OT: New $78M MSU Football Facility To Be Named The Tom Izzo Football Building

The Spartans 65,000 square foot facility is currently under construction and will be named the Tom Izzo Football Building.
To me, it says something humorous about the rich football tradition that the building is named after an active basketball coach. At any rate, I thought it was worthy of some off-season mocking.
The link includes a video walkthrough.
One of the bragging points is the "electrified glass" technology. According to director of player relations and program advancement Darien Harris,
"So the glass is gonna light up, illuminate," Harris said. "It's going to be like 'Iron Man.' So you're gonna be able to have an opportunity to actually, virtually suit up and really visualize yourself as a Michigan State Spartan, as a Spartan Dawg."
I look forward to your comments.
Apparently, one huge problem has already come up.
The Tom Izzo Football Building was unfortunately designed with only 6 foot ceilings.
The 'electrified glass' works perfectly, however, and definitely turns you into a virtual Tom Izzo...
What is this, a center for ants?
Was about to make this very comment, but you beat me to it. Well done.
So...Ant Man, not Iron Man? Great superhero choice.
The electrified glass does Ironman as well...
Yes, only 6 foot ceilings and powered by steam.
Locker room has a state of the art excuse generator including "we were forced to play weird guys", "we would have won but they 'crotched in' a field goal and four touchdowns" and "our defensive backs have tiny lungs."
It's classified as a 'green' building because its only power source is disrespekt.
As a 'green' facility it doesn't have any lawns. The building just sits there lying in the weeds.
"Electrified glass" let's you virtually see what you would look like in a uniform. Why can't they just, you know, put one on and look at it?
You think recruits actually want to put on a Spartan uniform?
*fart sound*
You must be in the rec room.
Or sports nutrition.
"More beans, Coach Izzo?"
"I'd say you boys have had enough!"
Oops! That wasn’t a fart!
Of course, it had to be a shart.
It was a fart. It was just that the fart had a lump in it.
Never trust a fart
Does the glass show the cyclones of hot dog wrappers and napkins surrounding you? Need that Spartan Dawg game day feel.
It even includes the crowd.
The crowd
Plus one for the most singular use of ‘the crowd’ this side of ‘the person’.
The free STD clinic is a nice touch.
Ever since Helen, the Spartans have had a problem with the Trojans.
Tuck burnin'
Another nice touch: getting Gerard Butler onsite to give the diagnosis in his 300 voice.
"This is CHLAMYDIA!!"
The only downside is his philosophy on treatment options.
In house counsel will be available 24-7 for all your legal needs
I thought the film room with adjacent jail cells was also a great idea so that no Spartan players ever miss film study.
I knew replies would be outstanding before I opened this post. Maizinator has me dying.
The film room looks too much like a tunnel. They won't be able to control their emotions.
....but they will not have their helmets with them. So they got that going for them, which is nice.
It wasn't a riot, warden, just a little pushing and shoving
78 million? I expected somewhere between 7 to 29 million.
And its less than they are paying 7L...maybe they're learning.
We'll see how it turns out. The construction company got a fully guaranteed 10 year contract despite being in business only 1 year.
....believe it or not, but CEO's name is Melvin!
But is he coming?
They definitely missed an opportunity to name the facility the MEL BUILDIN'.
Hey hey, they need the building now. They can't wait for 10 years.
....unglued, yes.
“Michigan graduates will oversee the illumination process so every visitor experiences the feeling of being lit up by Wolverines,” Harris said.
Players having some fun with Izzo in the new rec room...
And the statue in front?
Perfect.
This would be another nice choice.
Good for them...they finally get to a Bowl game.
A 1-story football building. Bold strategy, Cotton.
