Welcome to MGoBlog Martavious Odoms!
It was easy to miss unless you were looking through old threads (as I was), but Martavious Odoms (http://mgoblog.com/users/martaviousodoms ) joined our MGoCommunity a few days ago. Here is what Tae had to say in a previous thread regarding the Hope for Pahokee Kickstarter:
"I would like to say that I'm do proud to be a graduate of the university of Michigan. I would like to take this time to thank all of the fans for the amazing support you have given me over the past four years. I also would like to thank everyone for the continued support shown off the field for hope for pahokee and #eating. It has not been all about giving money but all of the time and support has meant more to me then any of you understand. Again I cannot thank you all enough.
Martavious Odoms, Tae Odoms,Tae or odoms whatever you may call me thanks.
I miss my #9 jersey and having on my wing helmet already.
"
So everyone who hasn't had the chance and has the means to help, you still have time! It's a great cause represented by a true Michigan Man. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1021358459/hope-eating-from-garden-to-table-season-one?ref=live
P.S. We miss you out there too, Tae!
EDIT: Tracking the kickstarter, over 700 bucks from 20 pledgers have come in during the two hours since this thread started. Still a long way to go, though.

What if it's just RollDamnTide?!?!?!?!?!
September 12th, 2012 at 5:48 PM ^
I know it's a joke, but doesn't it just piss you off that one loser (RDT/WiaB) has made a whole community of fans less trustworthy.
September 12th, 2012 at 6:35 PM ^
You're telling me...
September 13th, 2012 at 8:31 AM ^
It has begun.

posting the Kickstarter link on my FB page daily asking people to do the same. The best way to spread the word, testing out the 6 degees.

What I found funny was how much people would get defensive over him. If anyone suggested "uh, guys, this sounds kinda fake to me...no Bama fan loves all things Michigan this much" you'd just get BOMBED for it. It is kinda hilarious in retrospect.
September 13th, 2012 at 9:36 AM ^
Not everyone is untrustworthy.
September 12th, 2012 at 5:52 PM ^
Great to have Tae on the site. I'd like to hear him as an "mgoblog analyst" in the mgopodcasts.
September 12th, 2012 at 6:12 PM ^
That is a great idea! David Merritt posts on umhoops, so why not?
September 12th, 2012 at 5:53 PM ^
Well whoever is running the Hope for Pahokee got $25 from me whether its Roll Damn Tide or not.
September 12th, 2012 at 6:04 PM ^
Seth or Brian have some pretty good confirmation that it's Odoms if he's posting under that name. Brian has gone through to check emails of breaking news sources and stuff like that, so I think he'd be on top of someone using a recent player's name to post with.
Edit: He got 100 modded points before he posted anything. Yeah, it's definitely him.
September 12th, 2012 at 8:44 PM ^
Yes, it's him. Odoms and his friend run the H.O.P.E site and kickstarter and I work with his friend. She asked me the other day where Odoms should post online because he wants to start talking about football and knows I'm obsessed with it. I suggested Mgoblog, obviously, but I also let her know to tell him to e-mail Brian to get Mgopoints for, well, being Odoms so he could post topics.
So with 100% certainty I can confirm it's him.
September 12th, 2012 at 8:52 PM ^
I can't wait to see some thoughts on all things football, plus MGoBlog probably gives him the biggest football related platform for his charity, at least from an internet perspective. Win-win situation here.
September 13th, 2012 at 8:57 AM ^
then how do we know that you are who you say you are? Who can vouch for you? ;-)
September 12th, 2012 at 10:22 PM ^
We've been emailing back & forth w/ him. It's legit.
September 12th, 2012 at 5:54 PM ^
It's great to have him here if we can't have him on the field putting linebackers on their asses...H.O.P.E. is a great idea.
September 12th, 2012 at 5:57 PM ^
For so many reasons, I hope it hits the mark.
Thanks for everything, Tae!

Hey Martavious, remember when you caught those TDs against Ohio and Nebraska?...that was awesome.

Reminds me of this:

I try to pay homage to the legend Chris Farley whenever possible.

I wish I got a post like this when I joined MGOBLOG. :(

You have more than 100 points, make one for yourself!
September 12th, 2012 at 6:53 PM ^
Will you make one for me a2_electricboogaloo?

Just donated a few shekel.
September 12th, 2012 at 6:17 PM ^
I'm really hoping this thing gets funded.
September 12th, 2012 at 6:18 PM ^
Welcome to the MGoBlog, Tae!
Very cool to have an alum of the team on here, I think. Definitely a unique perspective. Good luck with "Hope For Pahokee" too - awesome cause.
September 12th, 2012 at 6:18 PM ^
I wonder who will be the next Wolverine to join the blog? I hope its David Dawson. All the hell his tweets have put us through, it is the least he could do.
Oh, and welcome to the MGoBlog Tae!
September 12th, 2012 at 6:37 PM ^
I'd love to have Lloyd be an active user on here. Just to have him respond to off-season OT threads with something along the lines of "That's a stupid thread/question/etc."
Wouldn't it be hillarious if Section 1 were Carr playing devil's advocate?
September 12th, 2012 at 6:46 PM ^
List of people/entities who are more likely to post on MGoBlog than Lloyd Carr:
Jesus
Moses
Satan
Rich Rodriguez
Tom Brady
Bo Schembechler
Woody Hayes
Barack Obama
Mahmoud Ahmedinejad
Neil Armstrong
Justin Bieber
Ayn Rand
Che Guevara
September 12th, 2012 at 6:52 PM ^
with Obama, Ahmedinejad, Ayn Rand and Che Guevara would be interesting, to say the least.
I'd also be down to hear a Bieber/Hayes/Schembechler roundtable.
September 12th, 2012 at 6:56 PM ^
My guess is that Rand would complain about the lack of bubble screens in Borges' offense, Guevara would go on and on about how Rodriguez got a raw deal, Obama would talk vaguely about the virtues of a balanced offense without specifying what he means, and Ahmedinejad would be a guest blogger from Ohio State.
September 12th, 2012 at 7:04 PM ^
Rand- "Who is Lloyd Brady?"
Che- "The bubble screen is not an apple that will fall when ripe. You have to make it fall."
Obama- "Greg Mattison is the one we've been waiting for. He is the defensive coordinator we seek."
Ahmedinejad- "Happy Easter !!! Go Bucks !!!"
September 12th, 2012 at 7:39 PM ^
Jesus: "Experiencing that Alabama game and then coming back to beat Air Force the next week kind of reminded me of something..."
Moses: "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance that Denard will bring you today."
Satan: "I know we've only got two or three spots left in the 2013 class. But go ahead, Hoke, sign 10 more guys..."
Rich Rodriguez: "Am I an Arizona Man? The hell if I know."
Tom Brady: "I don't have time for this. My wife is Gisele Bundchen."
Bo Schembechler: "What the mind can conceive, mgoblog can achieve."
Woody Hayes: "----" (smashes microphone)
Barack Obama: "Don't let the DO be the enemy of the CA+."
Mahmoud Ahmedinejad: "Die you arrogant scUM."
Neil Armstrong: "It's one 87-yard touchdown run for Denard, one giant leap for Wolverine kind."
Justin Bieber: "And I was like, 'Borges, Borges, ohh..."
Ayn Rand: "Walk ons. Bah."
Che Guevara: "Let's be realistic: demand the MNC!"
September 12th, 2012 at 7:55 PM ^
If I were Brian, I would put Jesus in charge of the injury report. We would never have any injuries ever.
Also, Moses would have made one hell of an offensive line coach.
September 13th, 2012 at 7:00 AM ^
Well, that almost worked, except the right side of the line kept collapsing every time he put his arms down.
September 13th, 2012 at 8:13 AM ^
September 12th, 2012 at 6:56 PM ^
Miroslav Satan is a closet Michigan fan, he very well could be on here. And Jesus is a very popular hispanic name, wouldn't shock me if Jesus were indeed on here.
So with that said, I guess what you're telling me is that there is some chance Lloyd is here. Thanks for upping my hopes!

But seriously, glad to see Tae here. Hopefully everyone has HIT UP THE KICKSTARTER...
September 12th, 2012 at 6:26 PM ^
I respect Tae Odom's work in Pahokee.
Also, I hope he takes the opportunity on the blog to neg some fools to Bolivian.
September 12th, 2012 at 11:48 PM ^
He's always so positive! That's why we love him so!
Great work, Tae. Thanks for giving back, and thanks for joining in!
September 12th, 2012 at 6:35 PM ^
So, Tae, how wrong are all of our assumptions of the inner workings of the Michigan football program?
September 12th, 2012 at 6:59 PM ^
I wouldn't doubt if it is Odoms. A few weeks ago someone posted a link to HFP website ... something about the EAT tee shirts. I went to the site to buy some things since it is an awesome cause and I get to support somone from the university doing big things. The sites store wasn't working so i sent them an email explaining i got tot he site through a link on mgoblog.
if i lived anywhere near A2 I'd be all over the paintball or laser tag lol my kids would love it
September 13th, 2012 at 6:47 AM ^
The site should work now.
