They've moved on to basketball.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:17 AM ^
Why shouldn't they? The football team did in September
November 18th, 2019 at 8:17 AM ^
...and quietly. After the loss to UK, they clammed up as well. They get noisy again as they start to pile up some wins, but I'm not convinced this years team is really as good as their pre-season ranking would imply.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:36 AM ^
They got noisy because they beat Binghamton and Seton Hall? I'd be quiet considering what Evansville did to Kentucky.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:19 AM ^
Very subtle brag that you're into work by 8 on Monday morning. Good for you.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:31 AM ^
I actually have to be into the office by 7:00 am.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:57 AM ^
that is like the worst brag ever
November 18th, 2019 at 8:21 AM ^
Same thing at my office. Not a word out of any of them. Although the OSU guy watched our game and was pretty impressed.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:31 AM ^
Was he a "family friend" that offers interest free loans that don't need to be repaid anytime soon - and not just to people that are potential clients in a year or so?
November 18th, 2019 at 9:09 AM ^
Funny thing about this guy is that he's a retired fed. Born and bred in Ohio, so naturally a huge OSU fan. At one point in his career he reported to a Michigan fan, who reassigned him to the Ann Arbor office, just to fuck with him, which is apparently a bit of a tradition in his agency. Guy had to spend the last 20 years living in Michigan and working in Ann Arbor, completely surrounded by Michigan fans.
His daughter even went to Michigan.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:21 AM ^
My Sparty coworker is lucky I had to work from home today. We may not see each other this week.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:26 AM ^
Oddly enough, I had the opposite happen to me yesterday at a golf course near Destin, FL
I was wearing a UM half zip on the practice green and 2 separate Sharty fans went out of their way to say how bad the game was the day before. They were both friendly old snowbirds...but I still rubbed it in a bit.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:34 AM ^
Of course they would say that. This game showed that state is bad this year, not that UM is good. Michigan can't beat good teams - didn't you get the memo?
November 18th, 2019 at 8:28 AM ^
Actually there is a woman in the office who doesn't work from home who has a Sparty tattoo on her arm. I should be able to F with her at some point this week.
November 18th, 2019 at 8:29 AM ^
Be careful, f---ing with a woman you work with......
November 18th, 2019 at 8:54 AM ^
Especially with a genetically enhanced college mascot permanently inked to her body.
She sounds gross. Maybe it's the same girl the My Little Pony guy is always rambling on about
November 18th, 2019 at 9:20 AM ^
Normally I don't shit where I eat, but this is a special circumstance.
November 18th, 2019 at 10:07 AM ^
is she able to get her teeth back in quickly?
November 18th, 2019 at 8:32 AM ^
You stole a concept that would have been my first OP. I have three employees that are ridiculous Sparty fans. They were talking ridiculous stuff last week. All three are out today. Seems one has the flu and the other have sick children. Convenient, for sure.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:26 AM ^
Write them up for unscheduled leave?
November 18th, 2019 at 9:26 AM ^
At a minimum I would require doctor's notes to return!
November 18th, 2019 at 11:12 AM ^
Whip up your own doctors note template. Have them check the box for what ailes them.
-butthurt
-Little Brother Syndrome
-chronic inferiority complex
-extreme saltiness
November 18th, 2019 at 8:53 AM ^
Even the douche I know who has a huge tattoo of a spartan helmet with a rose around it knew they were getting killed this weekend.
November 18th, 2019 at 1:33 PM ^
This is legitimately one of the dumbest tattoos I’ve ever heard of. And I fully plan in getting a half sleeve dedicated to U of M
November 18th, 2019 at 8:56 AM ^
I had a few near me at the game and I did not hear a peep out of them.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:04 AM ^
They are preparing for their rival, Rutgers...
November 18th, 2019 at 9:11 AM ^
Glanced at the RCMB last night. All it is is "scUM" this and "Walmart" that. I can't imagine what the average IQ is on that board.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:15 AM ^
Somewhere between 10-44 is my guess
November 18th, 2019 at 9:27 AM ^
too high. between 3 and 9.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:15 AM ^
Some of them no doubt work at walmart.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:22 AM ^
or Sam's Club.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:23 AM ^
No, they couldn’t bear to work at Walmart. They probably are at the Dollar Tree cause they like that the sign is green.
November 18th, 2019 at 11:01 AM ^
I know this has been discussed before, but I just shake my head every time I hear that "Walmart Wolverine" crap. They dig us for being "elitist" but then they trot out that BS? Since when is it bad to have a team that appeals to the community generally?
I live in East Lansing and I rarely ever get any guff for "representing," but lately I have gotten zero.
I had to get my blood drawn on Friday. I went to the lab (in Lansing) and I was wearing a Michigan t-shirt—and the phlebotomist who drew my blood was too. As were the other two lab employees I saw. Unanimous!
November 18th, 2019 at 9:18 AM ^
Sam Webb is in rare form this morning.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:24 AM ^
Yes, he isn't holding back. :-)
Well, having talked smack beforehand, he is able to capitalize after the fact.
Sam - Enjoy!!!!
November 18th, 2019 at 9:27 AM ^
The higher they climb, the harder they fall, with pride coming somewhere in between.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:27 AM ^
The spartan fan was too busy to come to the game as he needed to go buy a new sofa....
November 18th, 2019 at 9:32 AM ^
They lasted 3 days at Thermopylae, but just over 3 hours at the Big House.
November 18th, 2019 at 11:40 AM ^
Actually, they were done in 30 minutes. And they had equal numbers.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:34 AM ^
I had too much to do around the house and yard Saturday, but did block out the time for the game. If I had had less to do I would have put up listings for lighter fluid pre-soaked couches on the East Lansing Craigslist page. Free to a good home. Burn responsibly.
November 18th, 2019 at 11:09 AM ^
I often think about driving my truck up to east lansing with couches and lighter fluid and dropping them off at random places, but the fear of what MSU police my do to me has prevented me from doing so.... so far.
November 18th, 2019 at 9:47 AM ^
I'm letting the office Spartys stew til lunch, at which point I'll inevitably hear the old "I stopped caring about this season weeks ago."
November 18th, 2019 at 9:50 AM ^
Moral dilemma: is browsing RCMB for schadenfreude worth the risk of giving my computer genital sores?
November 18th, 2019 at 10:22 AM ^
Or pizza grease on your mother board.
November 18th, 2019 at 10:43 AM ^
One of my favorites was a guy responding to a post about the search for Dantone's replacement (and they were really grasping at straws).
"FRIB (Facility for Rare Isotope Beams) can reanimate the corpse of Vince Lombardi. Not sure about the labor laws. Maybe we could get him to work for free".
November 18th, 2019 at 10:06 AM ^
Hats off to all of you, this is overall the funniest series of posts I have read on here in a long time.
November 18th, 2019 at 10:11 AM ^
Rarely see them. I work during the day and they clean my office at night
November 18th, 2019 at 10:32 AM ^
oh yeah,.. we cannot forget how they behaved for years....
when you walk by them, cycle through the following phrases....
"The righteous shall prevail"
"It isn't over, it will never be over!"
"I need your supervisor"
"Pride comes before the fall"
"Where's the threat?"
