This was the assclown that Rich Rod did not offer a scholarship to - obviously did not fit his system and is also obviously a few IQ points below total dolt!  That is when justin bolted to the ohio, citing "family values", which was really you didn't offer my family member a scholarship.  Their traitor of a father mike boren, former linebacker for us, was the instigator in this clusterfuck where he was quoted as saying he will not be forced to choose to see his kids play at different schools - hence the transfer.

FUCK YOU BORENS, ALL OF YOU!!!

Whether it’s objective or not that Trump calls out the media - it’s also objective that Trump has absolutely nothing to do with this story, and referencing his similar “tactics” in any context is asinine. Being truly “objective” would’ve just been sticking to the story and reporting the facts therein.

While it wasn't completely necessary to draw that parallel, I don't think it's really correct to say that Trump has "nothing" to do with calling the media the problem when they point out negative things that happen.

Also I wouldn't exactly say that this piece by Wetzel really falls under the category of "news," it very much reads like an opinion piece.

Anyway, curling up into a ball and calling 'bias' simply because he mentions a political figure's behavioral patterns seems pretty childish.

Absolutely, did not mean to infer that. My point is that, to me, he was coming off as saying that the writer was just reporting objective facts, as is done in a non-editorial. Then he waffled, saying, well, it's really more of an opinion piece anyway. Saying there isn't a political bias behind injecting Trump into the article in this way, in my opinion, is naive.

But at the end of the day who gives a shit, really. it annoys the hell out of me when I'm reading a sports article and the writer magicians Trump's name into it somehow. Like I don't already have to hear the guy's name enough in my every work-a-day life.

How can there not be subjectivity there?

Simple - it's an objective fact that Donald Trump blames the media for reporting negative stories about him, whether they are true or not.  Do you disagree with this?  Or do you disagree that Boren is effectively doing the same thing?

Also you trust the media too much.

Interesting assertion, since I never made any indications one way or the other about trusting media sources.  I just said that an easily verifiable statement was an objective fact.

Logged in to upvote this. Anybody who equivocates what Trump is doing with media blaming with any other President or even prominent politician of our era, is a phony and intellectually dishonest.

The worse thing we could all do is defend it or look the other way.

Wetzel's comparison is spot on here.

Important even in a sports discussion we honor the truth and he draws a larger reason why it's vital.

But that’s not something solely attributable to Trump. I’ve heard politicians on both sides make similar remarks. Heck, I’ve even heard Obama scapegoat media at times.

The desire to cover for a team based on fandom has been very prevelant over the past infinity years or so. It is so sad to see people who are willing to be a part of this troubling trend. It won't hurt you to see bad things and call them out.
