He was willing to do so in 2007 and 2011.
And if you are asking that question, why would Kirby Smart leave a good thing at Bama? I answered it for you already under your post, by the way.

Les should come here, give us 6 good years and buy a condo in Florida next to some M buddies after. Would be great.

Too old. Gundy is a long term option.

From the Old Big 8 days (yes, i was at OU during this period):
Oklahome Sate Univ is NOT OSU but rather O State. this is to avoid confusion with the OSU that we are more familiar with.
Als
o, Kansas State is K State.

Given the program's current state I think people would gladly contribute to growing a yard of fresh grass every week for Les to stand on while on the sideline on Saturdays...

Coach Dave Brandon

No, he asked about the next head coach...not the current head coach.

Shaw, I know it's not likely but he's my ideal fit outside of Harbaugh
October 1st, 2014 at 9:21 PM ^
So you like punting, do ya?
At least they'd punt from the 29 out of the spread punt and would have 11 guys on the field.

Man that sounds delicious. I'd take a "Lloyd Carr frustrating" coach if it came along with the "always contending for Big Ten titles" that Lloyd brought.

against State in the Rose Bowl on 4th and 1 against a stacked line? I was stuck in Winter Classic, ice storm traffic so I had to listen to the game. But it sounded like they ran a super conservative gameplan, especially on their last offensive play of the game.

Why does his name keep coming up? He isn't leaving Alabama unless it is for Mark Richt's job.
October 2nd, 2014 at 12:03 AM ^
After Mark Richt comes to MIchigan.
Why? Mark Richt will be forced out after losing control of Todd Gurley, who will actually run through the back of the stadium, smashing building and cars in his wake, until coming to rest at an endzone somewhere in a deserted high school field in North Carolina.

I hear he knows what it takes to beat Oregon.

I'd take him back in a New York second as long as Casteel comes with him this time. After all - he IS a "Michigan man" now so we'd be allowed to hire him now wouldn't we?
October 1st, 2014 at 9:36 PM ^
a respectable defense and special teams? O-kay.

either.

David Brandon hired the DC's and only gave Rich Rod $350,000 or whatever. Does anyone really think RR and a competent AD couldn't find a decent DC if he was allowed the same $1 million Brandon decided to pay Mattison?
RR is 4-0 right now and will probably be 4-1 after this weekend''s game against Oregon. Michigan could easily be 2-4 in an easier conference.
Why can't we get guys like that?

at least on the football field. Morris could run his offense, we have talented defensive players for a Casteel-run 3-3-5. Off the field, however, is where the trouble starts, and probably ends the same way it did before.
October 1st, 2014 at 9:38 PM ^
Rich Rodriguez was a disaster here. Both his defense and special teams were ATROCIOUS. Nothing at Arizona indicates that anything has changed.
The man simply is not cutout at coaching at a program with UM's level of expectations. Zona is a middling football school with moderate expectations.8-5 is good enough there. That isn't the case here.
October 1st, 2014 at 9:54 PM ^
at this juncture, 4 wins would be a great accomplishment...I think he could live up to those expectations...I mean he already did
October 1st, 2014 at 10:08 PM ^
have not been good. Wile has missed field goals. Hagerup has had too many bad punts. We've given up a lot of return yards. All this and the season is still young.
October 1st, 2014 at 11:31 PM ^
and may be looking even better by the time this season is done. A lot better.
October 2nd, 2014 at 8:45 AM ^
He finally got rid of Tony Gibson. It has made a difference there. Arizona's first defense under RichRod was worse than his 2010 Michigan defense by 40 yards per game, which boggles the mind. It's tragic that RichRod had to throw away an opportunity of a lifetime in order to come to grips with the fact that his drinking buddy was sinking his career.
So much pain. So many harsh lessons learned.
October 2nd, 2014 at 10:01 AM ^
Don't let facts get in the way of you bias. You're on the internet!!! Did RR know how to field a decent defense and special teams while at West Virginia? Then he forgot when he got here? Use some common sense. Was it the defensive backfield of a walk on, converted WR, OLB and a freshmen or was it the coach? Hmmm.
October 2nd, 2014 at 12:27 PM ^
That was his defensive backfield in 2010? must have missed that. Al borges had a productive offense at san diego state. The big east is like a half step better than the MAC winning there means you can move up to a mid level program and thats about it.
October 1st, 2014 at 9:42 PM ^
He has Casteel with him now and they still suck on defense
