Truly incredible flops by NW down the stretch.
A great showing by the ladies but too many turnovers to pull off the upset.

Seconding that StubHub’s…

Seconding that StubHub’s customer service absolutely sucks. I bought concert tickets through them a few months back and the delivered tickets were not the tickets I selected when making my purchase. Only way I could get a response from them was through Twitter DMs which was slow and obnoxious, and they ultimately did nothing to help me. Never using them again.

Night Shift has a restaurant…

Night Shift has a restaurant and brewery right next door to TD Garden at Lovejoy Wharf. Better experience than the OG taproom IMHO. Trillium in the Seaport is my favorite in the city these days (RIP Mystic).

Can literally anyone read the team records on the score bug? Seems completely pointless to include those when they’re in 4 pt font

My feed didn’t pick up until 3 seconds after puck drop, so maybe not just a “you” issue?

Was about to post the same…

Was about to post the same piece — I’ve been on a big Sufjan kick lately, and with the season approaching, I had to go back and re-read Eleven Swans just a couple days ago. It remains as potent as ever, and the closing might have to be my motto for this season, as well: “Play. Fight. Win. Please.”

Cheers to Brian for this site, for all these years of previews and recaps and breakdowns and recruiting and so on and so on and so on… (I’m grateful that my browser doesn’t track hours like Steam, because I can’t imagine how insanely big that number would be for MGoBlog)

I’m glad Brian is taking time for himself, and I hope that he is able to come back refreshed and with a renewed desire to write, but he certainly owes us nothing. Whatever he decides to do and whenever, I am grateful.

Thank you also to all of the writers and contributors, but especially Seth for keeping things going with the podcast and HTTV on top of the site.

I got my guys a leatherman, customized yeti travel mugs (monogrammed or relevant sports logos if monogramming wasn’t their style), and matching socks and ties for the wedding. Guys seemed excited and appreciative. Amusingly, I’ve gotten the most grateful comments about the least expensive thing— the socks...

Sad to see no Hockey East

Sad to see no Hockey East road game this year. Was always fun to see a strong road fan showing for all of us out by Boston. Might have to make a trip out for one/both of Clarkson/St. Law.

I can attest to the quality of the official 47 brand Woodson jerseys, looks and feels very legit.

Shift "ended" at 7, didn't actually get out until 8:30, enjoying breakfast now, have a band practice at 10, then finally to sleep around noon. Get up around 6 or so, get food ready and enjoy the game, then back to work. Thankfully my last weekend of overnights this college football season.

I'm also a big advocate for gifting alcohol. Sometimes I will just go with something safe that I know they like, maybe something more expensive that they don't normally splurge on, but if I can introduce them to something new that I think they'll like, that can be even better.

Parents paid about 30%, scholarships/other aid 45%, loans 25%. No idea how my parents paid as much as they did, and I've still got a lot in loans.

On the font page they show

On the font page they show the various wordmarks, and they include the classic script Michigan. I'd bet that makes an appearance on a hockey jersey.

Yep, glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

Doesn't mean I like the change, but it at least does have a history with Michigan.

MGoLEO here. I've only dealt

MGoLEO here. I've only dealt with a handful of cyberharrassment cases, and none of them were as drawn out as what you described. It can be tough when they're hiding behind anonymity, but the resources are generally there for the people responsible to be ID'd. My best advice is to document everything that's happened with as much detail as you're able and bring it to your local PD, and if they don't bring it up, ask about your locality's options as far as harrassment prevention/restraining orders. If your PD isn't particularly helpful or it seems like this is over their heads, give a call to your local district attorney's office; they might handle these types of cases more often often and know better how to assist you. Often these more complex and difficult to investigate situations can be coordinated on a county or state level-- we have state troopers assigned to our county DA's office that have assisted me on these types of investigations, for example.

I have faint memories of Cal

I have faint memories of Cal Ripken breaking the streak in '95, Tim Biakabatuka vs OSU in '95, and the Wings losing to the Avs in the 96 WCF, as well as generic memories of going to minor league baseball games in 95 and 96. 97 is the first year where I can remember really following things and starting to be an engaged fan with the Astros, Michigan football, the Red Wings and the Rochester Red Wings, who moved into a new stadium and won their league. Pretty good timing.

Totally agree about the cape

Totally agree about the cape league, fantastic experience.

Been to the Rochester Red Wings (Silver and Frontier) and Portland Sea Dogs the most, Buffalo Bisons once or twice. Big fan of Frontier and Hadlock, Coca-Cola Field feels a bit too big for a minor league park, at least when it's not full. Can sort of tell it was built with big league dreams. Need to make it out to the Lowell Spinners and PawSox sometime, have only heard good things.

Rutgers can rank no higher

Rutgers can rank no higher than 14th on our B10 rivals list. Chicago still has them beat, and if our lacrosse team can figure things out one of these years, Johns Hopkins could easily challenge Rutgers for #14.
