Computer science at Michigan…

Computer science at Michigan "not the most intense"? I didn't do it, but it seemed pretty damn intense for a few friends. Lots of large, time-consuming projects and the material is far from easy.

Good argument. Keep sucking…

Good argument. Keep sucking Tom's dick just because he played football at Michigan. Imagine if there was video of OSU players celebrating their playoff berth with a big maskless party. All you morons would be calling for their heads.

These giant maskless boat…

These giant maskless boat parties are definitely not a good look as thousands of people die from COVID every day. Weren't both of Tom's parents hospitalized from COVID? Super epic party though, Tom was probably pissed he couldn't wear his MAGA hat.

Highly doubt Kenpom has any insider info on this. Probably just a mistake.

Back then most fans said the…

Back then most fans said the offense was primitive and pointed to the usage of fullbacks as evidence. Everyone wanted to incorporate spread concepts. And the coaching staff definitely did some puzzling wildcat stuff with Jabrill that didn't look "logical" or seem to fit into the offensive "identity". Those offenses in '15 and '16 scored 13 and 17 (before OT) points against OSU.

damn they are making the boys play on Christmas, then NYE, both away games.

Okay.

Okay. That's nice I guess. Too bad he was a complete failure overall. Regardless, that wasn't even the point of my post.

Meh, we tried Rich Rod and…

Meh, we tried Rich Rod and that didn't work either. And it's not like Harbaugh got the job because he was a Michigan man. He was an elite coach at any level. Yet again things didn't work out. I'm leaning towards the program being cursed at this point. I'm surprised so many fans are still so emotionally invested, especially with all the other 2020 shit going on.

Dunno if it's been discussed…

Dunno if it's been discussed here before or not, but I highly recommend making pastrami. You have to cure it for a week, but it's 100% worth it. I've made dozens and dozens of different recipes on the smoker the past few years, and pastrami is by far the best.

So the Dodd-Frank Act,…

So the Dodd-Frank Act, signed in 2010, is the reason for this disparity? Hmmm...

CEOs rake in 940%…

Agree.

CEOs rake in 940% more than 40 years ago, while average workers earn 12% more

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/ceo-pay-in-940-more-than-40-years-ago-workers-make-12-more/

I don't think CEOs just drink champagne and golf all the time, but they have the same 24 hours in a day. Most probably work 2-3x as much as the average American. Obviously their work is more important than the average employee's, but I don't see the justification for astronomically higher salaries.

I just don't understand how a bunch of dudes on a football forum seem to gleefully defend CEO salaries. Is this part of the American dream? Do people believe their time is coming? One day they will be the CEO making millions?

I wasn't even saying you're…

I wasn't even saying you're wrong about this. I'm not sure what will happen.

"I have saying this is going…

"I have saying this is going to be bad, real bad, for about a month here and it's now happening."

You have some strange obsession with constantly making predictions and patting yourself on the back when you're right. Of course you quickly forget when you're wrong... I remember you made about 100 posts about how Shea would definitely not get immediate eligibility, with your only reasoning being that the NCAA hates Michigan.

For weeks experts have been…

For weeks experts have been saying 50%+ of Americans could be infected. I think the CDC estimated 160-200 million or thereabouts. California is probably in a worse situation than a lot of places due to population density in LA and SF.

Yeah, right now I'm having…

Yeah, right now I'm having trouble finding the specifics on this. I read an article that said grocery stores will still be open, so I imagine people can still go out for food. Doesn't seem like a true lockdown, China style.

Is LSAClassOf2000 the only mod that ever visits the board with any regularity? Definitely need to add a couple people to that team, seeing as Brian, Ace, and Seth never seem to be around these parts.

That video is from two weeks…

That video is from two weeks ago. So much has changed since then. And Dr. Drew is a TV personality who focuses mainly on addiction. Does he have any background in epidemiology?

This doesnt look like it…

This doesnt look like it will have anywhere near that type of toll

Except it absolutely does?

"Congress' in-house doctor told Capitol Hill staffers at a close-door meeting this week that he expects 70-150 million people in the U.S. — roughly a third of the country — to contract the coronavirus"

Pick a conservative mortality rate and do the math.

More specifically for those…

More specifically for those who aren't familiar with Reddit (if that's possible in 2020): https://www.reddit.com/r/ncaaBBallStreams/

A thread for the game will pop up shortly before it starts, and streamers will comment their streams.

Why do you think you know…

The flu kills tens of thousands every year, and this virus seems to be slightly or significantly more deadly. Why is it unfathomable to you that tens of thousands could die from it?

"Be smart and shut the fuck up being stupid."

Great advice, thanks.

"What, exactly, do you gain…

"What, exactly, do you gain by being such a panicky fearmonger?"

I'm just listening to the experts and not exaggerating their predictions at all. What else can I do? What reason do I have to be more optimistic? Please take an hour of your time to listen to either of the conversations with experts I posted above. Or both. They paint a pretty similar picture.

This is just beginning to spread, and we obviously aren't taking it as seriously as the Chinese government. I would be happy to revisit this conversation in a few weeks and see how things are going. I hope you're right about it clearing up so soon, but it seems near impossible.

This is looking like a 3 to…

This is looking like a 3 to 6 months+ situation with tens to hundreds of thousands dying in the United States. It's just getting started.

And I'm really not trying to stir up hysteria. Like a lot of folks here, I thought this was overblown, but listening to Nicholas Christakis on Sam Harris' podcast and Michael Osterholm's conversation with Joe Rogan changed my mind pretty quickly.

There's no chance of this thing slowing down in the US over the next few weeks.

Really? The road doesn't…

Really? The road doesn't look icy at all, just wet.

It's possible your hands…

It's possible your hands just aren't as large as you think.

Or your problems come mainly from hand/finger thickness, not length.

Or the NFL has a method of measuring that is a little bit generous.

If you look at the measurements here you can see there are multiple guys shorter than you with 10"+ hands. (Also note the disrespect with the spelling of Lewerke's name)

At just shy of 6'1", Shea has 9-3/8" hands, and they never looked particularly large:

They just don't make 'em…

They just don't make 'em like that anymore, am I right fellow boomers?
