I thought, for a moment, that they were all going to dance Gangnam style together. Is the hot chick BB's wife? The one he met on a blackjack table? |
| 23 weeks 5 days ago | I heard UW athletic dept |
I heard UW athletic dept had nearly $40million in PROFIT last year, and we all know that majority of the profit is through football. $600k difference (plus let's say extra $1M for assistants) isn't much when this context is taken into account. My guess is that, in BA's mind, BB was replaceable. I agree. |

The line will be something like FSU -21.5. And I will take NIU +21.5 any day.

Didn't Musburger sort of diss Woodson? He brought up a table with #Tackles, #TFL, #INT for both Teo and Woodson and said "The most recent defensive player who won the Heisman was Charles Woodson... and compare him to Teo." Of course, Teo has twice as many tackles because he is a CB fergodsakes. I like Manti, but let me know when Manti plays offense and special team as well ... and when he scores a few TD's. |

Agreed. That thing on our shoulder last year was not a monkey. It was a gigantic male gorilla humping on you. Thank God we got rid of it. |

Campbell is not a great QB anyways, but he had no chance tonight at all behind that horrible O line. OTOH, niner's QB looked like Tom Brady with speed. He was really really good. |

Maybe this is a reaction to the MooU's move to ACC. :) MooU out, MD/RU in.... not bad IMO. |
| 27 weeks 11 hours ago | Fund management industry |
Fund management industry uses percentage points rather than absolute amounts for performance comparison. When they say "Harvard got hit hard during the recent financial crisis," that means their loss in percentage points is large, not the absolute amount itself. I was asking because of Bluesnu's comments on "greater investment in divergent areas which may have a higher risk/return," which sounds counter-intuitive to me. That's the opposite of modern portfolio theories, I believe. |
| 27 weeks 12 hours ago | You sound pretty |
You sound pretty knowledgeable about this topic. But IIRC, isn't the idea behind diversifying exactly the opposite of what you just mentioned? I thoght, in general, you can reduce your risk by diversification. |

- As another poster pointed out, MSU/NEB was definitely OVER. Don't ask me why I remember so well. - If I bet on NW, I would buy some points to go with NW +14. I don't think we can beat NW by 2TDs, with our without Denard. - Minn covers and wins. Minny is getting better and better as Nelson takes more snaps and Barker getting healthier. - Indiana covers. TD, Houston. - Iowa covers. I never underestimate that pink room.
- Oregon, aka the cover machine, will cover.

| 28 weeks 6 days ago | I agree that Bellomy is not |
I agree that Bellomy is not that slow. In the Neb game and in high school highligts, the kid got some speed, especially for his size. |
| 28 weeks 6 days ago | Bellomy is a RS frosh. His |
Bellomy is a RS frosh. His sub is a 5 star junior QB with more game time expreience (who actually takes some snaps during practice as well). If I were Bellomy, I wouldn't feel discouraged so much by being substituted. |
| 28 weeks 6 days ago | Where on earth am I burning |
Where on earth am I burning Bellomy? Learn to READ before making comments. I find it ridiculous that many of you ASSUME that Bellomy is so fragile and his confidence will be totally killed after one bad outing. You are the one who's treating Bellomy like a girl, when I presume that he is a man enough to take it and move on. |
| 28 weeks 6 days ago | Most of us with his right |
Most of us with his right mind is blaming coaches, not the poor kid who was thrown into a bad bad situation. |
| 28 weeks 6 days ago | We may have saved Bellomy's |
We may have saved Bellomy's mental, but the mojo of the entire Michigan offense is now crushed likely along with our Rose Bowl bid. Is Bellomy's mental so imporant to sacrifice all this? I don't agree.
BTW, why do you really think Bellomy's mental is so fragile? If so, Bellomy might have preferred being pulled out of the misery he was in. I would argue that 3-14 (or something) with 3 interception will actually do more harm. |
| 28 weeks 6 days ago | Well, when Bellomy was in, |
Well, when Bellomy was in, we were not really running fancy schemes with bells and whistles. As coaches mentioned after the game, we ran simple schemes to get Bellamy in rhythm. Why can we not do this with DG when Bellomy was failing miserably, even if he didn't take enough number of snaps during practice? (According to interviews, Devin DID take some snaps during the week.) Do we really think a 5-star QB with more gametime experience will not be able to throw basic pass? I cannot really buy this "Since Borges' scheme is heavily based on complexity, a QB without enough practice cannot play in game time." argument.
Besides, if Bellomy is so fragile and his mental was going to be totally destroyed if yanked out in the middle of the game, I bet he is not a real QB material at this level. |
| 29 weeks 6 hours ago | C'mon. That game came down |
C'mon. That game came down to an onside kick. It's close enough in a SHOOT OUT. |
| 29 weeks 6 hours ago | I have short and short |
I have short and short answers for you.
Without Denard or with not-so-healthy Denard: No, Michigan will lose the game. With healthy Denard: Michigan wins. Michigan's D can put up a fight againt OSU offense, but OSU's D cannot. Keep in mind. Michigan's offense is much more potent than any stats show, with healthy Deanrd. Oh yeah... our team gells, too. |
| 29 weeks 7 hours ago | As of now, Denard is still |
As of now, Denard is still recovering. Our backup QB is Michigan's version of Bauserman. Do you think Bauserman can beat Miller? Right. I didn't think so. |
| 29 weeks 14 hours ago | Denard gets injured, and |
Denard gets injured, and DG's shoulder is ready to take snaps? I am not naive enough to believe such a coincidence. Besides, recent (post-Neb game) interviews indicate that DG took some snaps during the past week but didn't take "enough" snaps to sub Bellomy.
Above all, do you really believe that DG was healthy enough to play WR but not so much to throw a ball? Separated shoulder injury usually occurs/aggravates due to sudden impact on your shoulder, and WR's take sh** loads of hits and impacts. Do you think they would clear DG to play WR if he has a seprated shoulder, severe enough to keep him from throwing? |
| 29 weeks 14 hours ago | Basically debunks all the |
Basically debunks all the speculations that DG's shoulder injury was what kept him from the QB job last Sat. We all know separated shoulder or simiar injuries don't heal overnight. DG should be our 2nd string QB on the depth chart and should start taking more snaps no matter how Denard feels. We learned this hard way. |
| 29 weeks 1 day ago | Agreed. The first thing |
Agreed. The first thing Hoke said about our performance was "We didn't tackle very well."?!?!?! Jesus Christ, holy molly.... I was like "WTF, man?? IT WAS OFFENSE, s*****."
Dear Coach Hoke, I respect you as our coach and I am glad that you are here as our coach... Heck, you've already done more than what your predecessor achieved over 3 years. But I sincerely hope we, as fans, don't have to hear about these BS excuses from you any more. It wasn't the defense that brought us all the great memories from 2008 and you know it too well. Rather than insulting us, please... If it's a spade, call it a spade. I don't know whether it's your way of protecting Bellomy and other student athletes, but nobody in his right mind is blaming student athletes here. We are all blaming you and your staffs for not properly grooming the 2nd most important player in any football team. So please, man up and stop bs'ing with bogus excuses. |
| 29 weeks 1 day ago | I just don't understand |
I just don't understand what kind of injury would allow you to play at WR and not at QB. Yes, you need your shoulder to be healthy for QB's for sure, but you don't really want to have a kid playing WR if he has a separted shoulder of a degree that keeps him from throwing balls. As a WR, you have to take lots of hits and impacts on your shoulder in addition to all kinds of shoving and pushing. |
| 29 weeks 2 days ago | But it would certainly |
It would certainly limit Denard in his rushing no matter how severe the inury is, at least for a few weeks. You do not want to keep Denard hitting the ground with his right elbow in the near future. What bothered me most was that he didn't do anything on the sideline during the game, which means that the damage could be rather severe. |
