WD you are a legend to me

Forever and ever. A 18 year college freshman started the events that led to the final straw in an ousting of the Michigan Athletic Director

I don't mean to bash on WD, but I find the whole situation ironic.

WD posted a forwarded email with little assurance to its validity and in a rather cavalier manner. This was after his about-face teenage hatred of DB had been spewed everywhere.

Another poster relayed similar emails in a diary, but in a mature and moderate manner.

It was the brash, immature post about Brandon's immature emails that got picked up by Olbermann and not the mature post.

Why?  Because WD had become a divisive figure and his thread got much more attention than the other.

It's all just hilarious.

At the very least it's likely that WD started the chain that got Dave Brandon to "resign" sooner which will get us a new AD sooner and make it much more likely we'll have a smooth coaching search. Hopefully we can get the new AD now, and we'll be all ready to pursue the next head well in advance of the time we actually need to do so

Okay, I say this as someone who likes WD and defends him and his passion for Michigan sports...

Before this gets too crazy, there was no chance that DB was going to be Michigan's athletic director in 2015.  Maybe this accelerated the process a little bit, but if you think that if not for that email then our new president would have kept an insanely unpopular, bad AD whom he didn't hire - and pissed off huge parts of the Michigan community in doing so - you're nuts.

I did not know that WD was 18.  However, especially if he is 18 his actions on this blog are understandable to try and gain friends.  Now if you meant this as a tongue in cheek kind of ribbing, well then forgive me.  There are a quite a few influencial Michigan folks on the blog!  There is nothing wrong with 'brownnosing' (so to speak) for freinds, especially those that might be influencial in theirl life!  I am not trying to start a war of words.  My hope is that without seeing me type this, speack it to you that you do not take offense.  I am trying to state that this is a highschool, you are a brownnoser type of comment.  I would think we are better than that.

Have an excellent Friday, Happy happy happy Halloween!

My post was half tongue in cheek.  I like WD.  He's a good kid.  I think of him as my little eBrother.  He just needs to tone it down a notch or two.

I know it was hyperbole, but he tweeted that getting name dropped on WTKA has completed his life.  Having the highest points on MGoBlog will probably be on his resume.

Normally I would angrily point out how ridiculous it is to give a teenage blogger credit for what was obviously coming anyways, but I don't even care today!  All hail WD!

WD = Matilda except a boy

Dave Brandon = Ms. Trunchbolt except a man

In all seriousness you never want to see anybody lose their job but this wasn't a good fit and hey may act tough but I'm sure all the criticism and protesting really got to him. I'm glad that he is resigning and I know he will be fine.

It's a win-win.

Now please, let's get Jim Harbaugh in a couple of months because this is only half the battle.

I've never disliked you but was a bit unhappy with the way the initial post broke (no proof). Today, I give you a firm handshake and look in the eye. You genuinely played a part.

As some have pointed out, it is entirely possible that the e-mail revelation merely accelerated a process that was already moving forward in some way, but I am just thinking about the out-of-the-blue thread that first appeared a few weeks ago and the great consternation it actually initially caused everyone mod or no. If it did indeed help bring this event forward in anyway ultimately, I am glad - very glad - it was put back even after the initial internal debate.
