Iowa Signs Marketing Deal With Anheuser-Busch

Link

Under the agreement approved this month by the university's athletic department, the Tigerhawk may now appear alongside Anheuser-Busch beer logos, such as Budweiser, Busch, Michelob and Natural Light, on retail displays and promotional giveaways.

Iowa is putting all the money into their booze awareness fund. Which of course lets them claim somewhat of a moral high ground on this and of course free up the money from the general fund that was previously supporting booze awareness. I'm not a big fan of this move and hopefully we don't follow suit.

2004 was the last season when beer was sold in the Coliseum.  It was a bit of a clusterfuck when they did it (crazy lines, easy to bribe workers to ignore the 2 per person limit, etc.) but it was still a lot calmer than the following season when I remember seeing a lot more passing out and puking in the aisles by students who had overcompensated to make up for the lack of in-stadium booze.
