Snark aside, that punt was perfect. Rolled dead at the 3 inch line at the same time it was touched
January 7th, 2019 at 11:32 PM ^
Seriously this guy looks like an alien
January 7th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
I keep seeing the kid from Dazed and Confused.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:37 PM ^
Kid with the long hair or Matthew McConaghey?
Actually could he be their love child HAHAHA
January 7th, 2019 at 11:42 PM ^
I keep thinking he's Sunshine from Remember the Titans

Trevor Lawrence could easily be a NFL quarterback, but the interesting thing is, he’s not going to be a pro football player, he’s studying to be an architect. That’s always been his dream job.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:35 PM ^
Well after tonight, his career plans have changed.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
Why? Why wouldn't he want to be happy and fulfilled at his dream job? I wouldn't trade my job to play a professional sport at a high level. I know many people who wouldn't.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:58 PM ^
Then why play college ball at the FBS level? Why not just quit now and make sure he stays healthy since he has won a national championship? These kids go to major schools and compete at the highest level in order to prepare themselves for the NFL.
January 8th, 2019 at 12:14 AM ^
You're talking to someone who willingly uses the shield of a school whose motto is "where fun goes to die"
January 7th, 2019 at 11:38 PM ^
If you really believe he’s going to turn down the NFL I question your intelligence.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:33 PM ^
Wow, 'bama has quit. Clemson couldn't run at all the entire game, but escaped from their 3 inch line and got a first down on the ground.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
At this point, hang 50 up on them... hell, hang 60 up on them!
January 7th, 2019 at 11:34 PM ^
This game is really going to hurt Alabama's recruiting. It proves they don't belong with college football's elite! Are they ever going to recover???
January 7th, 2019 at 11:35 PM ^
Yeah, they will be preseason #1 next year. Duh.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:41 PM ^
They have like 20 or 25 4*/5* guys coming in. They'll be in the finals yet again.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:36 PM ^
Saban is going to be pissed when he finds out via message boards that he has to fire his whole staff and change all of his systems.
I kid, I kid. Seriously, we need to use our offensive weapons. Pay someone a lot to help us innovate.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:36 PM ^
Lawrence is the next Andrew Luck. The guy you see as a freshman and say “yeah he’s going to be great in the NFL”
January 7th, 2019 at 11:37 PM ^
I was thinking he's a more athletic Peyton Manning. But Andrew Luck also makes sense too.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:41 PM ^
stronger arm less athletic luck
January 7th, 2019 at 11:37 PM ^
I think I would get Lawrence out of the game and turn it over to the backup.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:37 PM ^
I think it's important to remember that it took Dabo 7 years to build Clemson into a top program.
Even then, he was more known for "Clemsoning" than winning big games.
Patience, people.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
He also offers the #1 recruit 300k to play for him
January 7th, 2019 at 11:42 PM ^
JUST STOP. They are fun, can play as a freshman. Never been, but people say campus is cool. Face it. Kids wanna play for Dabo and this system.
January 8th, 2019 at 12:35 AM ^
Campus is beautiful and the game day experience is amazing. Ive been to three games. There is no bagman getting those kids to go to Clemson. Go there and you'll find out why.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
You know something we don’t about the offensive schemes and style of play? No chance unless we change to more aggressive and faster play.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:42 PM ^
And with amazing dudes in the trenches come year (honestly I don't know, 5?). We've had some...good ones. But not the amount and on BOTH sides of the ball. Our Oline has to get better and I'm nervous our Dline will take some steps back without stud tackles we've seen over the past almost decade.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:44 PM ^
I think it’s improtant for you to remember that one coach has a modern offense and has shown the ability to adapt while the other coach is still trying to run into stacked boxes on 3rd and 7.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:52 PM ^
I’ve always thought the Dabo comparisons weren’t applicable. Dabo took over as a mediocre team/program whose head coach bailed on them (or fired I can’t remember) and had no previous head coaching experience. Harbaugh’s resume coming in as Michigan’s coach was much better. I’m not expecting NCs in year 4, but beating OSU, playing in a conference title game, not having embarrassing meltdowns on national tv, adjusting offensive philosophies? Yea, I don’t think I’m wrong for expecting that.
January 8th, 2019 at 12:36 AM ^
Well, goblue, we just saw 'bama - of all teams, 'bama! - have an embarrassing meltdown on the biggest stage of all. Apparently it can happen to anyone.
Michigan was a terrible call away from achieving 2 of your "expectations" in his second year. It sucks that call didn't go our way, but I think it's unfair to blame JH for it.
This year finished with a thud, but we also had some pretty big wins.
As for adjusting offensive philosophies, I get it. I expect JH probably does too. He's competitive, smart, and a good coach.
Hopefully we'll see some positive changes. I don't think we need to be Oklahoma, we just need to open things up and play with a faster tempo - at least at times.
I honestly believe JH will bring us some magical years if we give him the chance and he's willing to stick it out. All this sky-is-falling negativity is ridiculous IMO. Does no one remember the RR and BH years?
Let's be realistic; Clemson played the style they did tonight because they have an all-world QB slinging it, a line that can protect him, and they absolutely COULD NOT run the ball. Dabo was smart enough to recognize it.
Alabama's offensive philosophy didn't look that much different from ours, other than somewhat faster tempo. They wanted to pound the rock, and did so pretty effectively. It was the INT's and failures in the red zone (and pretty poor pass defense) that really put them in a hole. They got whupped tonight, but they've been awfully successful with that formula, including last year's NC.
You're right, Harbaugh had a better track record coming in than Dabo, but other than a better long-term history, I don't think Michigan's program was in any better shape than Clemson's when Dabo took over. And, it's probable Dabo cheats.
Jim Harbaugh is a high-end football coach. Just who do you think could/would do better, playing by the rules?
January 8th, 2019 at 7:07 AM ^
Alabama gets the benefit of the doubt with their track record of success. Again, I think you’re being disingenuous.
Okay great, we were competitive with OSU 1 out 4 years.
What big win did we have? We beat terrible Wisconsin and MSU teams and an okay PSU team. Not sure that makes us signature.
Great that you believe that and that Jim will adjust offensive philosophies. I’ll believe I’m magic and adjustments when I see it.
Alabama’s offense looks vastly different than ours other than liking to run the ball. Their run concepts are night and day different.
Clemson also wasn’t in great shape before Dabo took over for Bowden. Look up the history. And prove it that he’s cheating.
Lastly, I don’t want Harbaugh fired. I just don’t have pie in the sky expectations. Since the end of the world war 2, we’ve been a very mediocre program who has a couple of good seasons, who can’t win the big game. 1997 was a flash in the pan. We’re not elite and we’re likely never going to be. I still think we should at least beat OSU or play in the Big Ten Title game by sheer luck once in a while, but I don’t have real expectations of us making the playoffs or winning it all, and that’s okay with me. It’s right in line with the last 80 years of history.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
This is really remarkable.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
i've never seen that mid-drive; pulling the starters for a well deserved ovation. they do it in basketball. i like it.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
Geez, even Notre Dame could stay within 27 of Clemson.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:40 PM ^
Come on Dabo - Do the Hans Gruber order them to hit it again
January 7th, 2019 at 11:43 PM ^
More bagman needed
January 7th, 2019 at 11:48 PM ^
I love Dabo. He is so sincere
January 7th, 2019 at 11:43 PM ^
please punch this in. i want to see 50.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:45 PM ^
Stupid announcers. "Where does Alabama go from here?"
To next year's National Championship game.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:45 PM ^
Theres no way either of these teams are doing things on the up n up. That said I don't mind seeing Bama and Saban get their teeth kicked in instead of the other way.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:48 PM ^
They are cheating like crazy . . . Bagmen . . . PEDs . . . fake academics. All of it.
But so is everyone else at their level.
It's like the Tour de France . . . you can take the trophy away from the 1st place guy for cheating, but who are you going to give it to? The 2nd and 3rd place guys are cheating just as badly.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:45 PM ^
Is it me or does the name Dabo Sweeney scream used car salesman.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:45 PM ^
SEC! SEC! SEC!
January 7th, 2019 at 11:46 PM ^
Hey Paul Finebaum
January 7th, 2019 at 11:46 PM ^
Am I the only one who thinks Dylan McCaffrey has Trevor Lawrence potential, but our dumb coaches probably wouldn't play him anyway.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:48 PM ^
I think Lawrence arm strength is much better Can't compare accuracy haven't seen much of Mcaffery. I think Mcaffery is more athletic.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:49 PM ^
Yes. Lawrence is a generational talent. McCaffery.
You are a dumb poster.
January 7th, 2019 at 11:51 PM ^
Your mom is dumb for having you. I'm entitled to my opinion. Go $!#/ yourself
January 7th, 2019 at 11:52 PM ^
Hey this must be your favorite day.
After 2 years of shitting on Don Brown and the defensive scheme, you might get your wish if Temple pulls the trigger!
