the just released schedules were a flat-out statement that the B10 doesn't believe SOS will matter in playoff selection

If Ringer is indeed gone, I wish him the very best. |

I think this is a key time to withhold judgement until we hear something more definitive. Maybe he's just giving his brother a shout out. Maybe he lost a bet. Maybe he's messing with obsessive blog-reading fans. Maybe he just wanted a new look (Michigan is also included in the background). Or maybe he's on the move. A few tweets from other Michigan players that don't hint at big news. Let's just take a deep breath. |
| 2 weeks 2 days ago | number changes |
Players routinely change numbers in training camp as numbers open up with cuts. Donta Hightower (a first rounder) wore 45 in Patriots camp last year and switched to 54 before the first game. I'd be surprised if that rule were in place for a fifth round pick less than a week after the draft. And buying every Denard jersey today would cost nothing. So there's hope!

Call him a WR. That's what he worked out as at the combine. Clearly he's a hybrid player so he'll be used in both roles and there aren't positional roster limits/requirements. Hopefully, the number frees up and Denard is back in his familiar 16. |

It looks like a crappy championship logo from an 8-bit Nintendo game. |

Stanford scares me. Every since they swept in and stole Josh Garnett from Michigan, I've feared them. Clearly they know how to close with recruits. But if this means we're the clear cut top two, that's good news. 50-50 shot with a top five recruit is a nice problem to have. |
| 6 weeks 4 days ago | Stood up on my barstool |
Watched the game at a sports bar in Brooklyn. Plenty of Michigan fans there and most impartial patrons seemed to be pulling for the underdog/comeback (except for the dour group of Spartans in the back). When the free throw missed, there was an audible and building "oooOOOAAAAHHHH" as Burke brought the ball up the court and everyone anticipated the shot at tying the game. When he pulled up from 30 and drained it, absolute bedlam and lots of beer in the air. Remember all the reaction videos of Landon Donovan's World Cup goal that made the rounds? Almost like that (again, the dour Spartan fans buzzkilling). I don't remember the thought process (probably because there wasn't one) but I was standing on my barstool whooping it up, fist pumping the air and grabbing at the "MICHIGAN" text on my shirt. One of those unbridled moments where you remember why you devote so many hours and dollars to following sports and it all seems so worth it. Many more rounds (and shots) followed. |

I have no opinion on this kid other than automatically liking him for opening his highlight reel with Goldberg's WCW entrance music. |
| 15 weeks 3 days ago | 1993... |
1993 me is giddy about this. 2013 me is uneasy with it. I'd love for them to be there, but how about they get a box and invite the '89 team to join them. Sitting courtside would be a circus and definitely remove the focus from the current team. |

It almost happened.

...the same thoughts. I find Deveon Smith's tape far more impressive but I am willing to defer to the experts on this and if they say Green is the top RB in the land, I want him in the class. |
| 18 weeks 2 days ago | Deveon Smith |
Isn't really mentioned much as we all fell in love with Ty Isaac's tape and then Derrick Green's lofty ranking, but I'm excited to see this kid suit up. I didn't realize he was one of the top four-stars. I'm no recruiting guru, but his film is truly impressive and not in the "he's twice as fast as everyone in high school so get to the second level and he gone" sense that doesn't really prove much. Still hoping Green joins the class too, obviously. |
| 19 weeks 2 days ago | Indiana 2010 |
All of the obvious big moments have been covered, but along with those, the 2010 Indiana game sticks out in my mind. Michigan's D couldn't get a stop (gave up 568 yards including 480 passing yards), but Denard just kept answering. He racked up 494 of Michigan's 572 yards and five of the six touchdowns. 11.4 yards per carry on 19 rushes. TD pass and TD rush of over 70 yards (would've had a second TD pass over 70 but Roundtree was tackled at the 2). For me, this game epitomizes what people mean when they call Denard the bright light in a dark time for the program. |

...1.5 miles from Barclays in Park Slope so I'll be there. Der Schwarze Koelner in Fort Greene is a great pre-game spot with boots of German beer and delicious brats etc. Bierkraft (amazing selection of beers) and Pork Slope (pulled pork, bacon, BBQ, mac & cheese) down Fifth Avenue are both worth checking out. Plenty of bars and restaurants on this stretch. Flatbush Farm is good but a little more hipster. The hanger steak sandwich at Cubana Cafe is one of my favorites. If you're coming from out of town, please just don't go to Buffalo Wild Wings or Applebees in the Atlantic Terminal Mall. |

Don't want to bunch righties at the top of the order. Also, if Victor bats second, you have a nicely balanced lineup of R, S, R, L, R, L, R, L, R. |

I was a young kid just learning about the game, but I remember it seeming like every other carry he was breaking tackles and ankles. 1703 yards rushing, 6.0 ypc, 14 TDs including 234 yards and 3 TDs against Alabama in the Hall of Fame Bowl (now the Outback Bowl). |
