Per Balas, Michigan, media gathering evidence on PIs
Article not paywalled
"Several sources at Michigan and in the media tell TheWolverine.com they are gathering evidence on two private investigators they believe are behind the investigation into U-M’s alleged illegal on-site scouting. The same sources also believe the two are responsible for the media leaks that have kept the story in the news for weeks"
Didn't see this on the board. Haven't posted in many years. Please be gentle

I remember the topic, just not the upvote count.

That barely overtook the 100 upvote mark by the end.

I guess this thread is truly overtaking ass.
So im kind of correct?
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:39 PM ^
Overtaking ass has never stopped happening.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:42 PM ^
Nor should it. It’s an enduring commitment ensuring the ass stays overtook.

Been away too long to appreciate all the upvotes like I would have years ago, but I'll still have an extra beer tonight for the good vibes!

Brothers of Ryan Day, Christopher Day and Timothy Day? Hold on to your butts.

The confrontational energy for the OSU game is going to be off the charts.
The stakes for other Michigan-OSU games in the past 45 years since 1978 have been as high, but I think you have to go back to the days of Bo vs Woody for two coaches who are as hated by the opponent as Harbaugh and Day are.
What makes this different is that the personal animosity between Harbaugh and Day far exceeds what existed between Bo and Woody, who basically had great respect for each other. Harbaugh will never speak at a dinner honoring Ryan Day like Bo did for Hayes, for example.

Nothing has ever been like this. Michigan needs to win to not only accomplish their lofty goals, but to shut everyone up, mostly the OSU fan base who is lock step in yelling that the last 2 years are completely attributable to this (they aren't, try blocking Hutchinson, or tackling Edwards). If we don't, the shit that will be said afterwards nationwide will be unbearable.
Ryan Day desperately needs to win because he basically just told the entire country the last two years are completely attributable to this. The way he has handled it to try and get Harbaugh fired like a petulant bed wetting child puts the pressure completely on him. If we kick their ass I feel bad for the 90 year old man Ryan Day will find to scream at afterwards about how tough he is.
November 3rd, 2023 at 1:53 PM ^
I agree. There's a good chance that this is the biggest OSU-UM game ever played. I don't say that lightly.
November 3rd, 2023 at 1:58 PM ^
If both Michigan and OSU are undefeated and still ranked somewhere in the top 4 for the playoff, it's an easy argument to make.
The TV ratings will be absolutely enormous, and SignGate—regardless of how bogus it is—will draw in plenty of viewers who otherwise don't give a shit about college football, or The Game.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:01 PM ^
I think this might have been the whole point all along.
I'm wondering what the ratings were the this year's MSU game knowing that the Spartans are hot garbage this year.
Winters shooting his mouth off before tomorrow's game.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:09 PM ^
Agreed. The old TV numbers are goj g to get blown away. The Game this year is going to put numbers in the Super Bowl area. Here for it all to go down!
November 3rd, 2023 at 4:12 PM ^
It’s all “entertainment” now. We’ve entered WWE territory.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:49 PM ^
The Game was already the most watch football matchup of 2022 (17.1 million), 4 million ahead of the second place finished (UT vs UGA)...willing to bet we could double it this year if we're both undefeated.
November 3rd, 2023 at 3:04 PM ^
I say that if the Big Ten decides to punish Michigan now and ban them from the Conference Champ game, then Michigan should skip the OSU game (the real Championship game anyways).
If you are going to punish us now, then punish us NOW…
Warde would never do this, but maybe Ono has balls just big enough to throw Michigan not playing OSU on the table…
November 3rd, 2023 at 4:01 PM ^
There are worse ideas than this, but not a whole lot of em.
November 3rd, 2023 at 4:08 PM ^
I understand what you're saying, but the chance to spoil OSU's season is too big to miss.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:02 PM ^
Which is why there’s zero chance there will be any punishment levied this season - this has the potential to be the highest rated college game ever.
November 3rd, 2023 at 5:48 PM ^
What are the chances they shake hands after The Game? Vegas will surely have a betting line for it. I’m guessing Day goes straight to the locker room to cry.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:02 PM ^
Don't put this all on Ryan Day. I don't think for a moment that he did this in a vacuum. The AD was definitely involved. And, based on Gordon Gee's comments about Tressel having more power than he does, it wouldn't surprise me if this low blow went to the highest levels of the OSU administration. Football runs that school.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:16 PM ^
Agree, the desperate need to win level is 100 for the rest of the season.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:56 PM ^
Nah -- assuming we beat Purdue and Penn State then I don't think Maryland matters...as long as we beat OSU.
November 3rd, 2023 at 3:08 PM ^
Sooo true. A lot is at stake for these next 4 games. Some ass kicking of whiny bitch teams after all of this.
November 3rd, 2023 at 3:19 PM ^
A lot of the OSU fan base knows they are likely to lose to Michigan, perhaps badly…again. They are calling for Michigan to be banned from completing the season and are already saying that they can’t win because we have gained such a tremendous advantage over the past three years. Apparently, they can’t possibly change their signs because it would take an eternity and there just isn’t enough practice time. It is hilarious that they don’t know that everyone knows their signs are being stolen (because it is completely within the rules) and everyone takes measures to address it.
November 3rd, 2023 at 4:51 PM ^
In all fairness, the guys on their roster ain't come to play school. Not the brightest box of crayons, you know...
November 3rd, 2023 at 6:24 PM ^
Not only that, but according to one of their savants, everyone murders and steals.
November 3rd, 2023 at 4:52 PM ^
Maybe we should cancel the game for the safety of the children.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:16 PM ^
I'm looking forward to the post-game handshake as much as I am to the game. Either it's just not going to happen or it's going to be 10x the Harbaugh/Schwartz handshake.
November 3rd, 2023 at 2:24 PM ^
Hoping for a post game bowl-over by Harbaugh
