What is your most painful draft of a player you love to a team you LOATHE?
April 27th, 2017 at 11:29 PM ^
Sheesh. Give me a break.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:26 AM ^
... different question...but your snark is well done for a [fill in the blank].....
Serious question: how does that even happen?
April 28th, 2017 at 11:20 AM ^
Here is how it happened for me...
I grew up in Pittsburgh and I went to Michigan for college.
That's how I am a Steelers fan and a Wolverines fan.
April 29th, 2017 at 12:17 AM ^
...no arguing that Pitt has morphed the last 3 years, but in the day, Bo and Chuck Noll football were a thing of beauty....you know what's coming next...and it's right down your defense's throat...Jim is bringing it back... GO BLUE, MY FRIEND!!!

Check out any of the twelve Peppers to Browns threads below for your answer.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:31 PM ^
that Cleveland drafted Jabrill Peppers? That was the worst.
Here we go, Steelers, here we go ;)
April 27th, 2017 at 11:31 PM ^
Peppers to the Browns takes the cake.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:31 PM ^
I'm a fan of the team who's fight song begins Hail!
April 28th, 2017 at 12:23 AM ^
tacos to the cowgirl?
sorry - you asked, and google image search answered.
April 28th, 2017 at 10:10 AM ^
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for this.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:31 PM ^
Not exactly answering the question but as a Bruins fan I was always a half closeted PK Subban fan. Now the Preds are my 2nd favorite team.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:53 PM ^
...pain is the same...
April 28th, 2017 at 12:52 AM ^
It's not possible to have a second favorite team. I don't care who plays on it
I agree that FAVORITE is not the perfect word but I absolutely have a rooting interest after my true favorite team, especially for sports I love.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:33 PM ^
Watching one of my favorite players ever, David Harris, spend his career on the Jets has been very hard.
Peppers to the Browns made me sad tonight. I love Pep, and I don't "loathe" the Browns per se, they're just such a bleh franchise and awful city. Really the last city I wanted to see him in. Happy that the Cowboys took Taco, that's a team I can root for with one of my favorite dudes I've ever watched at Michigan.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:49 PM ^
JP to Cleveland is so bad because they don't care about winning AND half the fans will always hate him. He'd have to win MVPs to win over those OSU chuds that hate him to hate him. They always will.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:35 PM ^
Just hoping the Browns trade Jabrill to the Patriots. I'd hate for his career to be ruined by that terrible franchise.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:19 AM ^
I've got a little conspiracy theory here: Jabrill has tweeted NOTHING about the Browns since being drafted by them. A little odd since it is A) his life long dream fulfilled, and B) he tweeted at Taco when he was drafted by Dallas a few picks later.
Earlier today there were rumors that the Browns wanted to trade for Kirk Cousins. We also know that Redskins seriously wanted Jabrill. They had multiple visits with him and were exploring trading back into the first round for him.
I think that Jabrill has been told either by his agent or by the Browns leadership themselves that he will be shopped around tonight and tomorrow throughout the day, with the main target being Washington in a deal for Cousins.
Either that or he is super salty about having to be in Cleveland, which is a much easier and more obvious explanation.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:28 AM ^
Yeah, I can't imagine he's happy having to play in front of the mouthbreathing fanbase that did nothing but harass him since he committed to Michigan, but I like your theory.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:45 AM ^
He has since retweeted about it. For whatever that is worth, about which I honestly have no idea.
playing for Dan Snyder is any better than playing for the Browns.
I see Pep as a free range enforcer like Polamalu or Sanders, but fast. He'd look great in Steeler black and gold.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:37 PM ^
Ugh just now, Taco to the Cowboys. Cowboys are my all time least favorite pro sports franchise.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:37 PM ^
How can you LOATHE the Browns? That's like loathing Rutgers.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:40 PM ^
It's pretty difficult to get past their ugly-ass uniforms. They might be the worst uniforms in all of pro sports.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:23 AM ^
They took bad jerseys and gave them a makeover to make them some of the worst in sports history.
They're not good, but they're not even the worst in the NFL, not with Tampa Bay, Denver, and Seattle running around.
Second worst.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:44 PM ^
...can't deny that Ravens or 'Boys would have been worse...Browns is on
principle, and I can only hope that he plays well while Steelers kick their ass (more)...
April 27th, 2017 at 11:39 PM ^
I don't hate the Browns, just feel bad for Peppers that he's going to have to deal with a shitty organization.
Taco to Cowboys actually pisses me off more. Fuck Jerry Jones.
Jake Ryan to the fudge packers comes to mind too.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:19 AM ^
Homophobia is fun!
Lighten up Francis.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:40 PM ^
Harbaugh to the Bears.
Robinson to Jacksonville.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:40 PM ^
For me, it is when any Wolverine leaves school early for the Pros. I'm happy for them as a person, and college should prepare you for your job. But, I get no money or satisfaction to see a pro team win or loss. But Michigan. I get massive statisfaction to see Michigan win in all sports. Thus I'd like all of our stars to stay for the full term. Imagine the Fab 5 for all 4 years... Woodson..... Romo stayed, and how fun was she to watch... Mike Comrie..... Oh well. Hope all Woleverines do well in their careers after college, just wish they'd all wear the maize and blue as long as they could.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:45 PM ^
isn't it impossible to loathe an nfl team? they're all 'meh' to me. rooting interest is based entirely around the players on the team, hence I root for teams with Michigan players and other high character players.
That has always been my feeling towards pro sports. I look too see which teams have former Michigan players and root for those teams. Maybe it has sometging to do with living on Michigan in the 80s and Cincinnati in the 90s.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:45 PM ^
I don't really loathe any NFL teams. I'm a Lions fan because I grew up watching them, but I have a sense of humor more than a sense of caring, and none of the Lions rivals really hate the Lions enough to be hateful. I guess the Browns count because so many Buckeye fans, but it's hard to hate on the Browns for the same reason it's hard for them to hate the Lions.
The pick I really wish hadn't been made was Chris Perry to Cincinnatti in 2004. The Bengals already had Rudi Johnson, and were a year removed from the 1st overall pick, i.e. a total mess inside the locker room and on the field. Moreover they ran a quick WCO that didn't at all fit Perry's running style. I don't know what they were thinking but I was instantly like "well congrats on going in the 1st round but that's gonna suck."
Lions took Kevin Jones a few picks later, and Denver got Tatum Bell early in the 2nd round.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:50 PM ^
Perry to Cinci hurt a bit. Edwards to Cleveland was also not ideal.
But I'm kind of weird in that my gripes and grievances have almost nothing to do with the people on the field. I hate the Cowboys for their PR machine, I hate Washington because Snyder's an asshole. . . thing is, the NFL across the board is so dirty it's hard to find a team to like. The players are basically just people in an ethical sense -- like any cross-section of society, they range from saint to sinner -- but the league itself is so lacking in shame that it's hard to work up any GAFs about the game part of the actual game.
I do check the draft, though, if only because I want players I like to succeed.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:47 PM ^
At least I'll be saving my money by not buy a Jabrill or Taco jersey.
April 27th, 2017 at 11:48 PM ^
JP to Cleveland is a sad twist of fate and Ive always hated the Cowboys. I try to get traded if I'm JP and I'm not even kidding. Half the fans already hate him and he'll get blamed for anything that goes wrong for them. Manziel will have been treated better when it's all said and done, success or none.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:02 AM ^
Brady to the Patriots, retroactively. At the time I was fine with it but after all of their success over the last 15 years, Boston fans are so fucking insufferable I wish they never got to be happy.
If Tom Brady had been drafted by any other coach/organization, he doesn't become...Tom Brady. Having the GOAT as an alum has worked out pretty well for Michigan.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:04 AM ^
killed me that day and still till this day I'm not over it. Being a lifelong Bronco fan this one hurt really bad. Just like when Wheatley signed with the Raiders as well.
Watching #24 Woodson on the Raiders made me sick for many years. Still my favorite Wolverine ever though.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:05 AM ^
Living in Cleveland I am jacked that we got Peppers.
I do find it sad how OSU fans are such kids. I would have been happy with Hooker at 12. OSU fans have real mental issues.
April 28th, 2017 at 12:11 AM ^
...that was total BS....even as a Pitt fan...
April 28th, 2017 at 12:06 AM ^
I never want Oakland to be in play. If they would have landed JH I would have come unglued!
April 28th, 2017 at 12:30 AM ^
If you go to the best remaining players on ESPN and click on Malik McDowell they have a write-up of Marlon Humphrey. Thought that was pretty entertaining. Can't figure out how to post the screenshot on here.
