Recruit Michael Uini trending to Georgia
Crystal balls trending heavy to Georgia - only could find a short blurb on Diehard Sports, but its being reported in a bunch of places. Dagger.

Steve Windings put his to Georgia too - any insiders with info? I would assume this is now a 90% Georgia lock from being a 90% Michigan lock.
Play with Bama/Georgia, we're gonna take our licks sometimes I guess.
Did anyone really believe we were going to win a head-to-head with Georgia for a top 50 guy?
Until yesterday, yes.
What if he was top 150?
Didn't you read the message board post about UGA's "bad look" covering up illegal behavior? Surely promoting a culture of impunity and payment will cause UGA to lose recruits! (/s in case not obvious)
Not a top 50 guy, but point is well-taken. UGa is going to be tough to beat for any recruit at this point. They are the new Bama.
Soooo Uini announces he’s committing right after his Michigan visit and before Warren makes his decision, basically all insiders put in Michigan CBs, then the day before his commitment all the CBs randomly flip to UGA? Hmmm I wonder what po$$ibly could’ve happened
You're probably not wrong, but if money is all we're about, that translates to NFL too.
Right now, Georgia has 62 players making 775M in the NFL and we have 56 players making about 450M. So, per player, they are outperforming at the next level and making more.
That doesnt even include picks from this year, and while we had a solid draft - their draft, as we know was elite. So check back in 3 years and I think the difference grows.
So its not just money now - its also money later. And if we think kids are money driven, its not shortsighted for them to take money now, and go to a place that preps you for big money in the league.
They are the top dog at the current time, and we'll just have to take our lumps at times for it. If we can get over the top against them, that'll be a help I think. This year appears to be the year to do it. Beating a Bama/Georgia on the way would do great things for us.
I mean I’m not saying UGA isn’t a good choice for a recruit but it’s pretty clear what changed things here imo
Michigan:
Winning
Some Money
NFL prospects
Amazing Coaching
Georgia:
More winning
More money
Better NFL Prospects
Amazing Coaching

If the young man decides that all of the many inducements Georgia has to offer are best for him, well, hard to say that is anything other than understandable.
It's not like he'd be committing to Michigan State.
Good luck to him if he's Athens-bound.
Inducements becoming indictments in the near future (should be anyways).
So did we go from leading for Uni and Warren, and now do not lead for either?
I mean, we have a really really good OL class anyway, but it would have been nice to nab another 2 quality recruits.
Wingdings has a crystal ball for Warren on June 11, so I'd say we lead for Warren.
How do we not lead? The brain of a 17yo is a good eight years away from being fully developed. That, and even adults change their minds when evaluating new information based on the things they might learn on an official visit, be it NIL, or the weather, or just how much they like who they'd be playing with.
First Chiles and now Uini. Sounds like recruits are playing the NIL game well, making programs think they are a lock to X to get more money from Y. I digress... Wingdings has Warren crystal ball to us, which is good, and has an old CB on Scott to OSU.
Beat Georgia.
I doubt this is true, but just tossing it out there...
I wonder if us saying that we have a "Beat Georgia" part of practice shows that we see them as a huge threat (well duh) and they can toss that back at us to recruits saying... EVERYONE looks up to us, even top teams in other conferences.
As an example, Alabama is in Auburn's heads, we're in MSU's heads, until recently OSU was in ours...
Just wondering if the beat georgia mentality could bite us in some ways... almost as an ad for their program to say... everyone wants a piece of us.
I beleive its true. We maybe view Georgia as the new top program and are practicing accordingly.
People are bombing you (not that you should care) but I guarantee you it was mentioned.
I've been in and around plenty of these visits, the staff will use anything they can to get an edge. Anything. Again, I'll go so far as to say I guarantee some staff member directly compared themselves to UM and mentioned that UM even dedicates time to UGA because they are above UM.
As someone that had to be the guy coming up with little extras for the staff to say to a recruit at times, I guarantee it happened. Now, that's very unlikely to have been what caused him to flip so quickly. It was likely money, haha. That or UGA being UGA. They have an A++ recruiting department right now, they are back to back champs and they've supplanted Bama as the place to go if you're elite.
But it was mentioned. 110%.
Agree. You look for any advantage. I would do it. They can claim they have bigger or other fish to fry and we are obsessing over getting where they are. Then you ask the recruit. Want to start on the mountain top or 4/5ths of the way up. Or in MSU's case, under water.
Eh, the whole Beat Georgia thing is overblown to me, just seems like Harbaugh logic: to be the best, you have to beat the best. They are the current champs. So that's our aim.
Georgia is gonna say whatever they want, but I highly doubt they would even need to negative recruit. They're the two time champs and have a million players in the NFL, they can compensate players very well, and Athens is a great town with good food. One of the easiest pitches there is.
Worry about GA if they get there. Always BOSA.
The absolute last position group i worry about is OL. Whomever we get, we will coach up and they will be awesome.
True, but what has been lacking since Lewan, are dominant tackles. Hayes and Barnhart etc played well, but we need to get back to having elite bookends, especially at LT. Interior OL theres no concern.
Might be a stretch to say Barnhart played well, but yes lack of OT recruits has not helped this program lately. Too many projects that haven't panned out.
Good for him. Georgia is the best team in football, and they have plenty of money to shell out. Wanting to be the best and have a lot of money are pretty common goals in life. Onward.
Smart outhamburgered Harbaugh with multiple taco violations.
Where is the NCAA????
What does Taco Charlton have to do with this?!??
Taco Pants feels your disrespect.
I'd say it was that southern cooked food. It's hard to beat.
He gone. Scott to OSU too. Book it.
You're always positive!!!!!!!!!
‘24 National championship runs through AA …….book it.
Recent claims of culture issues notwithstanding, its not that hard to see why a player who has the option will pick Georgia over Michigan.
They've won back to back national championships, and have a very real chance to three-peat. When you're Michigan, who is just starting to knock on the CFP door but has not broken through when its gotten there, what can you really do in the face of that to try and beat out Georgia? Not a lot of options.
Most times, a kid who has the option is going to pick the more sure thing. Especially the more sure thing that is probably willing to pay upfront for play. That's not what Michigan is, and as long as Harbaugh is here I doubt it ever will be. All you can do is keep winning on the field and hope enough top recruits will decide to head your way.
In addition to the reasons you list, according to the recent article, Kirby has a desk drawer filled with Get Out of Jail Free cards.
I hope Uini has a change of heart and picks the good guys, but best of luck to him either way. The very last thing I'm going to worry about right now is Michigan's OL recruiting
I don’t know the proper pronunciation of his last name but I like to think it’s pronounced ‘weenie’
"Dagger"? Really?
Calm down, chicken little.
You uini some, you lose some.
We ain’t Georgia…..yet. Understandable decision by him if true.
Athens Georgia is the best college town in the country outside of Ann Arbor.
Kirby Smart is an outstanding coach and a good guy.
Our last 2 butt whippings vs Georgia and TCU could of been a factor. Our OL looked far from the best in the country in both of those games.
I think we land Warren - maybe not as ready as Uini but we develop well and Warren has got a great chance of being the better player when all is said and done.
I’m disappointed we missed on Max Anderson. His tape was the most impressive to me out of those we were in the running for. Tennessee got a dominant blocker with great technique and power with a bad attitude.
They also have Joe milton and he can throw it over them mountains. Of course, he does that when its a simple 10 yard crossing route, but... MOUNTAINS!!!
Joe Milton - so overrated! I think that will show up this season.
Is this where i am supposed to post 'User name checks out'?
Sorry, but not sure how “good guy” and Kirby Smart are in the same sentence. Everything coming out shows the exact opposite. Other than that, I agree with everything else
I was thinking the same thing. Great coach, but a good guy? I dont know much about him but I havent seen anything indicating hes a good guy. He might as well be Urban Meyer because he's giving Michigan fits in many ways.
Cool 👍
Personally I think Meyer and Smart are worlds apart in the jerk category but hey….we all got opinions.
Nevermind. You answered my question below.
I respect your opinion. I live in Alabama and two things motivated my comment right or wrong.
A good friend of mine is closely associated with Alabama - his dad played for Bear Bryant. My friend got to know Smart pretty well while he was at Bama. He said he was a wall to wall good guy. 🤷♂️ At least off the field. My friend is one of the few non-annoying Alabama fans I have run in to during the 38 years I have lived here. 😀 I respect his opinion
On the field his players love him and he’s apparently a caring guy. I have a cabin in the North Georgia Mountains so I get a lot of Georgia coverage.
So it’s my take on it. I’ll focus on your agreement with my other comments. I usually get slaughtered with my comments because I try to look at both sides of the coin instead of just focus on everything great about Michigan. Don’t get me wrong Michigan is great but “ some “ fans just drink the Kool-Aid morning noon and night and not recognize anything ever being wrong with Michigan. We are great we aren’t perfect
Yeah I really liked Anderson but given recent recruiting, I understand going after an OT instead of IOL.
Great point 👍
