I am guessing this has more to do with Michigan pursuing Costello and Eason than DeWeaver wanting to pursue another school.

We should not be surprised that there are some recruiting changes with Harbaugh coming in. Harbaugh is not Hoke. Harbauigh is going to be interested in some different recruits, and some recruits that were interested in Hoke will not be comfortable with Harbaugh and his direction for their position.

In the absence of outight shitty behavior of some kind or other, when do you not wish 17-year-old children well in the biggest decision of their lives to date?
January 28th, 2015 at 8:24 AM ^
Agreed. I'm concerned he will end up at Notre Dame. With Touchdown Jesus and him at quarterback -- NBC will pee their pants.

Opens the door for a top 2016 qb to come to Michigan. I think it's a mistake as Harbaugh is the top QB mind in the country period but the competition will be stiff. Best of luck to Messiah.
January 27th, 2015 at 10:22 PM ^
made him go away. . .
which is fine. But he knows who JH is, I can't believe that he thinks he won't learn from Harbaugh's tutelage.

that dude always seemed juiced to enroll at michigan and i doubt his enthusiasm wavered much given the programs current aura. im guessing harbaugh gave the kid his honest opinion and his vision for qb position at michigan moving forward and they agreed to mutually part ways.
color me shocked if the dude told harbaugh no thanks, he sees greener pastures elsewhere. the kids not an elite qb and frankly he was lucky to receive an offer so early from hoke. maybe he wouldve competed and started on hokes michigan teams but harbaughs teams will be a different animal. best of luck to the kid though, seems like a solid cat

Some of you people need to stop looking at fricken rankings and form you own opinions. LOOK AT THE FILM YOURSELF!
This is not a big loss my no means. It does not take Tom Brady to look at his clips and wonder why he was offered in the first place.
January 28th, 2015 at 9:51 AM ^
...and I've never felt his film does him justice. I think his head's going to take him farther than a lot of QB's who show more physical talent on film.
January 28th, 2015 at 10:05 AM ^
I would bet money by your own genius film analysis you'd not have thought him worthy of coming to Michigan or getting drafted in the NFL either.
January 28th, 2015 at 12:36 PM ^
or maybe he read the writing on the wall with us taking two 4-star QBs in this class and looking at a few other 5-stars in the next. He may prefer to go somewhere where eventual playing time is more of a thing.

Really liked DeWeaver.
Sure hope he doesn't end up at Staee, but I wish him well wherever he decides to play.

The OC that has been recruiting him to UGA is no longer there, right? If he's so firm with UGA, why is he meeting with Harbaugh and others?
He may very well end up at UGA, but it doesn't mean he's so solid right now.
EDIT: re: Bobo, it's already been mentioned below. My bad.

When Harbaugh visits, he will be as solid as a rock of jello.

"@UGAfootballLive: Jim Harbaugh is flying in to talk to #UGA commit and Lake Stevens QB Jacob Eason. Currently the top overall prospect in c/o. Back off Jim!"

As solid as they come? Georgia just lost their OC and hired Brian Schottenheimer, who has helmed some of the worst offenses in the NFL. Even without that development, I don't think you can call any out-of-state, non-legacy verbal commitment during a junior year "as solid as they come."

And usually most of these recruiting stories are always slanted to the school site that is doing the interview. At this time last year, Ricky Town was committed to Alabama, Blake Barnett was committed to ND, Jarrett Stidham was committed to Texas Tech, and Brandon Wimbush was committed to Penn State. All were saying they were not wavering in their commitments. Look where they are now. Same with Kyler Murray who may flip from Texas A&M to Texas at the last minute. It's high school kids facing an extremely tough life choice: many of them will grow during a year or two and change their mind.
