When I was a little kid (7 or 8 years old), living in Montreal, he was my favourite Expo. RIP

But in light of recent history.....I will never be able to refer to them as such.....just in case!!

11/26/2017 - 7:29pm Does anybody here speak French

Love the irony of Petit-Frere's name.

11/26/2017 - 6:53pm I know that this is how you get negged to death

If you look at my post history I am not an insider or one to post news per se. Having said that, did we have a 5 star visiting this weekend? I spoke with a friend at the game Saturday who is "associated" with the team and was advised that there was a great deal of buzz and excitement Friday surrounding the commitment of a 5 star. Might be nothing. Either way it looks like a good weekend on the recruiting front

10/02/2017 - 12:30am Who?

Who does number 2 work for??

05/17/2017 - 12:38pm Retired

Was a cop for 30 years.... Now I help take care of my 3 year old granddaughter.

04/10/2017 - 12:46pm This is weird

I'm GoBlueNorth and my name is Phil.   MSP is a class agency!!

04/10/2017 - 11:01am Stay Safe Brother

I was a cop for 30 years and retired two years ago.  Things have and are continuing to change out there and not necessarily for the better.  I agree about becoming a firefighter from the time off and public perception perspective.  I have a lot of respect for young men and women who choose to serve in blue because even firefighters need heroes  Good luck young man, it's an amazing career.

03/28/2017 - 1:24pm Love this GIF......brings back memories

Every time I see this I remember working a traffic point at one of the worst tire fires in North America.  It happened in 1990 in Hagersville, Ontario.  The fire involved an estimated 14 million tires and lasted 17 days.  Sadly, it was an environmental mess!!!!

02/28/2017 - 8:20pm They're not Purdue fans

OSU fans don't have a horse in the race anymore. Their support has probably moved to Painter.

02/28/2017 - 12:48pm I'm just gonna

Lawyer up!!   Although I agree with Harbaugh's position.

02/01/2017 - 4:17pm and he can run!!!!!…

01/31/2017 - 2:48pm Where do we stand with this Solomon kid

Is he any good??

01/30/2017 - 12:20pm Edit: I now have no idea!!

NCAA Bylaw This rule states that any financial aid except that which is specifically exempted is going to count as athletic aid and make the student a “counter” in terms of scholarships.

But this is the NCAA so nothing is that clear.  I have to think that Michigan has had some very academically qualified players in the past that were always counted towards the 85.

EDIT:   or this??

Status: Adopted Final

Intent: To specify that institutional academic scholarships based solely on a student-athlete's academic record at the certifying institution are exempt from an institution's equivalency computation, provided the recipient has completed at least one academic year in residence at the certifying institution and has achieved a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.300 (on a 4.000 scale) at the certifying institution; further, to specify that all institutional financial aid (including aid that is exempted from an equivalency computation) awarded to a counter may be used to meet the minimum financial aid requirements for Division I membership.

A.    Bylaws: Amend by adding new, page 206, as follows:

" Exceptions

" Academic Honor Awards.  Academic honor awards that are part of an institution's normal arrangements for academic scholarships, based solely on the recipient's high school record and awarded independently of athletics interests and in amounts consistent with the pattern of all such awards made by the institution, are exempt from an institution's equivalency computation, provided the recipient was ranked in the upper 10 percent of the high school graduating class or achieved a core-course grade-point average of at least 3.500 (based on a maximum of 4.000) or a minimum ACT sum score of 105 or a minimum SAT score of 1200.

[ and renumbered as and, unchanged.]

" Institutional Academic Scholarships.  Institutional academic scholarships that are part of an institution's normal arrangements for academic scholarships, based solely on the recipient's academic record at the certifying institution, awarded independently of athletics interests and in amounts consistent with the pattern of all such awards made by the institution, are exempt from an institution's equivalency computation, provided the recipient has completed at least one academic year of full-time enrollment at the certifying institution and has achieved a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.300 (on a 4.000 scale) at the certifying institution."

01/29/2017 - 10:11pm Solomon, Collins, Gay and Martin

We get one.....two if the gods shine down on us.

01/28/2017 - 11:38am Best I could to OSU players do a lot of drugs

01/28/2017 - 11:28am I must be tired.....everything is funny this morning

Read the article in the link and it says he was high on Oklahoma last month.

01/28/2017 - 11:16am Gator Board.......very funny

Just looking at the Gator board on 247. Most fans still want him. There are some posts on there apparently from his Twitter account where he throws OSU players under the bus and says they do a lot of drugs. I am not a Twitter guy and have no idea how to check the validity of a Twitter post. Just FYI.

01/27/2017 - 7:54pm If even only a fraction of this is true, it's still too much.

.We need to keep in mind that there a few issues at hand here.  The first being the heinous crime of rape.  The second beng the institutional cover-up of said rapes and the third being the institutions support and encouragement of what might have been a spirit team although I don't see that that's what was actually said.  The coach seemingly goes "old boys club" and suggests that the football players get laid which I think goes without saying at any school.

I'll focus on the first two issues.  I don't care if there was 52 incidents or not.  If there was even a small fraction of 52 incidents, Baylor should pay a price and I hope that the victims open up a can of financial and hardship whoop ass on that shit hole institution.  I have worked with and personally known victims of sexual assault/rape and no measure of financial compensation will heal the scars that  might be left.

This isn't even about the football team anymore but I agree with what another poster said,  I don't want this to become a rallying cry or struggle for redemption through sports so shut the fuckers down!!!

01/26/2017 - 9:29pm Age and/or IQ

Sometimes I think we should have to state our age and/or IQ before we post or our blood-alcohol level.

01/24/2017 - 1:42pm Good for Iowa

The fact that somebody, anybody else is doing this is flattering.  I hope that they have great success  with this.......but less than us.

01/24/2017 - 1:39pm What about the schools being proactive

I've often wondered why a school like Michigan that seemingly has unlimited resources doesn't launch their own investigation.  There are countless other schools with deep pockets that could contribute in this light,   Is it because it doesn't happen as often as we suspect so why bother.  Is it because the last thing we want is other schools taking a closer look at some or any of our practices.   Just a thought.

01/22/2017 - 5:54pm Big loss

That's crootin. It would be nice to see a 12th hour commit or flip to the good guys but I'm not feeling optimistic. Still a strong class.

01/18/2017 - 11:49pm Have the Bolivians been rehabilitated

Red's (Shawshank Redemption) response: 1967 Parole Hearings Man: Ellis Boyd Redding, your files say you've served 40 years of a life sentence. Do you feel you've been rehabilitated?
Red: Rehabilitated? Well, now let me see. You know, I don't have any idea what that means.
1967 Parole Hearings Man: Well, it means that you're ready to rejoin society...
Red: I know what you think it means, sonny. To me, it's just a made up word. A politician's word, so young fellas like yourself can wear a suit and a tie, and have a job. What do you really want to know? Am I sorry for what I did?

01/18/2017 - 3:06pm Commitment Issues?

I'm on my third marriage I have them too.

01/18/2017 - 1:48pm Yay

He still has Collins to Michigan.....I knew we still had a chance....

01/17/2017 - 11:22am "the older guys"

I wonder how many of us could keep up with the demands of their jobs and the amount of travel they do.  I'll take the slightlty slower pace combined with the wisdom.  The old bull and the young bull.

01/10/2017 - 8:25pm Depends on Taste

Bo Schembechler wines are a novelty, nice souvenir but not a great drinking wine.  The Charles Wodson wines are actually pretty good but pricey.   The CW Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc are both good.  I haven't tried the Cab $600 a bottle.  If you get a chance take her to a Charles Woodson wine tasting.  Good Luck and Cheers

01/06/2017 - 4:16pm Should remain a team sport until there's a winner

As somebody who played hockey for 18 years and has loved the sport for most of my 53 years, I have to admit that I hate shootouts and skills competitions.  It's a team sport and I say play as a team until you have a winner.  I would rather see a  ten minute period of 5 on 5, a ten minute period of 4 on 4 and the 3 on 3 until it's over or any variation of this.  As a goalie, I have played in several tournaments that went staright to shootouts at the end of a tied game and I didn't love it.

01/01/2017 - 12:10pm Time with my father

My father served in Korea and M.A.S.H. was one of his favourite shows. It was the one show that we watched together in my youth. Dad lived with me in his last years (until 3 years ago) and we still watched it. He used to find it funny that the show lasted almost 4 times longer than the war.

12/16/2016 - 12:21pm Big loss to the class

This is what recruiting is all about. Let's react a little better to this than some are. It's a teenager making an important decision for his own reasons. Let's not be too quick to caste stones about coach hirings or any other perceived shenanigans.

Best of luck to the kid and onto the next recruit.

11/17/2016 - 2:21pm Too Bad

It wasn't a helmet to HELMET it!

11/11/2016 - 8:33pm 34-10 Michigan

34-10 Blue

11/05/2016 - 8:34am Coffee while we pack the car up

and then off to Ann Arbor from Windsor. Go Blue!!

11/03/2016 - 12:22am Nursing

I hope this young man is serious about nursing. Michigan is one of the top 10 in the country. Alabama just makes the top 100 and UGA not so much. Great career choice outside of football.

10/28/2016 - 10:27am 31-17 Go Blue!

31-17 Michigan

10/15/2016 - 9:19pm I am among the minority

I know that it's unpopular on here to say this but I like Wisconsin, Nebraska, Northwestern and a few others. I think that at the very least it's because I've had positive interactions with their fanbase.

10/15/2016 - 9:07pm On Wisconsin

Go Badgers!!!

10/12/2016 - 11:45pm So grateful!

Thoughts, prayers and thanks to your daughter an all service men and women who serve in the United States and Canadian Forces.

I've had the honour of knowing so many who have served. My late father, Canadian Army, 27 years, served in Korea.  My brother in law, a reservist in the Canadian Army, lost both legs and an arm on his second tour in Afghanistan. Countless friends who have served multiple times overseas.  I have spent my whole life grateful for their service.

I know how proud you must be of your daughter and am sure that you worry about her.  I'll remember her, the crew of the Mason and your family in my prayers.

10/08/2016 - 8:48pm Anybody in Windsor

John Max

10/08/2016 - 8:43pm Where are you

10/07/2016 - 3:51pm 48-3 Michigan

48-3 Michigan

10/05/2016 - 9:30pm I liked the addition of Nebraska when it happened

and still do. I think that they bring a clean program to the BIG with a fanbase not made up of douches. I don't think that the school wants "bad football" and will do what they need to improve. Academically they are on the same page as Mizzou and Oklahoma as public universities (all three tied at #51), the worst in the BIG.

09/30/2016 - 4:20pm Hard to schedule top 10 OOC games

Every school schedules a cupcake or two for OOC games. It's hard to schedule some of these games because scheduling takes place years in advance and what might be a top 10 team this year could be bottom feeders when we meet them 3 or 4 years down the road. It's hit and miss.

09/29/2016 - 9:39am Thoughts and prayers out to both of you

Indeed Fuck Cancer!!  Thoughts and prayers for a healthy outcome and a long life and future for you and yours.

09/27/2016 - 9:53pm No.....his PhD

Then he could be Dr.....oh forget it.

09/27/2016 - 3:20pm 24-17 Michigan

24-17 Michigan

09/27/2016 - 9:58am Wow

Much respect to this kid.  He seems like a level headed young man and an asset to any team that might pick him up.  Best of luck to him.
