Any updates to injured players?

Submitted by maizenblue92 on November 11th, 2018 at 1:08 PM

Metellus, Hill, and Paye either did not play or left early yesterday. Metellus did not play but did warm up, Hill was in the concussion protocol but unsure of severity (did have helmet on going up the tunnel seems encouraging), and Paye left with what UMBig11 said was a soft tissue injury(did not specify). So this is what we know so far. Do we have new updates to severity since the goal is to maximally healthy for OSU. I don't want to speculate but it seems like a precaution was taken.

Good news on Paye...I was worried it was a biceps tendon as can happen when guys are hitting the weight room hard and the mass is packing on the tendons sometimes lag behind...Dylan has looked great and really looked like he was living up to that top 50 original ranking(anyone remember when he was the number one QB in that class?) bummer he’s getting shut down now.  Heal up and keep eating steak young man.

so what is your narrative?  umbig is great at appropriately sharing info and you have a conniption fit if it's he doesn't grade out every single time with every single tid-bit at 100%?   and it is important to you because...why?  are you the next coach we play against?

i suggest gratitude as a better response.  if he's wrong at some point, maybe a shrug of the shoulders.   however, if some critical decisions in your life hang on whether umbig is 100% perfect, well, i guess you'd do better to skip those posts.

I honestly don't get how people are unable to grasp that we are given a snapshot and sometimes things change.  I work in medicine and can't tell you how many times stuff changes.
People find out all the time that doctors have decided to go a different route.  No surgery to remove the tumor. No radiation to the brain.  Diagnosis, like, the thing we are all treating you for, has changed.

I don't read every post on the board, but I've also never seen him pound his chest either.  I agree the ND comments seemed off, but whatever.  Appreciate whatever info we can get.

The fact Metellus traveled, dressed, and went through warm-ups makes me believe he could have played yesterday if needed, and the injury is not serious. I don't think you would waste a spot on your travel roster if you had a player with a serious injury.

I also flipped out after Notre Dame. Michigan was coming off an 8-5 season and had just lost to a team that most Michigan fans didn't think was all that good. It was not some crazed and unreasonable response. Now, I'm not saying I haven't been crazed in responses to Michigan football, but I just don't think the early season frustration was surprising. Michigan had lost four straight games and looked inept offensively for many of them.

You gather more data and build a better perspective. It's obvious that a lot of people like myself were off base. Michigan is about to play Ohio State for a shot at the CFP for the second time in Harbaugh's four years. Hail!

Explains why Peter's just got one series with McCaf news.? Shows Peter's is 2nd & not to risk injury to him...?

Exactly.  Right now, Peters is #2.  Game was secure.  Get Milton some game experience while keeping his redshirt and preserving both the #1 and #2. Anyone who thinks that Milton would come in as the #2 in a tight game did not read the tea leaves yesterday.  God forbid we lost both Shea and Peters, at least Milton has seen the field and taken a few snaps.

Peters was clear number two out of camp. Made one late read against Nebraska on a bum leg and the coaching staff had him rolling out. Took an amazing play by the DB and the whole fan base turned on him. They called the same play for mccaffrey against western and for some reason the western DB just left Mccurry open, otherwise the result would have been the same as the peters play. So he gets a bunch of snaps because peters got hurt and everyone just turns on peters. Was higher rated in a better class of 2016 than mccaffrey. But peters is a gunslinger, Dylan is not. If we had mike leach or a more pass heavy coach, peters would start over Shea.

There is a poster on another site that goes by the name of Rockie. He has a personal relationship with former M player/coach Curt Mallory. They are members of a facebook group that share information. UMBig11 is a member of this facebook group. Another member is former Michigan insider MaizeMan. I am kind of sure they may be the same person. But either way they definitely get their information from the same place. There is your insider source.

Gary fell awkwardly on his hand and had to come out for a couple plays and I seriously doubt his shoulder is healthy. Really wish Harbaugh would rest these guys (Higdon, DPJ, Patterson, Gary, Winovich, Bush, Solomon, etc) after a few series. The team seems deep enough to beat IU.

Kwity Paye did a brief interview on the Inside Michigan Football show for today. He seemed to be in a rather all right mood.

Hopefully that's a sign his arm injury wasn't major.
