I don't know why people aren't happier about this game.  For the first time in a while, we're actually playing some good defense.  We've gotten open shots, and they aren't falling, and this is ugly, but I actually feel better about this game than most of other ones lately.  Shots falling, as long as they're open, should regress back up to our average as the game goes on.

All season we've been crying for us to finally figure it out on D.  Well, this game, we're not letting free shooters open, we aren't letting people blow by us, we're rebounding, we're contesting shots...everything you and everyone else has been complaining we don't do.  But we've commited some unusual TOs, missed our FTs, and haven't been hitting our open shots.  There's plenty to work on.  But we've been actually getting open shots.  It's not like Burke or Hardaway has just been hero-balling to poor possestions.  Personally, I'll take the defensive improvement.  I expect the open shots to start falling, and commit less turnovers.  The regression to our usual mean that happens most every game.  I'll take the positive defensive effort and be happy about that right now.

We can't seem to have one without the other. Getting good rebounding and good defense, but our shots can't fall to save our own lives. I agree in that we shouldn't shoot this bad for the whole game, but is a lot closer than it should be. Wisconsin is shooting pathetically, and we're letting them right back into the game.

That last 3 could be a dagger. Wisky is not going to continue to miss shots. Everyone saw we outplayed them - and only up 3 at half. When you have a chance to put a team away, and you don't - bad things happen.
