Beat Army!
December 5th, 2012 at 7:44 PM ^
Damn...those are pretty sweet!
Say what you want: robble robble robble...tradition...robble robble robble...get off my lawn...robble robble robble...change is scary...etc...
But those are SWEET!
December 5th, 2012 at 10:10 PM ^
Unless you're in our base burgling our burgers, I think you mean rabble.
December 5th, 2012 at 7:45 PM ^
Being a history buff, the inclusion of the map inside the numbers is quite cool. This is probably the first time I've ever looked at an alternate uniform and not shake my head over its stupidity.
December 5th, 2012 at 7:51 PM ^
While subject matter mad me sick, the ohio state uniforms weren't bad either.
December 5th, 2012 at 7:56 PM ^
Love the inclusion of the 1st Jack....but wtf happened to the helmets?
Navy is going to roll over Army...for the 11th year running.
Go Mids!
December 5th, 2012 at 7:56 PM ^
Those are just slick. For all the 'traditionalists' I hope we get a uniform that cool in the near future.
P.S: The ones we wore against Bama were also pretty sweet.
December 5th, 2012 at 8:37 PM ^
What is the "Don't Tread on Me" shirt for? Do they wear it under their uniform?
December 5th, 2012 at 9:03 PM ^
Yeah, I think it's the undershirts, just like the map-shirt for the Army uniforms.
December 5th, 2012 at 7:56 PM ^
Navy always has sweet uniforms for this game.
How does this game affect bowls? Since it is after the selection.
December 6th, 2012 at 9:25 AM ^
Navy is 7-4 and already bowl eligible, and they are going to the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl on Dec 29th vs Arizona State. Army is 2-9 so this is their bowl game. They are fighting for pride in the rivalry as uaual, but also, both Army and Navy beat Air Force, so the winner of this game gets the Commander In Chief's Trophy for winning the service acadamies' series.
My father in law went to West Point so I'm pulling for Army to get the upset, but it is unlikely to happen. On the other hand, I didn't see Army beating Boston College or Air Force coming either.
In a recent year past, there was an Army team that was 5-6 heading into this game, so their spot in their tie-in bowl was being held open for them in the event that they won the game, and when they lost it was given to a different team instead.

Aren't the marines in the navy? and Go navy, beat army
December 6th, 2012 at 9:49 AM ^
December 5th, 2012 at 9:18 PM ^
The Marine Corps is the Navy's land forces, it's run by the Department of the Navy and is not a "separate" branch of the armed forces in that sense. Annapolis grads choose to serve their military commitment in either the Navy or the Marines.

I do like the Army uniform. That being said,
GO NAVY!!!!!
December 5th, 2012 at 8:07 PM ^
I wouldn't mind having that Navy helmet in a case beside my maize and blue helmet. I like the gold.
December 5th, 2012 at 8:16 PM ^
I don't always like alternate uniforms, but when I do, I think those Army unis are pretty damn sweet!
Now get the hell off my lawn anyway.
December 5th, 2012 at 8:19 PM ^
Go Army! Beat Navy!

Looks like Purdue.

They kinda look like Northwestern's underarmour jerseys; the stripes on the sleeves are of similar design. I do like them a lot though, Nike does amazing work with their pro combat line.
December 5th, 2012 at 8:48 PM ^
The Army- Navy game is the only rivalry game that even comes close to Michigan- Ohio for me. I love watching it. It's a great way to end the college football regular season every year.
You want to see players leave it on the field? Watch this game. The tradition is great.

Personally, I liked these.

December 6th, 2012 at 12:31 AM ^
...these should be their regular uniforms.
December 6th, 2012 at 5:54 AM ^
Much better than those in the OP.
December 6th, 2012 at 12:27 PM ^
That is all.
Service academies are the only entities that need to wear camouflage on the field. Ever.

December 5th, 2012 at 9:32 PM ^
I should be supporting Navy, but fuck it go Knights
December 5th, 2012 at 9:44 PM ^
Go Navy! And somebody please tell Nike to find someone who was actually in the military to render the salute next time, instead of someone pretending to be a warriorzz.
December 5th, 2012 at 9:56 PM ^
Gotta root for Army.
What has it been, ten years since They won? How can the greatest fighting force in the world have the worst football team? (I know, sarcasm illiterate guys, just being ironical)
My best buddy from high school played for Navy and even he is starting to feel bad for Army. At least we know if they lose Saturday, those Army seniors will be undefeated from here on out.
GOD BLESS THEM ALL. I hope it's a dog fight and Army wins a squeaker.

They look pretty normal to me. All black uniforms are pretty common with a lot of teams these days. I just don't see anything special about them.
December 6th, 2012 at 12:01 AM ^
No, you don't get it. Don't you see that guy in his check-out-how-intimidating-my-lats-are pose? His head tilted slightly forward in what would be a no-nonsense glare if you could see his eyes through the very serious visor? Knees slightly bent in a posture that says "I could attack at any time, yet am ready to defend myself against the slightest provocation." Light levels low enough to allow him to pounce from the shadows, yet high enough to allow the gold accents to shine brightly in a way they could never do in the sunlight. This guy's a warrior, man. That's what Nike uniformz do for you in a way that boring Army gray or camouflage or regular black football uniforms could never do. That's special enough for anyone.

GO ARMY! GO NAVY!
GO USA!!!
...and screw the uniform haters. These guys can do whatever the hell they want when it comes to attire. PERIOD.
