This will be the snowflake thread for the offense and offensive playcalling.

Gardner has what it takes to be a GREAT QB and has played as well as it's possible to play wearing 2 or 3 OL on every play.  The routes take too long to develop, and Borges has so many guys trying (ineffectually) to block that there are usually only a few targets, all of them covered.  18 of 27 for 196 with 1 TD and no picks is a good day for any QB, especially one as harried at DG is on virtually every play.

Agree that the play calling is highly suspect. However, DG really isn't very good ... Drops the ball, holds it forever, etc. I think he can be pretty good, but must be mental.

Nothing...I mean nothing...is working right now offensively.

This game was lost far before the 4th and 5 conversion with a minute left, but I looked at my wife and said "I hope this ball goes to Dileo".   I trust him with my life to catch the ball.   As I watched the ball sail through his hands, my heart absolutely sank.   We have reached the deepest sanctum of hell offensively.  Dileo just doesn't drop the ball.

the same as last week which if Nebraska didn't suck would be OK.  Screens, hot reads and Draws should have been run all day and they were almost non existent

Not only can he not block in pass protection worth a shit, he runs like such a wimp.  I've never seen a running back who gets taken down so easily by so many arm tackles.  If a defender even gets a finger on his jersey, Fitz goes down like he was just shot...and it's never falling forward for an extra yard or two.  I'd love to see Green or ANY other running back in there, as long as they're willing to block.

Also, Fire Borges!

There are no snowflakes.  Beyond being able to pass block, sometimes, the offensive line cannot do a thing, and the offense correspondingly cannot do a thing.

They go max protect and try to throw deep, but Gardner still doesn't have time to throw even with max protect.

Fitz T. cannot pass block. If he is the best pass blocker among the running backs... I don't even know what to say.

Second week in a row with negative yards rushing.  This is officially the worst Michigan offense I have ever seen, and it may be the worst statistically, by the end of the year.

I thought this team would bounce back from the MSU game.  Instead, they imploded again.

I recall the John Navarre - must have been 2001 - offense, that was just bad.  But they could at least run the ball a little bit.  This team can't run or throw.  Amazing.

We've gone from a team with no defense to a team with no offense.

Borges is the new GERG.

Borges continually calls plays that are slow to develop to the point they would be a challenge with a good line.  With a weak line, the best chance (at least it seems to me) is with quick hitters.  Instead, he has DG under center and running play action or runs that, regardless of which is happening, take an extra second or two that our line simply cannot provide.  I can almost always tell what we are going to do as soon as I see how we are lined up, and I don't spend hours watching film, unklike the DC for our opponent.

Hey we didn't turn the ball over.

Reality: DG is a mess right now. They have beat him down about making TOs, and now he won't make a tough pass (except the 3rd down chuck it straight up play).

On top of that, he definitely looked less than 100% healthy.

They won't let him make decisions at the line. Today it was easy to predict what we would do. 7 or 8 in the box was a run. 5 or 6 and they passed, over and over.

The coaches have lost confidence in him and so has he. I guess I put it on the coaches who haven't been able to coach him up without mentally destroying him. The biggest issue here is that there isn't anyone to out in to give him a drive or two off. I think that might help him.

On the plays I rewatched, the oline didn't really do that poorly, they just outnumbered. Nebraska knew what was coming on every play. I expect a RPS of -50. Run after run was into 8 man fronts.

I only remember DG changing one play all day, and that was into a power up the middle into an 8 man front. 7 guys blocked well, one LB unblocked into a 3 yard loss.

Simply the only way to describe 60 yards in the first half and 25 in the 4th quarter.. If it's youth, I don't see much talent ready to break out. Gallon is the main weapon and he's gone next year. Unless someone develops these guys, we'll struggle next year.

Good grief, the calls to bench Devin are silly.  Really all he needs is some time and some better play calls.  I guarantee that if he has more than 3 seconds to throw the ball he'll light it up pretty good.  He is not a bad QB, he just has horrible blocking.  How do you seriously put the blame on a QB when his line gives up 14 sacks in 2 weeks and the RB can't find a hole to save his life.  He takes a beating game after game because of the line and you want to blame him?  Incredulous, people!

We should put green in there more. We are not going to run at all and Fitz is nt good out there helping with the blitz. Honestly just forget RBs and just put te FB there as the RB.
