Relax, all right? My old man is a television repairman...

he's got the ultimate set of tools. I can fix it!

So here are 5 fixes:

1. Dylan starts the day he's healthy. Period. Leadership and ball security matter - a lot.

2. Mason returns to RB even if he never touches the ball again - pass pro requires it when ZC and Tru are out. Plus, he's ridiculously undersized for DL in Big Ten play.

3. Hinton and Mazi play right now - limited roles to spell Kemp, Jeter, Dwomfour.

4. Aidan never plays another down as an inside lineman. The kid is a natural beast of a DE, use his talents appropriately. We've lost containment on the edge way too often with him inside

5. Dax replaces Hawkins immediately.  Ready or not - deal with it.

We won't face another team who can exploit our D-line weakness like Wisco did until 10/26. Plenty of time to get this ship in shape before it sinks.

I wanted to neg this because of the title, but I agree with everything you mentioned.

Of course we arent at practice, so we have no clue how Dax, Mazi and Hinton look. It cant be great if they cant get on the field.

Hawkins is not good and I definitley think it is time to get your all world 5* safety into the fire now. Rutgers is the perfect time to get your first start. If he struggles, then you put your veteran safety back in.

Here’s the thing, you can’t always tell how someone plays in games via practice. Sometimes, there are practice players that don’t show up in games, and vice versa. I’m all for letting the highly touted recruits play up to see where we come out. The anointed starters are less than great, so not sure how much you give up by playing less experienced but potentially more athletic players

I agree on all points but missed out on Hawkins playing poorly. I guess  it was hard to dig out during the game with all of the other shit that was going wrong.

I was at the game and the Wisconsin fans booed the ejection.  From the stands the hit was an obvious targeting call and totally unnecessary.  Wisconsin can be happy for their team, but they should be ashamed of their fans.   Coincidentally one of our guy's uber drivers claimed to be the replay dude.  He said that anything remotely for the other team (Michigan) shouldn't be replayed.   They did not show the replay of that hit at all.

1. I'm on board with this

2. Yes please

3. Why?  If they aren't better than Kemp, Jeter, and Dwomfour then why play them?  Seems counterproductive.

4. Agreed

5. I haven't noticed Hawkins being much of a liability.  Again, if Dax isn't better than Hawkins then why would you start him?  Seems counterproductive.

I think #3 & #5 are about upside and potential. Sometimes you have to play them to see what you have and every now and again it takes playing meaningful snaps to turn the light on for them.

Dax is talented enough to only play three years, so let’s play him three years. We might have a few bumps in the road along the way but it could pay huge dividends at the end of the season. - Then again he could blow a coverage that costs us the game. I would take my chances on a future AA to develop quickly.

I like it except I think Mason should go back to his full time FB duties like he did in the good old days.  Get him some work in practice so he gets comfortable with ball security and use him when you need a yard.  I miss that stretch of years with the Hammering Panda and then Mason when they almost always got that much needed yard.
