A few interesting recruiting notes
Some of these are not Michigan updates, but interesting none the less.
-Robert Nkemdice (#1 prospect in the nation) is playing one hell of a hand of poker right now. It's rare in the SEC, that you get a recruit that no one can get a great read on. But the surprising thing with Robert, is he has legit interest in Ole Miss, and it doesn't seem to be "recruit speak". At the end of the day, I think he stays in Georgia, but again, I can't get a read on the situation, and that's purely speculation.
-Ty Isaac will actually be staying in Ann Arbor all weekend this weekend. That is a very good sign for Ty. If you remember, I had been saying earlier this week, that a lot of the recruiting people on the SEC boards, said expect him to come off the board soon. Ty himself has said he's not nearing a decision, but wanting to stay in Ann Arbor the entire weekend, is a good sign for Michigan. Stay tuned.
-Robert Foster, WR out of PA, and his Father are a tad confused by Urban Meyer apparently. There have been mixed signals by the Buckeye staff to both Laquon Treadwell, and Robert, for who is #1 WR target of their targets.
-Ruben Foster (#2 over all LB out of GA) commit to Alabama, is the best linebacker recruit in a decade according to talent evaluators who have watched him play. His future is probably on the inside, and is getting compared to Patrick Willis. Georgia is going full court on him right now, but there doesn't seem to be any worry on Alabama's part concerning his verbal.
If you guys like this, I'll be happy to post more recruiting updates from around the country. I didn't provide many this time, because I wasn't sure if anyone was interested.
Yeah, no one here is interested in recruiting updates...
/sarcasm
Thanks for the information. Here is to hoping Ty does the right thing and commits to U of M this weekend.
Keep it coming, RDT.
isaac says he wants to play in a pro style offense and wants to stay in the midwest... what other prominent programs does that leave for him besides michigan?
Also gotta believe he is keeping an eye on the O-line recruiting. Issac will be a road grader behind road graders.
were saying he's gonig to visit USC.
Michigan,i don't think he would go to any other BIG TEN team!!!
Michigan State?
EDIT in light of ChiBlue's post: mine was supposed to be sarcastic
just kidding
I like the SEC perspective you bring with your recruiting notes.
It's interesting to get a perspective from someone in a different conference, who is open to sharing useful recruiting news about Michigan and other places as well.
can you stay here even after we play in September? you just have it man
Yeah, I am wondering if the OP is ready for the vitriol he may or may not receive once that game draws nigh.
He's an SEC fan...he's used to it.
I'm sure Urban would not have told both Treadwell and Forster that they were their #1 WR target. That would be so unlike him to not be totally honest with recruits. /s
Jevan Snead and Tim Tebow all over again... except at the WR position. :) Urban doesn't lie.... except about his health. hahaha!
Mr. Foster? Laquon Tredwell? Oh, no worries. Ohio is recruiting him for the Linebacker position. Your son is our #1 WR target for 2012...... Urban Meyer
the worst early draft entering decision ever, or just awful?
Blue he can say the "other guy" is his number and didn't lose his #1 guy to Michigan. Don't doubt me.
Seriously, isn't it so easy to tell which team is the bad guy in this rivalry?
I'm sure that Urban only has one #1 wr that he wants. It is whichever one he happens to be talking to at the time.
Maybe you can be MGoBlog's new "Southeast Correspondent."
or S.E.C.
Keep 'em coming as far as I'm concerned RDT - thanks for all your good contributions to the blog.
I always like hearing big recruiting news from across the country... all potential future competition
Meyer lying to a recruit?!?! Never...
I'm all for any recruiting updates. Even if it doesn't involve Michigan, it is always interesting to read things from an SEC point of view.
I for one am interested. It's fun to see what is going on throughout college football and recruiting. Thanks for this RDT. I hope you continue to do these in the future.
Have you ever been negged?
I do know he was called out by Mike Valenti a little while ago, which is a pretty high honor if you ask me.
Are you serious? Wow... an MGoUser being called out by Valenti.
Do you happen to know what Valenti said?
I could be wrong, but I think that was a joke.
I would have thought that too but RDT made a post the other day about how he listened to Valenti and what a tool bag he thought he was. I know that Valenti checks this site, and it wouldn't surprise me if he googles himself on a daily basis. It just seems like it would make sense. But then again, you're probably right.
It was meant to be a joke but upon further research the quip I was referencing was indeed NOT from Mike Valenti. I apologize and will take my MgoMedicine as the users see fit
He googles himself, if that's what you kids are calling it these days...
Mgo-Kharma level is "5"
It would be cool to see a list of the mgoboard members with the highest karma levels, the "power users" I guess.
I enjoy reading rational posts from non-Michigan fans with interesting information. Ty Isaac is a must-get for Michigan this year. Hopefully he will join the Maize and Blue shortly.
Thanks for the info, Dixie version.
Just quickly denounce the houndstooth, go punch a dolphin, and swear allegiance to Brady Hoke and then BLAM! You're part of the club!
I can say with certainty that you are my favorite non Michigan poster on this board. Welcome. I dont know what your past is, or history or motives are, but I definitely like your contributions to this blog.
Additionally, and I am probably in the minority here, but I love the Alabama Football program. Don't love Saban, but I like 'Bama's history and tradition. Love their uniforms as well.
I've spent some time down in New Orleans and have driven through the state of Alabama on many occasions - always make it a point to stop in Tuscaloosa on the way down. Absolutely love the state of Alabama, driving through it is always fun - beautiful state. I actually stopped in Tuscaloosa during the Iron Bowl a few years ago on my way back to Michigan....GameDays don't seem as packed as they do in Ann Arbor, but that may have been because I drove through during the game, not before or after.
Keep it coming.....and hopefully we pound you come Labor Day weekend.
^^The Man, The Myth, The Legend.
RDT has brought out the OG of recruiting predictions.
This should help:
I feel the same way, Alabama is awesome to watch. I love the way they play the game, offensivley and especially defensivley. Not only are they big and talented but they play very fundamentally sound football and fly to the football. I've said it before but I honestly think that Hoke, Mattison etc. are building something similar here.
RDT, it would also be awesome to get your thoughts on how Bama played Urban Meyer when he was down at Florida.
I say keep it coming. Nice to see a reasoned SEC fan around these parts. While most of us are not Saban fans (this stems back to his Sparty time) I do believe that UM fans have respect for Alabama.
Here in Houston I have run into a couple of Florida fans and they are horrific acting like they've been a powerhouse for 100 years etc. Drives me nuts. You are alright in my book, not that my book has any merit.
However, my opinion of Saban did move slightly toward the favorable when he ranked U of M at 9 and MSU at 17 in the final coaches poll.

Good for him. I'll take one demerit away from him, only a thousand left.
Would you mind elaborating on the Robert Foster and Laquon Treadwell tidbit?
