Didn't realize he was on track to graduate after his true junior year. if that's the case then yeah he could play immediately and have 2 years of eligibility left I suppose.
|14 weeks 1 day ago||If he doesn't play he can be redshirted and gain||
If he doesn't play he can be redshirted and gain this year of eligibility back. He will still have to sit out a year if he transfers but that year sitting out doesn't effect playing eligibility.

There are rumors about Morris. If he really was second option on this team it seemed weird to openly discuss redshirting him so early on. I think he's indicated to the staff he would like to move on to a diff program at the end of the season and the redshirt is partially his own wish so that he can have 2 full seasons elsewhere. The Rudock injury is speculation based on his throwing motion and regression from last year.

The screen passes were removed not because they are big plays but because they are all YAC and not a realistic indicator of how good the passing game is. They are a valid indicator of the offense but not really a good indicator of how Rudock was throwing the ball. And I don't think anyone dislikes the big plays its just that the offense struggled to consistently get first downs against Maryland. That is a problem if we can't sustain drives like we did against BYU going forward.

Absolutely couldn't agree with this statement more. I would say that their year round selections, other then two hearted, are actually below average. And Oberon is garbage.

You lost all credibility for with the "Bells is outstanding" comment.
|29 weeks 4 days ago||It did? Please explain what||
It did? Please explain what point I missed. Brand recognition matters to an extent. Winning and player development matter more. The end. Harvard has great brand recognition. That data point means next to nothing without a competent football team to go along with it. But MSU is doing pretty well for themselves on the recruiting trail as of late even without a $100 million deal from Nike.

Or we could just win football games? That would probably be helpful.

Not the authentic Italian version with a suckling pig but I'll wrap a center cut pork loing in a huge piece of pork belly and roast on the smoker for 3 hours or so. I am a huge fan of the RecTec it allows me to not be attached to monitoring my fire for 6-12 hours when bbq'ing.

Oh, and run Bayshore in Traverse City in the spring if the oppurtunity comes up. That is a PR course and small scale marathon put on at a very high level.,
|44 weeks 4 days ago||We've only ever stayed at the||
We've only ever stayed at the RenCen, it is close and reasonable if you book through the detroit marathon link. The course is really nice, although most will tell you the back half is a little boring (it is) and sparsely populated by fans (true as well). Mostly flat course although the bridge will take its toll later in the race if you don't check your pace. You will have evil thoughts towards Belle isle forever - bridge incline mile 19 going on and 23 going off and will run into a head wind the entire time.
I've run 5 differennt courses and Detroit on 4 occasions, I think it's a fairly hard course. Running my first Boston in 2 weeks so I'm interested to see how it stacks up in comparison.
I was almost stopped heading into Canada by border police because my bib was concealed. I carry my enhanced ID for piece of mind by it probably isn't necessary although if you are stopped you are screwed. I've never seen anyone get stopped unless their bib is covered. Ambassodor bridge sunrise and coming out of the tunnel into America is unlike anything I've experienced in a race and for the cost I recommend.

One of those future pros was Griese, he started around 100 games if memory serves me right. Not saying he was a pro bowler but still it takes a little talent to accomplish that.

I have no love for Izzo, but it sounds like he considers pre-college activity to be the source of the problem. I don't necessarily agree with his assessment but I don't think he is taking any sort of shot at Michigan. I'm also not sure how the question was asked but the part about Lavert probably get's the lead because he was a more significan player then Bess. He says identical things about both guys so he is either taking shots at himself and our coach or just commenting on the issue with no agenda what-so-ever.
I'm not sure stress factures, tendonitis, or other over-use injuries are more common now but I think he has a point about taking time away to rest the body. Most of these injuries start as something the guys can play through so they do that and the cumulative effect sidelines them eventually.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||John Clayton already gave it||
John Clayton already gave it to you. He couldn't get an offer out of another NFL team because they all recognize his terrible personality will tear apart any organization he touches. So going back to college was his only option, you see? He literally begged Michigan to hire him.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||They basically made a front||
They basically made a front page story out of Schefter's tweet. I really can't remember if there ever was any integrity or investigative skill at ESPN back in the day, but now it is nothing more then sensationalized re-hashing of sporting events and news. They have nothing to offer when it comes to actual news stories and their "reporters" are ill equipped and trained to handle breaking news - they just don't have any practice at it.
Didn't basically the same thing happen with Mantei Teo? Didn't ESPN refuse to report and acknowledge sources outside of their own? I get needing to verify sources and not just recycling the reporting of others if you can't independently verify - but the bigger problem seems that they aren't getting any information of their own. Well except for Wiley and they seem to be ignoring him.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||I thought that too but||
I thought that too but "staffers" could be any of 100 employees. Could be the water boy or it could be their anonymous league source. Or it is made up bullshit - I could go either way.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||It's been about a week that||
It's been about a week that Brian has seemingly believed that there is a better then good chance that Harbaugh was coming to Michigan right? All of that has been based on what are probably reliable sources, but he's been saying for days that his email box is flooded with credible pieces of info that point to Harbaugh returning to Michigan. So why last night does he post a front page piece stating that he is 99% sure that it's a done deal? He has been saying all along it is happening unless Harbaugh has a last minute change of heart. Yesterday's post doesn't happen because he go a 1000 more pieces of circumstantial evidence - Harbaugh could still change his mind. That post only happens because Brian has very very very good reason to believe it is signed, sealed, and delivered in writing.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||Only a handful of people||
Only a handful of people would have been in that room, so his information is still second or third hand right? Credible, but there is still a margin of error in that it could be false. But my guess is he has credible information that there is a written agreement and all of the circumstantial evidence bolsters that piece of information.
|1 year 6 weeks ago||Agreed||
And to take it a step further I fully believe there is a signed contract at this point. Brian mentioned that he doesn't have a picture of a contract, but I don't think he says those words and puts himself out there with 99% certainty unless there is something in writing. Even the athletic department seems to be too leaky at this point for it not to be a done deal. I think the rumor mill in A2 is in full effect because slowly more and more people who need to prepare for next week are being fed details - Hackett doesn't allow this to happen unless it's a done deal already.

C'mon grow up and get some perspective, or get sober. Whichever helps more. HS football players sign with teams to get an education and play football at a high level. There are a lot of schools in this country which can give you an education on par with the University of Michigan, and I'm sure plenty of those have football programs that don't regress in developing their players. We are a shit-show right now whether you like it or not. Would you take a job with a company that was falling apart at the seams just because you have a sentimental attachement to it? Kids have to what is best for them. I hope we pull out of this someday soon but the recent history of this storied football program doesn't instill a lot of confidence or hope.
|1 year 12 weeks ago||So when people you don't know||
So when people you don't know continuously call your ugly-ass mom ugly you have no desire to rise to her defense? It's called civic pride. The fact that you call it a pretty crappy city means you probably grew up in Livonia or Farmington Hills and spent almost no appreciable time in Detroit. And having a measure of civic pride doesn't mean that you fail to recognize the many, many shortcomings that exist in the city.
Thin skinned enough for you?

I don't see where he even hinted at cutting a kid's scholarship. But maybe prepare (through recruiting) so that he never has to see the field again until the last snap of the last game of his senior year?
|1 year 20 weeks ago||The second option would be to||
The second option would be to sear, then rest for 10 minutes to allow heat to dissipate, then place on indirect heat until reaching desired temp, then rest again.
|1 year 20 weeks ago||The rationale for searing||
The rationale for searing right before the meat has hit ideal internal temp is that a good sear happens at 500+ degrees. Which means there is a lot of intense heat raising the interal temperature very quickly but not evenly. If I start my steak at 500 and move to 300 there is going to be more risidual heat on the outer portion of the steak but that heat won't necessarily have moved inside. So you won't get even distribution and if you aren't very careful the outer half of your steak will be well done while the interior is medium rare. If you do the sear at the end of the cook you can pull the meat off the heat which allows you to halt (well at least slow down relatively quickly) the cooking process.
|1 year 35 weeks ago||I don't think most people||
I don't think most people here are going to begrudge anyone for getting theirs. It's just that in no other sport does a head coach make approximately 30X as much as the most highly compensated player (legitimately compensated). So the head shaking doesn't have as much to do with him making that much but rather making that much in a system where those in charge claim the players are more then adequately "paid" for their 60 hour work week then turn around and dump wheel barrels full of cash in front of AD's, Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Recruiters, Trainers, you get the point right?
It's not like the conferences are getting the shaft on TV revenue either, they own the damn networks. So this is just another example of how flush with cash athletic departments are and how they have to find excuses to piss away the revenue while they cry about amateurism and how fearful they are that they will corrupt the innocent kids.
|1 year 41 weeks ago||But why would you think he||
But why would you think he would have a substance abuse problem because he tested positive for pot? I don't smoke the stuff and comments like this make me shake my head. This is 2014 right? If he got caught drinking a beer you wouldn't automatically worry that he was an alcoholic would you?
