like he flipped to Wisconsin in November.  Not going to say a lightly recruited guy like this is Tevin Coleman or Melvin Gordon but those teams have been pretty good with RB acquisition of late.  I dont know what Wisconsin was recruiting him for though- it might have been CB.  At 170 lbs he needs to put on some lbs to be in that RB role.

Outside of Wisconsin only non MAC offer are Iowa, Kentucky, Indiana.

Looks like he visited UK last weekend.

It's an odd strategy.  He is committed to Wisconsin as a CB and he prefers to play CB in college, yet we come in at the 11th hour and offer as a RB?  Also odd given how we are probably going 0 for 3 on our CB targets.

I don't know whether the staff is looking at him as a RB or CB, but if its the latter, it means nothing re: Weber.

It's possible, but he had an Iowa visit scheduled previously. The other kids who have canceled officials seem to have done so because of some pressure from the school they're already committed to. In this case, it looks like he's set on taking a visit, period - it's just a matter of whether it's to Iowa or Michigan.

That's good news.  He sounds like (maybe its just boilerplate recruit talk) academics and tradition matter so on that end we've got it covered.  And unless someone gets on campus I dont think we'd have a real chance.  Let's hope this is not like the UCLA CB who was going to visit and 2 hrs later does not.

And while he committed to Gary Anderson, Aranda was the DC and Chryst retained Aranda so if he is going to play CB for Wisconsin he was not really affected by the staff change much.

That said - HARBAUGH.

Another story here on his flip:

http://highschoolcubenews.com/2014/11/16/beth-longs-weekly-recruiting-r…

“I had a good talk with an old friend who is a Badger, T.J. Edwards, and it’s also close to my hometown so my parents can watch me play. Also, the education and tradition is top-notch,” Booker said.

Scout.com national recruiting analyst Allen Trieu projects Booker to play corner as a Badger and thinks he is a good fit for the defense in Madison.

“I like Titus a lot. Corners with length and speed are rare and he’s one of the few like that in the Midwest this year,” Trieu said. “I’d be surprised if he didn’t end up a starter for Wisconsin at some point.”

It looks like we are going after guys who can play multiple positions. A lot of guys are TE/DE types and now we are going after a RB/CB. At this point, it looks like Harbaugh wants some versatility.

Harbaugh offered him a fifth year and he declined.  JH had visions of a player with Justice Hayes skill set on the roster

this guy sounds like he could fill that void.

I think this has little to do with M. Weber

We lose every RB not named Ty Isaac after 2016.  So there is plenty of room - nothing to do with Justice who would be gone after 2015.  We need to reload RBs.  Now it is a position you can play early (Nick Chubb) so an elite 2016 RB could challenge right away for playing time (or a 2017 RB) but right now we have 1 RB on the roster 2 years from now - getting 1 in this class would be good and probably 2 are going to be in next year's class.

Don't most top level running backs in high school have the speed to bounce everything outside in high school?  The catch is that when they hit college, the speed of the defenders has increased and bouncing everything outside doesn't work nearly as often as it did in high school.

Saw this kid play about all of his high school career as we live in the same area, I had friends at his school he had friends at mine. He really impressed against the teams in his conference, but his conference was weak. His Junior and Senior year they made the playoffs at 8-1 or 9-0 and then got hammered against the legit competition. I thought it was a fluke when he committed to Indiana.. Then it got strange when Wisco offered (where he obviously eventually flipped) Now Michigan offered? Nothing against the kid but he's not good enough to see the field at Michigan. Harbaugh must be going for numbers.

"Nothing against the kid but he's not good enough to see the field at Michigan."

I disagree. A kid like this can certainly see the field in some capacity, whether it's at corner, running back, slot receiver, or returning kicks. Maybe he'll never be a star, but I think you're overestimating what it takes to "get on the field."

This just gets more bizzare.  Would have accepted on the spot if offered as a CB.  I hope that means Harbaugh feels good about our CB offers.

How many scholarships are remaining for the 2015 class?  Harbaugh might not be able to use all of them this year unless he starts offering MAC level athletes.
