Penix and the nuts tonight on ABC
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
The Penix injury really hurt Indiana’s chances.
October 23rd, 2021 at 10:30 PM ^
Yeah, their chances to score really shrunk once their Penix got hurt.

Why can't OSU ever have a year like Clemson is having now?
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:35 PM ^
Yup. Clemson just got that ass kicked by Pitt. PITT! And OSU just keeps on rolling along.
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:40 PM ^
They would have had Fields not fell in their lap after Georgia went with Fromm over him.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:04 PM ^
OSU's defense is not special.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:10 PM ^
“OSU's defense is not special.”
We’ve seen this movie before, means nothing for our game.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:12 PM ^
very flawed, a potential Achilles.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:19 PM ^
An Achilles for whom? They are gonna put 9 in the box and we are gonna bang our head against the wall between the 20s.
I sorry, I’ve seen the future it was in 2018.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:35 PM ^
We usually have good offensive gameplans for the OSU game. The problem is that we'll probably need to score 40+ to have a chance and we're not that talented.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:40 PM ^
I agree. Michigan doesn’t have the horses.
Our strategy is a modified version of tresselball (run, defense, ball control, hope for turnovers)
that style gets nuked in 2021 with a few consecutive 3 and outs.
October 23rd, 2021 at 11:17 PM ^
They have a pact with some sort of evil.
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:28 PM ^
My post will probably get deleted, but Air Force playing undefeated San Diego State

Good call on that game. The Fightin' Hokes...
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:47 PM ^
SDSU had like an 80 yard punt as an early highlight
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:46 PM ^
wide right. sorry ND.
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:50 PM ^
Really an afternoon game, but glad to see 3rd string Brandons Peter come into the game in overtime 6 to lead Illinois to Overtime 9 win with a 2-point conversion pass. He has been roughed up over his career and nice to see him get a signature win (first in years by Illini over a ranked team) at the end of his career.
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:53 PM ^
We had a lot of fun with that game in the afternoon thread.
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:51 PM ^
i am going to have a hard time enjoying either ND or ohio's game unless they both experience significant misadventure. not likely to happen, but one can hope.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:16 PM ^
Hate to say it but I’m rooting for the Irish I want USC to go into full tailspin to poach Domani.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:22 PM ^
i understand the logic, but my distaste for ND far exceeds whatever chance there is or isn't for a given recruit.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:56 PM ^
I’m rooting for the Irish
No. Just . . . no.
October 23rd, 2021 at 10:46 PM ^
I still can’t stand USC from the Pete carol years. Of all our rivals I mindNotre dame the least, I mean i still really enjoy beating them and all.
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:53 PM ^
Imagine having receivers who get YAC
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:53 PM ^
OSU is going to run us off the field if we don't find a passing game
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:05 PM ^
Time to lift the needle on this record, sir. You've said the same thing in like 4 different threads now.
October 23rd, 2021 at 10:14 PM ^
yet it doesnt make it less true.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:17 PM ^
There’s a lot of football between now and then…teams getting better each week
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:43 PM ^
Sort of worried about Sparty shutting down our run game...no pass game and they pick on our weak pass coverage...little worried about next week.
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:54 PM ^
This OSU-IU game is headed for a 55-3 type of final.
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:55 PM ^
Jesus, I could run through those massive holes their OL is opening up
October 23rd, 2021 at 7:58 PM ^
Starting to watch just to see how their OL is going to match up with out DL. I feel like The Game is going to come down to how well our DL can make Stroud uncomfortable.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:13 PM ^
Sigh… We won’t touch stroud. Their receivers will be wide open 1.5 seconds after the snap.
Think 2018.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:28 PM ^
Let me ask you, has feeling that you're "right" made things better for you?
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:36 PM ^
It’s ok, you can still be a fan without rainbow pushing all the time.
We are good.
But Ohio state is gonna boat race us unless we develop a high school level passing game.
it’s that simple, sweet cheeks.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:43 PM ^
Simply repeating yourself doesn't make it true. How does OSU "boat race us" if our ground game is churning clock as we head down the field? The longer our offense is on the field, the longer theirs is on the sidelines. We need to figure out the red zone problems. But a more open passing attack simply puts OSU's offense back on the field.
At the end of the day, you just don't like the style of the offense. The simple fact of the matter is that this is precisely the kind of offense that's gotten us closest to beating OSU in recent history. If the offense continues to churn out yards and the defense can get some stops, we win.
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:51 PM ^
So tresselball? run the ball, play defense and hope for turnovers?
Child please.
A couple of 3 & outs and we are down by 21 leaning on our awful pass offense.
We can have 250 yards on the ground (mostly between the 20s) and still lose by 20 points.
I’m here to help, you don’t have to do this to yourself.
October 23rd, 2021 at 9:03 PM ^
Tresselball? What are you, an OSU troll? That style of football existed long before Tressel was at OSU.
And it's what the coaching staff has built this team to do. Yes, child, by all means, let's go with your idea and switch gears midseason and see how well that works out. And I bow to the superior wisdom of such a plan, particularly where we don't have the same talent at the WR spot and since that would mean rolling a true freshman QB who hasn't had more than a few series' worth of snaps. Great idea. But hey, he's got a bigger arm and is more athletic.
You can't just say that we need to implement a RichRod spread offense so we can win a track meet and ignore the reality that that's not how this team is built.
October 23rd, 2021 at 9:15 PM ^
"Sweet cheeks"?
October 23rd, 2021 at 9:20 PM ^
Is there a problem?
October 23rd, 2021 at 9:26 PM ^
many times its not what you say, but how you say it. you are embarrassing yourself.
October 23rd, 2021 at 9:41 PM ^
Interesting. I’ll note your concerns.
October 23rd, 2021 at 10:05 PM ^
pretty sure you are an ohio troll. regardless, this is you right now:
someone is trying to tell you about the sticker. you might say 'thank you' as opposed to continuing to try to pull off your silly schtick.
October 23rd, 2021 at 10:19 PM ^
I see. I am no troll and your disposition is misplaced.
Nonetheless, I am a better man because of you. I strayed too far from gods light and you brought me back into the fold.
For that I thank you.
The phrase “Sweet cheeks” will no longer scorch my forked tongue.
I am reborn with new passion and purpose I will speak your name with voice of thousand elephants.
I am one with you now, what else should we accomplish together in the this life or the next?
October 23rd, 2021 at 9:18 PM ^
Nice strawman, let me simplify it for you.
Our coaching staff tailored our offense to our talent level, but it has limits.
Without a functional passing game our offense is gonna struggle to keep pace, because our running game will stall in the red zone.
As of right now, we are a service academy with a pedigree. I hope I’m wrong.
October 23rd, 2021 at 9:33 PM ^
This is why arguments on the internet are so tedious. I didn't put forth a strawman argument. But yes, using the term makes you sound like an expert, so it must be true.
The team has a functional passing attack, and McNamara has the skill to hit passes underneath, in small intermediate windows, and downfield. Consistency is an issue, sure. Redzone is an issue, sure. But you're talking like a systemic change is needed to avoid getting "boat raced" by OSU. I don't think that's true.
Edit: So, since you're so derisive of my "Tresselball" approach, help me understand this:
October 23rd, 2021 at 8:40 PM ^
I agree. Michigan doesn’t have the horses.
Our only prayer is a modified version of tresselball (run, defense, ball control, hope for turnovers)
that style gets nuked in 2021 with a few 3 and outs.
How much of a passing attack "modification" are you talking about? I'm assuming it has to be something more than what we did in the NIU game since otherwise, it's in the playbook and we actually do run it...
October 23rd, 2021 at 10:02 PM ^
I agree, this a war of attrition .
You seem to be upset about my “child please” remark.
I said Michigan is a ball control team that may get worked against elite offenses.
You made a convoluted argument about changing offenses in the middle of the season, then proceeded to wax poetic how is ridiculous that would be. (this is your strawman)
we can agree to disagree, old sport.
October 23rd, 2021 at 10:10 PM ^
You made disparaging claims about Michigan's passing attack and then went full troll when that point was challenged. My last post sums up my position, and since you haven't seen fit to respond to the substance of the argument, I'll let you have the last word from here so you can feel good about winning the argument, old chum.
