This incoming class is remarkable
Mods please delete the last OP's post about Harrison live feed (what a dumbass)..
We just landed the top RB and the top S, at two positions that have evaded us, the past decade, in Dax and Charbonnet (the only Zach that matters).
We also landed two OT much needed,
and two top 5 DT in Smith and Hinton....
This class IS different....

So ... did OSU lose a third guy? They're 19th WITH Harrison. And have 14 WITH him. Started with 16 and I know they lost 2 ...
Did I miss something?
EDIT: I see 247 updated their standings now, so I stand corrected.

A lot of their top targets signed elsewhere - Jacobs, Butler, Broeker. Plus a couple commits flipped - Mathis and Battle.
December 19th, 2018 at 1:42 PM ^
Gosh, that's too bad.
December 19th, 2018 at 3:08 PM ^
One of their top commits (Nester) also decided to delay unti February and take visits.
They really need a decade or two of BPONE.
December 19th, 2018 at 4:12 PM ^
So let's give them one.
December 19th, 2018 at 1:08 PM ^
Seems like a pretty typical Michigan class to me.
December 19th, 2018 at 1:10 PM ^
The versatility of this OL class is key to me. Seems like a high floor bunch with as many as 4 guys who could play tackle and a few who would fit at C and will get a shot there.
So many dudes to be excited about that some are lost in the hype shuffle. Mazi is going to be a monster.

We took a recruit from 'bama and another from Stanford.....
don't pinch me....
December 19th, 2018 at 1:21 PM ^
Hill flipping back and Johnson signing has changed my outlook from good class to great class.
Hill and Johnson are both kids at positions of need...
What a terrific start to the day

Can you put Harbaugh’s head on one and Don Brown on the other?
December 19th, 2018 at 1:30 PM ^
24/7 has us 7th in the nation, 1st in the Big Ten; ESPN has us 4th in the country, 1st in the Big Ten; Rivals has us 9th in the nation, 1st in the Big Ten.
December 19th, 2018 at 1:59 PM ^
Wait, what? I didn't hear that. What was that again?
"1st in the Big Ten."
Oh, right. That.
Not Ohio State. Not Penn State.
Excellent.
December 19th, 2018 at 1:34 PM ^
Harbaugh's best class yet. That OL haul is outstanding and provides a foundation for program strength for many years. Plus, some impact players for next year at positions of need ... Safety and DT for sure ... nice to have Charbonnet for the RB rotation to be fully ready when Chris graduates.
Go Blue !!!

Every year I pick an incoming player -- usually someone not a "star" of the class -- and make it a point to watch for them in games. Examples: Sione Houma, Oliver Martin, Julius Welschof.
This year I'm leaning towards either Quintel Kent or Joey Velazquez.
December 19th, 2018 at 1:37 PM ^
It really is an awesome class, and the staff did an excellent job at targeting and securing not just great players, but great players at positions of need. Real excited for the future.
December 19th, 2018 at 1:42 PM ^
ESPN has Michigan’s class at #4.

I only follow the 247 Composite as it takes the average of all of the recruiting services. Kind of removes the bias (somewhat) that certain services have for certain regions of the country and conferences. It's by far the best/most accurate

I agree after a rollercoaster week or so it’s a nice capstone...getting Daxton and Charbonnet is monumental. Pretty much everyone in this class has a high upside, I’m sure there will be some that don’t pan out but the volume is there I think this is the tide turning in the BIG.
December 19th, 2018 at 1:49 PM ^
Michigan's current average in the 247 composite = .9037
Top 15 recruits average .9289, OSU's 15 man class averages .9257
Top 18 recruits average .9224, PSU's 18 man class averages .9212
so basically we have the best class currently, plus took additional lottery tickets with some 3-stars that will work themselves out one way or another
December 19th, 2018 at 1:54 PM ^
I like it
December 19th, 2018 at 2:05 PM ^
Good way to look at it.
Our top 15 is better than OSU's entire class of 15.
Our top 18 is better than PSU's entire class of 18.
And we have an additional 10 or so great recruits after that.
What's not to love?
December 19th, 2018 at 2:11 PM ^
The Dax Hudl film will put a smile on anyone's face who is still glass half empty (sorry don't have the link). Dude and the rest of the Goon Squad 19 are gonna be fun to watch!!
GO BLUE!!
December 19th, 2018 at 2:29 PM ^
Also SPEED
At one point I remember reading Giles Jackson was the fastest guy in the entire 2019 class
Santrisil is also a speedster. And obviously Dax Hill is fast as fuck
We desperately needed speed and we got plenty
December 19th, 2018 at 2:56 PM ^
It is a well balanced class that hits a lot of areas of need and has some nice top end talent. There are still a few guys farther down the list that seemed like odd early offers, but hopefully they are sleepers that pan out.
December 19th, 2018 at 3:05 PM ^
I agree that this class is different. Really looking forward to seeing them all out there soon!
December 19th, 2018 at 3:19 PM ^
Agreed, this class has what I would consider elite potential.
Excellent top end talent with Hill/Charbonnet/Smith/Hinton all positions of need
Great raw, but high ceiling projects with Keegan/Ojabo/Solomon
High floor guys like McNamara/Rumler/C. Johnson
And some guys I think were really under evaluated in Jones/Jackson/Sainristil
if some of the other guys develop into contributors you're looking at an excellent class that can perform on the national level.
Hats off to the coaches!

BPONE is over. The IHOPE era has begun: (Infinite Horizon Of Positive Expectations).
December 19th, 2018 at 5:50 PM ^
To be successful with OSU, you first must be successful with MSU. If you don't recruit the top 5 in your state, they go to MSU with an ax to grind. You need half you team to understand and hate the rival for success. #rememberthe90s Lloyd Car was the last coach to understand this, to bad he didn't understand the spread offense.

Future All Americans
Dax Hill
Zach Charbonnet
Trevor Keegan
Mazi Smith
December 19th, 2018 at 8:21 PM ^
Now we need to beat OSU in the big house in 19 and all will be right in the universe once again
December 20th, 2018 at 12:31 PM ^
Sure hope so but they have a massive amount of talent returning which is the reason for their very small recruiting class. They have only 8 scholarship seniors and are awaiting the final word from a few underclassmen that might enter the draft. Their 2019 class could max out at around 18 or so which brings down their total class rating but sure looks good for next years' team experience.
We have to beat those idiots in AA next year. I can't even think of losing to a first year coach.
