It's Tom Beaver, so I really have trouble believing it. Anyway, he's been high on Bama and Oklahoma forever, it's a highly unlikely story. These kinds of rumors come out all the time for highly touted prospects, I wouldn't give it much credence.
The only thing that would make me give this even the slightest bit of credence is that Beaver is getting some of this stuff from Allen Trieu, who is a national guy and probably more reliable than Tom Beaver.
I don't know much about Tom Beaver. Does he just have a happy trigger finger when it comes to sharing rumors? Is his track record really terrible?
in that he's often the first person to know when someone has committed (Scout usually beats Rivals to the punch on that stuff).
He's just...indiscriminate. He'll pass on silent commitments that he's heard of from someone on the staff and rumors he's heard of from who knows where and won't make a clear distinction between the two. There's some "Michigan leads for recruit X!!!" stuff, which will be followed 2 weeks later by the guy committing elsewhere.
He's a good source if you take him with a grain of salt, which most Scout subscribers do not do.
rock solid and right on w/ his info. sometimes things change, but if he said @ pt. 1 it was A= it was in fact A.
I could be wrong here but I'm going to bet not... My sources say he's going to Southwest Los Angeles Community College Santa Monica Campus.

Ondre Pipkins is going to Saginaw Valley State... /s
I'm glad you included that /s

Must be why he is planning on making another visit to bama, after he just visited OU which was after he visited bama which was after he visited OU which was after he visited bama which just so happens to have been after he visited OU.
what possible bearing this could have on his college choice.
It's used to throw people off the real trail of schools he's actually considering...
like Dave Brandon's jet?
Gunner would not be worshipped in Indiana if he stayed...they don't care about football.
I won't believe anything until I see it at this point. Cannot believe anyone that is the top player in the nation at their postiion would consider Indiana. I just won't believe it. When is the last time Indiana got a 4*, let alone a 5*? Have they ever?
at least to some sites.
Can't imagine Randle-el wouldn't have been a 4 star just based on sheer athleticism.
James Hardy was only a two star
and wasn't Borges the OC at Indiana with Randle-El? If so, I doubt you'd have ever heard of R.El sans Borges.
Was not a bad player, though I don't know what his rating was going into college.
Still not a bad player, actually.
Eta: sorry, redundant, great minds and all that.
Raymon Taylor too. Getting commitments from and getting the players out on the field are two different things for them.
Does Jeremy Finch count?
To be devil's advocate, consider that if Kiel goes Blue, he'll probably redshirt his first season and then back up Devin Gardner for two years before getting a crack at the starting job--which he knows he'll have to compete with Shane Morris (and potentially others) for. But if he goes to IU, from where Ben Chappell has just graduated, Kiel likely starts as a freshman and plays four years. That's in addition to IU being a good school in a fun college town.
Eventually
performing mop up duty against said older brother may be equally awkward.
Their parents must have been expecting labradors but got children instead.
This comment also deserves way more than 5 pts.
They should get his dorm ready in A2
That would be a hell of a first commit for Indiana....
If they get him, IU should make it a one-man recruiting class this year just so they can claim the greatest recruiting class - in terms of average quality - in the history of college football.
Already said he'd be surprised if Kiel came to AA. Also, there are only two scout people I trust, and Allen Trieu is one of them.
Is there a contest here? Ann Arbor versus Bloomington?
One of them is a party school with tons of beautiful, fairly superficial teenaged girls. (Full disclosure: I am from Indiana.) The other has a great football tradition. It really depends on the kid's priorities.
If those are the 2 things he's looking for he would choose OHIO.
He must also love the smell of garbage for that to happen.
turn a blind eye to cheating.
Apparently it'd add to tradition
Don't underestimate Bobby Knight....he's pretty charismatic
Compliments to your name Mr Lahey, it is the SHIT!!!
Anyone have any insight into our chances with DGB if Kiel did commit here?
Slim and none, and slim just joined the Franciscan Order and gave up football.
Indiana would be the next best thing to Michigan. IU is Sparty's annual cross-over game. I've been trying to figure out how they're going to be good enough to knock Sparty off once in a while. Gunner would help.
Indiana??!? It's those damn pipeline points!!!
is that when I read your comment, I thought "sonuvabitch! That's so unrealistic, there's no way. . . " Then I realized that pipeline points are only in effect when I'm playing my 360. Well done.
See I thought it was because they got that x2 with those damn advisors. That or an A+ visit.
Proximity to Home and Playing Time were used for IU. UofM must of used Pro Potential, Program Tradition, and Television Exposure.
Quality over Quantity.
Tom VH has chosen to abstain from this thread. I'm not going to get my hopes up just yet.
He generally abstains from sharing things that he feels the athletes might not want known, though. If this Top 2 is just conjecture, or information that was not supposed to be shared, Tom wouldn't weigh in on it.
Well, he already addressed this by telling us not to get our hopes up. Tom is usually spot on when he says something like this. If we had a chance, he would have either not said anything at all, or told us about his good feeling.
I have posted this for a few weeks now. Indiana is the lock, bet the farm.
