I am afraid I have no idea what the Denver Alumni organization is doing, but you have motivated me to get connected. Nice job U of M Club of Greater Toledo !

Morrisey

Most Morrisey thing I have read in some time

Two things

I thought subbing out a cold shooting Stauskas for Levert and his defense against a hot shooting Fair helped turn things in the first half.

I had questioned many times during the conference season why Spike and Levert were getting minutes in pressure situations in "big"games. I see the brilliance in those decisions now.

I agree

Though this appears to be an unpopular stance, posting this kind of information here is a bit of a boundary violation for those coming to a Michigan blog as an escape from the world's challenges. Clearly losses in the Michigan sports community should be addressed here as this blog community is connected in a sense to our players, staff, etc. but I personally would prefer not to be exposed to traumatic news such as this when it holds no relevancy to the blog's content. I do understand the need/desire to connect with others when exposed to such traumatic news, but consideration should be given to the audience and their needs as well. For example, one probably wouldn't share this bit of news with someone who themselves are dealing with a significant loss- and given that we have no idea what other readers are going through, it would be prudent to assume there are other readers experiencing losses themselves, or just don't want to be exposed to this kind of news for whatever reason.

Agreed.

It appears he pulls it off his hip, off the ground, and into position so quickly that timing is not thrown off at all.

Also, I am feeling even more strongly that an accurate long snapper is a pretty nice thing to have.

I appreciate your moderating comments clearly intended to instigate. Too many people making offensive comments on this board for my (admittedly delicate) tastes.

Loyalty

I, too, am impressed by Denard's loyalty, and wonder how many others might have chosen to leave if Denard had left.

I also believe (I haven't heard this anywhere, just a gut feeling) that the coaches have been loyal in return in developing him as an NFL prospect at quarterback. They have used all of the nonconference games to do so, and I believe this will continue into the B1G season, but  with a shorter leash, resorting sooner to utilizing his running skills if the passing game is a detriment.

That was Sheldon Day

According to the ND rival's page he returned in the second half. I don't remember hearing his name called though.

Thank you Christina,

mgoweather has become part of my football Saturday tradition, and I can't even make it back for the vast majority of the games. Even so, I am excited to have some Fall football weather!

Why is missing game time the

Why is missing game time the standard punishment for criminal behavior?  I would rather see a player lose driving privileges and have mandatory substance abuse counseling for drunk driving, and perhaps do some community service educating incoming freshmen on the dangers of alcohol abuse (at least for first time offenders). For situations like Mr. Clark's, I would like to see him make reparations of his own, compensating the victim of theft for his/her loss and then addressing the larger dorm community as a whole. The community service aspect might include an educational piece on dorm safety or some such.

Do you really think he got

Do you really think he got past "You, sir, are an unmitigated idiot" to the part where you shared potentially useful advice? Save the name calling for the refs.

No, no one is saying that it

No, no one is saying that it can't happen here. In fact, before the OP, no one was even discussing the matter as it pertains to each of us individually and collectively at all- which I believe was the intent of the OP.

What I took from the post was the value in taking a step back, recognizing my own potential for making a similar mistake to those at PSU, and figuring out how to prevent that from happening in my own life and work place.

There is a lesson to be learned from this ugly situation, and if I get too caught up in flaming with righteous indignation it could very well be missed.

This is definitely one of the best OT posts (the original post, that is) I have read on this blog.

stats

I found these in the write-up after the video. He was apparently thrown at four times in zone allowing 3 receptions, one a touchdown. In man he was thrown at 13 times, giving up 3 receptions with the interception and 5 PBU's.

Also, it appeared that they were not throwing any underneath stuff in this competition, which might explain the cushion he was giving at the line of scrimmage, though it was also apparent he was comfortable allowing receivers to break away from him a bit too far at times. I wonder how much of this is a result of fatigue from chasing deep routes all day? Or from rarely being thrown at and trying to bait the qb into giving him some action?

So what does make a phrase

So what does make a phrase that the majority of people understands the meaning of "right" (or wrong)? My understanding is that there exist competing schools of thought on this matter.

Welcome to Denver!

For your game day viewing pleasure, be sure to come down to Lodo's at 20th and Market.

For me it was Old Speckled Hen tonight, and some cheap champagne, in celebration of my buddy's wife's birthday.

It seems to me that at this

It seems to me that at this point, in the interest of "fairness," we should just do away with naming a "national champion." Clearly there is very little interest on the part of the conference commissioners to come up with a way to develop a system that removes any doubt from the fans' minds who the best team in the nation is any given year. How can we possibly identify one team, from a college system that permits individual institutions/conferences to operate under different guidelines, as being better than the others? Until all conferences and schools have the same guidelines and restrictions "fairness" will never be an option.

I would prefer we just leave things as they were "back in the day" when the games were played for competition's sake and the rewards were the bowl games themselves.

One would think he would be

One would think he would be given a room after recording ten tackles per game over the final two games.

My 2 cents

If you are questioning whether what you are doing is right or wrong, that might be your moral compass already having given you the answer.

Consider the well-being of a kid above your love for the insitution.

Ask yourself "If this was my kid, would I want a strange adult interacting with them (in the way you are thinking about interacting with them)"?

I love Michigan as much as anyone, and I am sure it is not the right place for everyone.

Chuckled

Your use of "chuckled" caused me to let out a guffaw (though without any projectile).

Gatorade and Dramamine or

Gatorade and Dramamine or other motion sickness medication makes for a great "cure". It's a little miracle.

My 2 cents

"If it truly was a significant factor why would he have left Michigan in the first place?" It is possible that his father's condition worsened. Or he may have been convinced that going to UT was in the best interest of everyone for the long term and came to recognize that he was needed at home immediately.

"Why would he really care where he transfers if his dad's health was his number priority?" Because he is also interested in his own future, which I imagine would also fall somewhere very high on his list of priorities.

"If it were me I'd leave no matter what the conditions were." It is my understanding that DeAnthony intends to leave regardless of the terms of his release. He is just asking that he be allowed to attend the university that will afford him the best education and opportunity to further develop his skills as a football player.
