My understanding is the waterfall is actually one of those cool Kohler faucets to fill the tubs. That is not as cool as the idea of a serenity room though. |
| 4 days 2 hours ago | Saban QBs |
Don't read anything into Saban recruiting QBs. He has recruited a grand total of one starter of Alabama. Wilson and McElroy were both Shula guys and AJ is it. He has a good history of getting good guys who see the situation and transfer. |

So Amari Cooper is nothing? ;) |

That is why I was saying they only play two teams this year. Look I am a total UA homer but I think it is ridiculous that they were given a walk this year. They will always play UT in the East but the rotating game was changed to UK. UK that finished at the bottom on the East last year and both of those teams just fired their coaches. In fact, they are playing every team in the SEC that fired their coach last year. I am just at a loss on why they are rated so high for SOS. To his credit CNS is pushing for 9 SEC games and 1 out of conference BCS game (like Michigan last year and MSU starting soon) as a conference rule but the vote was 1-13 against the change. Les Miles says it is not fair that UA plays Tennessee when LSU plays Florida as a perm cross division rival. I think the SEC gave a slow pitch softball to UA and UGA so that they have a good chance of going undefeated in regular play so the SEC champ has the best possible shot at the BCS championship. UGA does have LSU though so they have the edge as far as conference schedule goes (since UGA has Auburn as the perm rival and that game is just as much a give me as the Kentucky game for Alabama). |

Alabama is 35th? That is way too high considering they play 2 real teams this year. The fix is in. |

I don't know how much is strength of schedule. It is really just trying to balance the money on each side. The point spread is not a prediction in the strict sense. |

http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2013/5/28/4373224/nick-saban-ohio-state-sec "Saban may have used Ohio State by name, but his statement really applies to every non-SEC contender. "They don't play as tough a schedule as us." It's true, but he's blowing things out of proportion. Due to conference divisions, no team in the SEC has to play every other top team. It makes for a good sound byte, though, and it serves his program's purposes to further reinforce just how much more difficult the SEC is. The media listens when he speaks, and he knows it. People revere/fear Saban as a no-nonsense cyborg who only cares about making his team better. It's The Process. He doesn't have time for this s***. It would seem, though, he does appear to have time to play politics with the media. |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | He didn't leave Florida |
He didn't leave Florida because it was hard to recruit. Florida and Georgia don't over sign but that just means they do like other schools and force out in the fall instead of the spring. |
| 3 weeks 5 days ago | That would be interesting. |
That would be interesting. Maybe after UA finishes home and home with MSU. Saban wants to move to playing more top conference opponents. |

Because keeping Saban in the news in Florida is the best way to stop him from pulling top recruits to Alabama. |

Just curious but have you looked at the graduation rates? Further have you looked at what attrition looked like across the conferences? You may be surprised. |

The work has been done as far as rankings go. http://preseason.stassen.com/over-under/all-teams.html
They look at preseason and final ranking to determine how over or under rated a team was for a given year and then give year by year results for analysis.

They had a total of 11 players drafted. They are in Florida so they can't help but pull in a good deal of talent. |

I presume it was for a combination of money and access. Tennessee is in a bad way right now but if a person is able to step in and help do a turn around then that will help leap frog into an AD position somewhere else and make even more. I don't know how much the city itself plays into the decision since there is so much job hopping anyway. |

| 6 weeks 5 days ago | Only if they expand and pick |
Only if they expand and pick up two teams out of the ACC. Mizzou going West means Auburn goes East and Alabama will not allow that because they would have better access to Florida and Georgia (also known as the land blessed by the football gods). |
| 6 weeks 5 days ago | Have you actually looked at |
Have you actually looked at the number of players making it 4 years in the different conferences? Retention is not really great in one conference and terrible in the other. I do recall complaints about too many medicals which would be the school giving the kid the full ride without expecting them to play. |
| 6 weeks 6 days ago | It is really hard to convince |
It is really hard to convince a 20 year old kid that though. The person in the article was a player at USCe which puts a good number in the NFL. After all, that guy did get a call up since he was able to walk up and it was after the medical that he was released. These kids, particularly at schools that place a lot, constantly hear how they are going to be ready for the next level. Just look at the last draft. Alabama had 9 graduating seniors and three juniors leave early. 9 of that group were drafted and the other 3 are free agent signers meaning they are all on NFL rosters at least for the spring. I don't know how many kids will really focus on finishing up that degree no matter how much you talk to them. |

You guys don't think he would be too slow? Just seems to be timid in the two games I saw him in last year. |

Not to mention A&M beat Alabama when it counted. Something Texas didn't do a few years ago. |
| 7 weeks 1 day ago | The comparison is always |
The comparison is always interesting. The SEC numbers were unreal (SEC East took more than any conference and SEC West tied with the ACC at 31 total pics) but that was driven by the usual suspects. UA, LSU, UGA, and UF combined for more than any conference. That is naturally driven mostly by demographics. I am curious where the numbers will be 3 years from now. |
