That was pretty impressive.  He has equaled their win total for last year, on the road against a ranked team.

Colorado has some pretty ridiculous athletes at the skill position.  They are going to beat some folks.

His kid threw for 500+ yards - that's impressive against anyone.

They'll fit right in Big 12 - no D league.

Beat a ranked team on the road - an amazing start, considering all their turnover.

They clearly have weapons and a very dangerous QB - even Sanders haters have to grudgingly agree that was an amazing first game.

Gonna be a ton of buzz in Boulder.

Colorado went all-in on Coach Prime in order to rebuild their program... so far they have to be feeling pretty good about the decision.

I do think he will do pretty well there over the next several years.

And then bolt to something bigger.

Already thought that TCU was a fraud going into the season, but despite that didn't think they would lose today. Guess they're even bigger frauds than I gave them credit for, especially their "defense". Gave up 45 to Colorado? Is Alex Grinch also running the Frogs defense in his free time?!? Going to be a bit of fools gold now, as Buffs will likely start 3-0 (Nebraska and CSU next) and then get smashed against Oregon week 4 - hype train will become unbearable

Colorado won ONE game last year.

If they win the next two (as you predict) they'll probably be ranked going into the Oregon game. IMO there's no rational way to consider that anything short of wildly successful.

Pretty much their entire team is new - just to line up and play competently is impressive.

I'm neither a Deion lover or hater - but wow, that was quite a start.

Is CU “the real deal”? I don’t know what you mean by that. I doubt they are CFP contenders, but they are definitely much better.

Also, TCU is not very good. They lost a lot from their team last year, and that team had several narrow escapes. I suspect that TCU is a 9-3 team at best this year, more likely 8-4. Regardless, a very good win for CU.

9-3 or 8-4 is a good record. That doesn’t mean the team is good. The Big 12 is hot garbage, so they have a chance to get some wins. They had lots of really good players last year and were very lucky not to win 4 games at the last second. This team is substantially worse.

That said, I agree that this was a great win for CU.

Sorry I was rushing to post and didn't add a lot of context.

Before the season everyone seemed to dump on him as not a good coach and only succeeded at a HBC due to importing superior athletes not seen normally at that level.

They then further dumped on him for turning over most of his roster to the point where I believe only 37 scholarship players remained at one point.

Real deal meaning able to coach and succeed at a higher level despite not having those same advantages at a P5 school.

Sure, he may be more of a CEO type and figurehead but GOD do those players want to win for him.

Much remains to be seen but I'm starting to believe.

Maybe, but they both could end up 3-9 this year, so still out.

There’s something to be said about throwing for 500+ yards and having four different 100+ yard receivers against anyone though.

During our game , I said “JJ is going to be a problem this year for the haters “

and

“ Deion is  going to be a problem for the next 5 years for the haters”

The people that don’t like him are opposing fans from when he played and white people , and neither one of those demographics mean shit in winning college football games.
No doubt he can recruit because of clout , and after today , it appears he can coach.

You know there are tons of white people rooting for Prime to succeed, right? Most of their fanbase is white as well as the media that was groveling over him all week. He’s not at an HBCU school now, he’s either going to succeed or fail based on what he does as a program, not his race or his hater’s race.

I have not done polling data, so Would you consent to : Overall in the African American community he would be viewed more positively than the White community? Furthermore young athletic African American males would consider being recruited by him a positive, perhaps even deciding factor ? That’s my generalization. I enjoy him and his personality, it’s refreshing to hear interviews without feigned modesty, and I thoroughly enjoyed what happened today.

I am a Black man who grew up in Detroit, lives in Northern California and has family roots in Atlanta. Literally every Black person in my family and in my social circle is rooting for Coach Prime.

Why? Mainly because we are so familiar with the subtle digs, the doubts about ability, damning with faint praise, backhanded/begrudging compliments and other attempts to undermine success in our own lives and careers. It’s a dynamic that marks almost every Black coach at major college and NFL levels, but it’s also one that the Black pilot/architect/physician/data scientist knows all too well.

Additionally, we don’t tend to carry the same level of disdain for Prime’s style. In most Black circles, self-promotion is not discouraged, and is sometimes openly encouraged. Many of us grew up in churches where men in flashy suits who sounded a lot like Deion Sanders preached prosperity gospel. It’s familiar…even reassuring.

Max Duggan made TCU what they were. Jury is still out on Prime and Colorado but they will at least be interesting to keep an eye on. They lack size and talent but they are fast and exciting and play hard.

So much hate for coach Prime on this site I don't get.

He is fun just like coach Leach and not boring.

I had CO 4-8 and losing today by 2+ TDs. But Jesus so much hate for this guy who has only been a winner. Hall of Fame NFL and starter in baseball.  Name anyone aside Bo Jackson close in 2 sports at elite level. Jordan wasnt.  Guy chopped off 2 toes so he could get back with his team 3 weeks early.

CO still going to struggle this yr but I hope he gets that team to high level in 3 yrs after tuck coming ran it into the ground and moves on to a top 10 job. Why is anyone against this guy.  It's the media fault he is hyped up not his.  Blue hairs clutching pearls including a lot on this site are hating on him. It's a joke.  Root for variety.

Yeah it’s weird how much hate he gets. Is he polarizing , sure, but he has been that way from day 1 of his playing career , and now coaching career. So what did everyone expect?

i mean, that outcome was a Big12 game as we all have known them for a while now….and both defenses looked god awful, but they still got that W. So good for them.

Colorado will be entertaining to watch…will win some eye popping games, but then will lose some games that will be headscratchers.

And Now teams have tape on how his team will play, who to watch out for, adjustments will be made and good football will be had.

I'm impressed how coherent they were on offense; defense was awful.  Also, TCU shouldn't have been ranked, but still a big win for CU.  I am all for rooting for the Buffs, I just can't stand Sanders and so it's hard to be too excited.

Will say that Travis Hunter looked amazing in this game but you can't expect him to play 129 plays every weekend.  Will be interesting to see how he plays in the coming weeks and if CU doesn't need to rely on him that much.

Credit to Prime's kid and a few of their skill position players. Nice road win.

Next week hosting Nebraska couldn't feature two teams with more different offences and defenses.
