Bravo for finding your way.
|1 hour 52 min ago||Very short article||
But very big picture.
|7 hours 49 min ago||Oh.||
So you're telling me Peter Griffin isn't a congressman and I didn't have to worry about crossing over into politics?
|8 hours 17 min ago||This actually goes up there||
But I couldn't decide between "Obligatory" and "Mott" - so I'll go with the T-shirt section.

Guess you weren't watching the NE-Jets game today. Every time I looked up, poor Brady was on his back. The Pats still eked out a win (by a point) over the 3-win Jets, but the O-Line didn't seem to helping much. (And yes, Edelman was out.)

and saw the Gametracker had a picture of Fitz, as he'd made the last play of the game.
Last Play - 00:34 Q4
(:34) (Shotgun) F.Toussaint up the middle to BAL 40 for 5 yards (K.Jackson).
Actually made the last two plays: The penultimate a 15-yard reception (most of it looks like yards after the catch). His long rush was 12 yards, but the total of 11 yards rushing on 4 carries implies he got pushed back for a couple.
Nevertheless, pretty nice to see for his first actual playing time.

David Harris with a lot of highlight tackling early in the game. Their unsung hero, but hard to watch him laying into Brady with such force.

and approved. But looks like they're private companies:
Apparently the stem cell clinical trial is held at Novastem, "a licensed distributor of Stemedica’s products" in Mexico. And...

An article about hockey in Houghton. Thought of posting it, but it quotes a former Michigan assistant coach who doesn't say anything about returning to Ann Arbor.

and a dollar amount and pundit saying some grass is always greener warning kind of thing...
They've got to talk about the actual game once it begins, right?
|2 days 20 hours ago||I think that's a "roomie."||
I believe a roomer is someone who pays to stay at a rooming house (a "boarder" implies they get board as well, a/k/a vituals). Rooming houses were often found in towns such as those where transients specculated for gold and stuff-like.
|6 days 4 hours ago||Actually, all of the above make it possible.||
The "Wandering Jew" wandered all over the place. Sometimes people know there's a Jewish ancestor somewhere, sometimes people have no idea because hiding was part of survival.
But whether or not there are some genes hiding in there somewhere, have some latkes on us. (My Jewish roots include Spanish, Middle Eastern, German and Polish, with relatives in France, Australia, South America and who knows where else, but even I never had sour cream with my latkes! So you've got one up on me.)

Just wanted to celebrate your getting this health thing figured out. Controlling it is next, but what a relief having the doctors know what it is they're trying to control!
Not nearly as serious as what you've been dealing with, but knowing what you're dealing with can be medicine in itself. I had food intolerances all my life but didn't know it until I started asking questions at the UofM Allergy Clinic back when not much was known about such things. What a relief to find out it wasn't all in my head and was so simple to fix! Yours may not be as simple, but boy, knowing is good.

Don't remember the thread or the exact topic, but it was recent and supportive of the team. I remember wondering where he was and what he was up to now, but I'm not surprised that he would think highly of Hoke. He was supportive of Daryl in the way a good father would be, helping him face his problems, but insisting he paid penance, hoping he'd learn, giving him chances, but making it clear where the extra chances would stop.
|3 weeks 22 hours ago||Um... Did you notice when he joined the board?||
It wasn't just today to flame. Have you ever considered that someone could be sincere and decent AND be an OSU fan?

Does a redshirt have to wear a suit and tie to be allowed Bench Mob performance under NCAA rules?
|3 weeks 1 day ago||From what I saw on TV||
he wasn't smiling while he was talking on the phone but after he saw it was being televised, perhaps out of embarrassment. He did look quite serious in the conversation before that. (Maybe it was the person on the phone who told him he was being watched?)

and if that's his legacy for his time here, it may be worth more than all the stats and wins he might have accumulated.
May it go viral.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||Ah. Mixed it up with BTN2GO.||
Obviously I have neither.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||So he must be "@Lanky_Smoove"||
Hope so, at least so that there aren't three out.
|3 weeks 2 days ago||If he has BTN||
he can stream BTNPlus, right?
|3 weeks 2 days ago||BTNPlus, whatever that means.||
Tweet alongside game page on MGoBlue.com says Walton is out ("ankle"), as is "@Lanky_Smoove" for them's that knows their tweeters ("knee").
|3 weeks 2 days ago||At halftime.. You've both under-estimated the M score!||
I wasn't going to watch the game (so much for good/bad intentions), but no matter what, I'd definitely planned to read your columns.
As most comedians will admit, comedy comes from pain. And it has a way of easing the pain for others. You have a lot to do with the smile on my face, since there's still another half to go.
So thanks, guys, for keeping up the good work.

HOLIDAY30. Not good for kindle or audio!! Must support paper books as well as MGoBlog! Feed that tactile obsession! (Unless they're doing this to clear out the paper. Sigh.) 30% off single book.
PS: Does it help MGoBlog more to click there at the link than on one of the Amazon ads that show up in the ad columns?
EDIT: Small print said shipping may be added, implying that if you qualify for free delivery that may be wiped out. So buyer beware. Buying a single paperback won't make much sense, with shipping that's double the discount. So I think I'll use that for my beveled guilt and turn to the huge pile of paper books already here waiting for me.

and the splashes of light in the darkness. As if there's still-- dare I say it-- hope?

|3 weeks 4 days ago||Was told that it WAS a high school band.||
Small, very young-looking contingent, so at first I joked that it was a junior intern squad. (Too many upperclassmen going pro early.) Just wish they'd announced it so that people would have cheered them on and appreciated their filling in instead of giving the impression our real band had fallen on hard times.
No cheerleaders, either, so somebody wasn't paying for the trip. Or knew that the priority was their 9:00 am classes the next morning.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||VCU had a real band at their Barclays game v. Oregon||
and they were terrific. Lots of very large brass instruments, and obviously very strong musicians, since they were bouncing and dancing with all that heavy brass. The Oregon had a band, too, that was more traditional. But the VCU bandsfolk were singing and dancing along with several of Oregon's more popular numbers.
And Oregon's band played a slightly tinkered-with version of Let's Go Blue, so the M people already in the audience gave a very nice [loud] response with our non-tinkered-with lyrics.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||As for the difference in the Oregon play||
Last night one of Oregon's players turned his ankle late in the game, clearly in pain and having to be helped off the court. The commentators suggested at the time he was one of their better players. Being there live tonight, I looked for him in the VCU game, and finally spotted him in a boot and not dressed. No way of knowing how that hobbled their team, but could have made the difference. Not that VCU didn't look good. (And had a great pep band.)
As for our game tonight, it was thrilling live. When our guys played well, they played very, very well. Ace summarized my feelings exactly. Very impressed with their defense, especially hearing the criticism in earlier games. And in stretches, their speed and ball-handling was dazzling. Yes, there were the messy parts, and the questionable officiating.
Just like last year, what a pleasure to see the youngsters early, and to see them learn so quickly! (At least one of the Villanova players looked like he could have been the father of a couple of ours.)

Guess I'll have to take the subway home really late tomorrow night. The sacrifices we have to make for a winning team.
