I haven't seen any reports that he's taking an OC job. I have seen passing game coordinator discussed, but until there's an official press release, we won't know for sure.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
I was hoping Michigan would go after Yurcich.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
LOL.

Bring Wilson to AA

January 1st, 2019 at 10:03 PM ^
A guy who was fired by IU for abusing his players?
There are good coaches without that kind of baggage.
January 2nd, 2019 at 5:53 AM ^
Please God, No.
That said, Pep should've been gone after year 1 - the writing was on the wall. Sell it has him rebranding himself under Harbaugh to be a HC (which he's better suited for...Michigan should've pushed HARD to get him to Charlotte has the HC).
Harbaugh needs to give up the reigns on offense, or at least loosen them and become more of a CEO like Brian Kelly realized he had to do (and talks openly about - remember, Kelly's an offensive guy too)
It should be Harbaugh as HC.
OC/QB: A young, creative, spread/multiple QB who's going to play every snap with Collins and Black on the outside and DPJ in the slot.
RB: Jay Harbaugh
WR/Passing Game Coordinator: Tee Martin (great recruiter as well!)
TE: Moore
OL/Run Game Coordinator: Warriner
DC: Don Brown
DL: Mattison
LB: Washington
CB: Zordich
S: Partridge
SPT: Jay Harbaugh/Partridge
Harbaugh should've been all over bringing Tee Martin in when he was out at USC. Boost the recruiting, get a guy who can coach QBs AND WRs...get him involved in the offensive play calling with the OC that you bring in. Let Warriner and the OC manage the run game. Profit.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
We don't want Kevin Wilson. It's not that he isn't a brilliant OC, but not a good person.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:24 PM ^
Whoa, whoa....... he's a bad person?
January 1st, 2019 at 7:27 PM ^
Perhaps a rush to judgement on my part. I based my opinion on his alleged player mistreatment while at IU. Maybe I am way off base.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:36 PM ^
Something like that did happen. But that kind of thing he did has happened all the time in football. It happened when I was in high school. It is not good. I didn't like it when I saw it. But the head coach that did it in high school wasn't a bad person. He was wrong. His desire to win overrode his protection of a high school kid. The players dad wanted to sue. But didn't.
I think Jim Harbaugh, Ben Herbert, and others on the team, would be a buffer from him doing the same at Michigan. He wouldn't be the head coach here. He'd have less authority. But yeah, he was wrong. There's no trying on my part to sweep it under the rug. It was wrong. But it is not unforgivable. We can't be held to the mistakes of our past. What kind of limitations would we all have if our mistakes dictated our future?
And besides, it's possible he is sorry for it, and is changing. At least I am hoping he is.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:38 PM ^
Ah the ol’ “buffer” rationalization.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:56 PM ^
When I see the word Bru I think of my favorite film Capricorn One...
When Hal Holbrook says to Brolin......."Bru....It doesn't have to beeeeeee like this...."
January 1st, 2019 at 7:43 PM ^
Fair points. I have a son who is being recruited by some D2s and D3s for football. When we've made visits to schools, I ask the players....what kind of person is this head coach?
So.... being a good person matters to me! Character matters to me!
January 1st, 2019 at 7:55 PM ^
Yes, you're right, character does matter.
January 1st, 2019 at 10:34 PM ^
I don't see why anyone would want to take on someone that you'd have to say "ah, the head coach will buffer him from hurting players" as a positive direction for the program. There are OCs out there who haven't done this and are just as good as Wilson, if not better.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
Live in Bloomington now and everyone I've talked to said he's a huge POS.
January 1st, 2019 at 8:24 PM ^
I think you could go back to his time at Miami (Ohio) and hear the same thing.
January 1st, 2019 at 9:26 PM ^
Ehhh the player mistreatment isn't why he got canned. It wasn't that serious, but IU was tired of covering up his tendency to drive while incredibly intoxicated. True story.
January 1st, 2019 at 10:40 PM ^
The fact that his defensive coordinator got promoted from under him should tell most of the story. If the player mistreatment was so bad, why would they promote someone within who worked under him and at least somewhat let it happen?
January 1st, 2019 at 7:25 PM ^
Who cares if he’s a bad person, did he kill 5 hookers ?? Did he abuse his wife ? Did he murder anyone ?? If not sign him
January 1st, 2019 at 7:28 PM ^
You forgot to ask if he has ball lifters.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:37 PM ^
I like how you slipped "abuse his wife" in there. I see what you did there. Well done.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:43 PM ^
At OSU if you answer yes to only 2 of those questions you’re hired!
January 1st, 2019 at 7:44 PM ^
I think he only murdered 4 hookers.
January 1st, 2019 at 8:34 PM ^
Bush league.
January 1st, 2019 at 10:08 PM ^
Is that the killing hookers league?
January 1st, 2019 at 9:31 PM ^
We already hired Durkin and RichRod, so I think we can make it work.
January 1st, 2019 at 9:49 PM ^
What did K Wilson do to get fired from Indiana?
January 1st, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
Hmm, Maybe if Wilson is gone we can hire him and he can give us inside scoop on OSU.
I dunno guys, I'm reaching for anything here while I watch OSU play great in the Rose Bowl, man that pisses me off!
January 1st, 2019 at 11:11 PM ^
You say this as if we dont already have a former offensive coordinator from OSU on our staff.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:18 PM ^
Come on to TTUN, as they call it where you are now Kevin Wilson, here to Ann Arbor. We have a much better stadium anyway, and a better core of receivers, and a better offensive line coach.
(Or wouldn't Kevin Wilson mesh well with Jim Harbaugh's style?)
January 1st, 2019 at 7:26 PM ^
His style is too fast-paced and exciting for the "down-in-front" crowd here. We've got to run offense from back when The Beatles were the heaviest band on the planet.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:59 PM ^
I always thought it was funny, odd, that The Monkeys sold more albums for a couple years in America than The Beatles.

Facts
January 1st, 2019 at 7:23 PM ^
Yurcich has been rumored to osu or Tennessee for the past week....I wouldn’t mind Wilson coming to UM, however, unless Harbaugh gives up the reigns, I don’t think it matters who the OC is.
January 1st, 2019 at 9:06 PM ^
Wilson isn't going anywhere, yurcich is just replacing Ryan Day
January 1st, 2019 at 7:31 PM ^
People need to stop with the “he’s a bad guy” stuff. Durkin is one of the worst people in college football and everyone was happy to have him on staff.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:37 PM ^
Are you trying to be a parody account or something?
Nobody with any sense would want Durkin back.
January 1st, 2019 at 10:52 PM ^
He’s Just Plain Crazy!!!
January 1st, 2019 at 7:40 PM ^
Maybe that’s because nobody knew he was a bad person at that point. God you’re dim.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:41 PM ^
Harbaugh knew him very well. Just because we weren’t aware doesn’t make a difference.
January 1st, 2019 at 9:00 PM ^
Or maybe most of his bad qualities weren't very relevant until he was actually a head coach and in charge of a program.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:33 PM ^
This is rock bottom. Since when do we beg to see an OSU coach come our way to help us beat them?
When will we realize it’s not the coaches, it’s the culture. Recruiting is 90% of the battle. Pretty simple. Wilson ain’t gonna do what we think he could do.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:34 PM ^
Coaching and scheme are equally important and we trail in those categories as well.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:43 PM ^
Bama is literally a coaching carousel. It doesn’t matter who has the headset on, the players execute.
Ill say it again: it’s 90% recruiting.
January 1st, 2019 at 7:48 PM ^
I’ll say it again; scheme matters. That’s why Saban went out and hired assistants that could bring his offense into the 21st century.
January 1st, 2019 at 8:06 PM ^
what don’t you understand? Saban and Meyer bring in guys who can recruit. It’s the same reason why OSU will probably steam roll us the next two years at least.
Scheme is important, but life is way easier with a top 3 class year in and year out.
January 1st, 2019 at 9:20 PM ^
If it’s 90% recruiting then we wouldn’t be shitting the bed anywhere close to as much as we do against OSU. For most of the last decade we’ve recruited only a half shade or so below OSU’s level. And yet we get ham blasted or shit our pants when we have chances to win.
Scheme matters. Putting your players in position to succeed based on their skill set matters. Player development matters. All of these matter arguably more than recruiting. Case in point: Mark Dantonio circa 2010-2015.
January 1st, 2019 at 10:51 PM ^
OSU's recruiting has not been a half shade better. They've had a better average rating every year for at least a decade, sometimes it's close, sometimes it's not. That's a lot more talent taken as a whole. More than 3x as many 5* players, for example.
