I had a hard time getting through it. The story is good. When Wilde is progressing the story it is interesting and well done.

Then he spends 3 or 4 pages talking about how beautiful Dorian is. Or a couple pages talking about how beautiful something else is. He did this frequently. The only reason I kept going through those parts is that the story was good enough that I wanted to get back to the actual plot.

I prefer his plays, his wit and wisdom is always fun, but Dorian Gray was twice as long as it needed to be, full of fluff, and overrated as a book, but not as a story (make sense?).

Running it out puts the ball at risk to being fumbled.  Better to down it in the EZ and ensure having the ball for the next play.  18 years ago I watched in horror as Woodson tried to run out of the EZ during the OSU game, I was relieved when he slipped and had to down it in the EZ.
