This is actually pretty common, fans staying at team hotels for bowl games. I believe someone asked this question here before.
Unless you’re harassing them for autographs, I don’t see what’s wrong with wanting to meet the guys we spend all of our time on and our money to go watch and support.
The athletic department makes that impossible for whatever reason. Men’s Basketball has great fan interaction with the players and coaches at selfie night.
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:04 PM ^
True, we saw the team bus walking back after winning the final four game and there were three players in the hotel lobby meeting fans. The people inside the hotel looked way less creepy than me staring through the window.
December 3rd, 2018 at 1:22 PM ^
The team bus walks? While I'm not sure why that's a desirable feature in a bus it sounds like an amazing......."feet"! Love to see it!
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
Thanks for the help and being one of the few on here that did not see I was trying to be creepy. I had a friend that’s a Clemson fan say it was neat because the day before the game his son got to meet several players that were hanging out in the lobby when they came in from dinner.
December 3rd, 2018 at 12:13 PM ^
I totally agree. If I were going to the game, my two young boys would love to see a player or two strolling through the lobby, even if they didn't say hello!
December 2nd, 2018 at 7:53 PM ^
I would guess the Hyatt Regency or Marriot downtown on Peachtree Street. That’s where the SEC Championship teams stay n
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:01 PM ^
I feel sorry for the team ... warm weather, beaches, desert, night life ... Peach Bowl, not
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:41 PM ^
Well it will probably be in the high 40s when they're here, but a night on the strip in Buckhead and a burger at Fred's is still a good time.
And they can go to Coke World which is awesome, don't @ me bozos.
December 2nd, 2018 at 10:47 PM ^
They've got a nice aquarium where McElwain used to book overnights with some of his buddies. And on a more serious note, some of the great civil rights monuments, MLK's childhood home and church. Down the street from there is Atlanta's Ponce City Market, a foodie's dream.
December 3rd, 2018 at 1:27 PM ^
Coke World eh? Never heard of it but back in Harbaugh's day the players hung out at Coke & Weed World at 913 Mary every single day!
December 3rd, 2018 at 3:44 PM ^
Fred's?
Uh, no.
When in Atlanta, it's gotta be The Varsity . Best greasy cheeseburgers in the world!
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:16 PM ^
Hurry though. SEC hotels fill up faster.
December 2nd, 2018 at 7:57 PM ^
Motel 6. Harbaugh will leave the light on for ya.
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:03 PM ^
And practice at some shit high school in bad weather. Oh, great development experience ...
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:12 PM ^
Future teams will probably want to lose another game just so they can get a true New Years game in a vacation location. Atlanta in December is not any better than Ford Field in Detroit ... a week in a crappy Marriott hotel is no "prize" unless the weather is vacation-like.
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:44 PM ^
I responded to you above in jest because I thought we were all just having a good time making fun of this creepy request...but wtf is wrong man? You seem like a genuinely unhappy person. We're going to a NY6 game in the nicest NFL stadium. Yes, nobody wants to play Florida again, but Michigan football could be in a hell of worse spot than 10-2, ranked 7th, playing in a NY6 game.
December 2nd, 2018 at 9:54 PM ^
We are ranked #7 and are being tooled by the SEC. I am mostly a positive person until some dick-wad puts me in the Peach Bowl because the SEC dictates shit - #10 Florida won't play #8 UCF in the Peach. UM at #7 should get its choice of bowls - period. The CFP sucks.
December 2nd, 2018 at 10:02 PM ^
The CFP should have called #7 Michigan's Warde and said "where do you prefer to play in the Fiesta or the Peach" ? Nope. Just decided what was best for the SEC. Fuck the CFP.
December 2nd, 2018 at 10:10 PM ^
This ... FUCK THE SEC AND THE CFP COMMITTEE
Edit - the bowl game should have been UM's choice as the #7 team. That is how this stuff is normally done. The SEC just trumps everything. THEY SUCK and we should call them out on this stuff. Versus just being a f-ing patsie. .
December 2nd, 2018 at 10:17 PM ^
Oops, you forgot to switch accounts, man.
December 2nd, 2018 at 10:34 PM ^
Normally I am on your side good Dr MT ... but this bowl game assignment SUCKS because they allocated it based upon what was best for Florida and LSU. That is wrong. If should have been Florida vs UCF in the Peach and UM vs LSU in the Fiesta. #7 vs #11 in the the Fiesta and #8 vs #10 in the Peach ... that is the playoff protocol versus what they did.
December 2nd, 2018 at 10:47 PM ^
I agree with you on that. I'm not disagreeing on that topic, I agree that we should be in Arizona playing LSU.
I'm just pointing out that you're having a convo with yourself above, which tells me that you have multiple accounts and forgot to switch them.
December 3rd, 2018 at 12:08 AM ^
Or multiple personalities with one account
December 3rd, 2018 at 10:23 AM ^
Didn’t want to assume mental illness, but yeah commenting “this” on your own post and then replying to that comment is either multiple accounts or multiple personalities lol

I live in Atlanta and I'm happy.. Michigan has never come here to my knowledge...For those of you who don't know the Peach Bowl is a big deal here lots of activities associated with the Bowl game. Atlanta is a great town, great night life and restaurants and a GREAT sports town...a ton of UM fans and alumni here..it was near 70 degrees today..It would make a great 3 day trip ..even driveable from AA..I'm not thrilled about Florida either BUT..a major bowl against a SEC team ? Less we not forget the dark years of the RR era..come on down and show them why Michigan fills seats and eyeballs...
December 3rd, 2018 at 12:25 AM ^
Nothing wrong with Atlanta just wanted to go to Pasadena. It's the best bowl experience by far.
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:21 PM ^
From mgoblue.com. It's listed on the bowl tour package.
We've stayed at the team hotel the last few years. I haven't seen anyone approach/harass the players and coaches walking around. It's nice to be around other Michigan fans.

December 2nd, 2018 at 9:18 PM ^
Man, that's expensive. And it does not even include a game ticket and the flight.
December 2nd, 2018 at 9:41 PM ^
If you're going to the Rose Bowl, absolutely worth every penny.
But the bowl tour for everything else is pretty much the ripoff of the century. It's amazing they still do this, and that people still pony up.
December 3rd, 2018 at 9:56 AM ^
Yeah it's pricy but the child tickets are MUCH cheaper ($350?)
So just buy one of those. If you are questioned about your age and asked to show your I.D. just say "I don't have one, I'm a child."
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:22 PM ^
I was ready to make a snarky comment on this post, but then I remembered that we all spend a stupid amount of time on a blog based around a bunch of teenaged kids. Glass houses and all. Still though, stay away from the team hotel.
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:26 PM ^
Everybody is hating on Peach Bowl....but coaches probably quite happy to recruit the area and show off the team to GA talent.
December 2nd, 2018 at 8:51 PM ^
Definitely. We've been to two NY6 bowls in 3 years after getting to one premier bowl (Sugar) from 2007-2015.
And we aren't getting the "Michigan Advantage" (one of drunk Mary Sue's slogans) being invited to a NY6. We earned it. Sure would rather be playing LSU just to change the pace, but still I remember shutting off the crap BWW Bowl ugly loss to KSU and Bill Snyder at half time when Hoke was dead man walking (wo head sets).

Why is Georgia playing Texas instead of OSU, Michigan, UCF (hee hee!), or Washington? Is this one of the obligation things?
Overall I like Purdue/Auburn, Miami/Wisconsin, NW/Utah and PSU/Kentucky. I don’t like Michigan and OSU’s match ups but the whole Big Ten has winnable games versus most years where each team plays up.
December 3rd, 2018 at 8:00 AM ^
The Rose is obligated to take the Big Ten and Pac10 champions if they aren't selected for the playoff.
December 3rd, 2018 at 9:59 AM ^
The Sugar Bowl has a loose affiliation with the SEC, but I can't find any obligations to take team X or Y. Seems like Georgia should have played Michigan, or another team more highly ranked than Texas. Sugar Bowl is played in New Orleans, so it is an easy trip for Texas and GA fans. Texas is decent this year, but the match up is the biggest spread in the rankings.
December 3rd, 2018 at 8:27 PM ^
Actually the Sugar is obligated to take an SEC team and a Big 12 team now. They took Texas the highest ranked Big 12 team not in the playoff.
Fwiw, the Orange takes an ACC team but has no "partner" for its 2nd choice. There is an order for bowl selection among the "new years 6" I just can't find it.
December 2nd, 2018 at 9:54 PM ^
I'll tell you. But I swear to the almighty if you pull the friggin' fire alarm at 3am on game day I'm gonna give you what for!
December 2nd, 2018 at 10:02 PM ^
Here's quick way to know *not* to ask a question: just ask yourself, "is this the same question that a serial killer would ask?" If yes, don't ask. Otherwise, you're in the clear!
December 2nd, 2018 at 10:36 PM ^
I've been working all day. I just see this now. How the fuck does Michigan not get an invite to the Fiesta Bowl? WOW!!! Those fucking chicken shits. Georgia against Texas in the Sugar Bowl? Un-fucking believable. SEC candy asses. They know the buckeyes played out of their asses against Michigan and Michigan played like shit. Take Michigan out of that setting in shit hole columbus where they all have their peckers painted maize and blue 365 days of the year and play like it's their last day on planet earth. They could not have big bad LSU playing the second best B1G on a neutral field. I guarantee that's all it was. What a fucking joke. To add to pathetic, number 6 buckeyes go to the Rose Bowl just because and 5 and 7 cant even play eachother? LMFAO.

The two tours offered by the University both stay at the team hotel.
December 3rd, 2018 at 7:58 AM ^
The team is staying at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis. I imagine the only way to get a room is to book one of the two tours through the University that offers a stay at the "team hotel". They seem "pricey"
December 3rd, 2018 at 9:12 AM ^
Question for the OP. Did you think this was going to go well?
December 3rd, 2018 at 9:05 PM ^
Honestly didn’t think people would take it that I was some creep. Figured most would realize that the big hotels have hundreds of rooms. Just thought it would be neat if my kids got to see some of there heroes and get a quick pic. Guess I never know how this board overreacts to things but of course some on here want to fire a coach that’s won 10 games in 3 out of 4 seasons
