That is how I'm reading the map. The yellow area gets M on ABC. Whether or not the rest of the country gets the M game on WatchESPN, I don't know.
September 18th, 2013 at 11:11 PM ^
is different because there is no mirror on ESPN2, no game on ESPN2 at all at that time. Which is the problem for anyone roughly West of the Mississippi.
I guess to some degree I can't blame them for not making MICH against UConn, which is a pretty weak game, the national game.
HOWEVA, given how bad both UT and KSU are, Michigan is clearly the most watchable team.
So boo this coverage map...

West-coasters can hop a flight to Alaska or Hawaii to catch the game. Nice.

Suh-Weeeeet. Iowa is a cluster but I'm in the clear.
September 19th, 2013 at 8:48 AM ^
and although the coverage map shows the Michigan game, I checked with the local affiliate and they are airing the KSU/Texas matchup.
What is difficult for me to understand is the physical location of the TV station is in Illinois, so technically this shouldn't even be an issue... But it is.
Not happy!
September 19th, 2013 at 11:15 AM ^
Weird. I hope for your sake that's still just an error and that once Saturday comes around it'll be Michigan. If you're in the quad-cities I really hope that's the case as I may be over there myself so I'm assuming Michigan will be on.
September 19th, 2013 at 11:54 AM ^
I just received a reply phone call from the Programming Director at WQAD-8 (ABC affiliate in the Quad Cities).
She is looking into the issue, and said it would be resolved today, tomorrow at the latest. More to follow!

Yeah let me know what the WQAD peeps say. Again, I assume the Michigan-UConn game is what's to be broadcasted but I'll still check back and see if you have any update especially if it goes against us.
September 19th, 2013 at 2:14 PM ^
...probably think Michigan-UConn is a basketball game.
September 18th, 2013 at 11:14 PM ^
Anyone know if they're going to have a secondary channel showing the M game or am I going to have to resort to watching it on the web

My wife's sister is getting married next saturday. Bye week. She knows what's really important to us.

Thanks for the idea to try watchABC - I downloaded that already, but didnt think of the idea to proxy. It's worth a shot!
Anyway, I'll have my 3G ipad so worst case I'm checking back on mgoblog for streaming sites! Thanks guys.
September 19th, 2013 at 9:02 AM ^
You can watch it from anywhere ... though you better have a great data plan. or better yet WIFI.
Go Blue!
September 19th, 2013 at 11:44 AM ^
My work pays for unlimited 3G on my ipad.... Just need a link and im golden. My goal is to get familiar with every option people are telling me on here and just keep toggling through the options. HOPEFULLY one will work. My risk management is to hit the board up and hopefully someone who is smarter than me has posted a live stream compatible with ipad. Double risk management is to leave the wedding and find a tv. The last one will likely be what happens.
Not feeling great about my ipad options, but love the support on options from everyone!! Keep em comin!

Pick a city where you can access watchabc.go.com/live and try a proxy (http://www.proxynova.com/proxy-server-list/country-us/).

Thank you, I will give this a try!

and make your way to Buffalo Billiards at 1330 19th St., NW. Great place to take in a Michigan game ..........packed with Michigan fans on gameday.
September 19th, 2013 at 9:54 AM ^
Just for future reference it appears the Alumni Association is changing venues to RFD near the Verizon Center. I got an email last week about that. I'm sure people will still be at BB but looks like they are trying to phase over to the new place. No idea why but the new place is pretty cool and a much better beer selection and they still have a ton of TVs.
September 19th, 2013 at 11:42 AM ^
It might have something to do with Buffalo Billiards being a terrible, terrible bar.
I'm all for the transition to RFD.
September 19th, 2013 at 9:24 AM ^
You may not be able to get it on WatchESPN since the game will be on ABC out here. I have to watch a random Saturday night game before after getting home on a Saturday night and the WatchESPN has not streamed the ABC game. Just be prepared for that. You may have to use the Gamecast which is pretty decent.

I'm here in California. I won't be able to see the game. Shit.
September 19th, 2013 at 12:02 AM ^
Me too... first time since 2007 that I will be unable to watch a Michigan game in California... Praying my in law's Dish network gets the alternate feed...
September 19th, 2013 at 6:27 PM ^
It will be available on ESPN3 where it is not on ABC

according to the michigan schedule page on espn, it lists an ESPN3 broadcast:
http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/130/michigan-wolverines
however, when you go to espn3, it doesn't list the michigan game as "upcoming" unless you go to this direct link - http://espn.go.com/watchespn/index/_/gameId/332640041/league/NCAAF
still not sure if either of these are confirmation for espn webcast.

Luckily, I'm in a region that gets the game but it's hard to believe CA gives two squats about the Texas - KSU matchup.
Howevah, the board should remember why we're playing UConn (most recall): we needed a respectable but oh-so-beatable opponent to face to rededicate the Big House. A Randy Edsall-coached UConn was just that school, but insisted on a home-and-home. This game is the payback, and UConn did not look nearly so bad a few years back when Edsall was looking like a Pat Fitzgerald-ascendant coach who would put UConn at a new level of respectability. (I'm confident WolvinLA2 knows all this, - his posts indicate a great perspective on and understanding of Michigan football. I'm just replying in case some folks on the board wonder "why the hell did we schedule an away game at UConn"?)
WolvinLA2 - I hope you're able to stream the game some way, some how.

It's still hard to believe that we couldn't convince UConn, or a UConn-level school, to do a one-off game at the Big House. Even though Edsall's teams showed promise, they weren't a prestigious opponent or anything. Plus, their home stadium only holds 40K, so I don't see how UConn would be able to make more money by hosting a game than just by taking a check from us.

BiG10 states Nebraska & Iowa get barely half coverage, but for some reason ALL of North Dakota will get the game?
September 19th, 2013 at 6:53 AM ^
I'd imagine they put minimal thought into North Dakota's coverage desires. The Iowa situation is odd, but Nebraska is kind of venturing into weird Big Ten/Big Twelve country so it makes some sense.
September 19th, 2013 at 8:56 AM ^
While there are a lot of B12 fans here (I'm in Omaha), most people I've talked to would rather see the Michigan game - including me obviously. Looks like streaming online it is for me!

Apparently Iowa State wears the pants in the family.
