Late Afternoon Games Thread

If you get bored watching Appalachian State play in the Sun Belt championship game at 4, you can always switch to the SEC game.  Roll tide, as much as it pains me to say that.

No not all of us can as I'm just now finding out.

DirectTV is in about their dozenth pissing match of the last 4 months with some station, CBS and some other local one apparently are the latest.  BLACKED OUT.  So sick of this bullshit.

I would dearly love to see the bullshit CFP committee forced to choose between their ostensible criteria (which clearly place Texas ahead of Alabama) and their clear allegiance to the money (ESPN having both the CFP TV rights and a partnership with the SEC).  My guess is that money will win over justice, but watching the assholes squirm to justify it would be delicious.

Having said that, my dream matchup is against Texas.  Their one meeting was an instant classic, and I'm thinking the second would be, also.

Though I won’t cheer hard for them, a Bama win would be nice…

IIRC, didn’t Michigan play Bama when there was a guy name Brady as Michigan’s QB?

Big 12 commissioner was laughing and having the time of his life at the podium today with Texas.

Will Pettiti show his face tonight?

I think we are rooting for Bama, correct? Hmmm....  It's not so simple.

There are scenarios where Bama wins, UM moves to the #1 seed, GA still makes the CFP, and #1 UM has to face #4 GA in the semi-finals.  Uhhh.  No way in hell do I want to play GA in the semi-finals.

This same scenario could put Bama into the #4 spot, and keep GA from making the CFP.  I suspect this is the more likely option, but what I wrote earlier is a possibility.

Perhaps what we want is Bama to stomp GA.  Then GA definitely doesnt get into the CFP.

So many different scenarios if Bama wins this game.  Overall, I guess UM fans want Bama to win, because getting that #1 seed gives more advantages over more scenarios than sitting at the #2 seed.
