Two Kids In Serious Danger of Leaving U-M, according to GBMW

Submitted by jg2112 on
GBMW is "reporting" that there are two football players who are in serious danger of not returning to the team, as early as summer workouts, and neither is named Kevin Grady. One would be a serious blow to depth. Also, GBMW alleges two players are going to play through 2009 but may not come back, and these players are already known to the staff. I would hate to engage in speculation. However, I'm posting on a message board and it's late May. Does anyone have any insight as to who these players could be? My initial thought is that the most serious blow to depth would be on the D-Line, but I haven't a clue as to who it would be........

the most interesting part of that article: "One thing is clear Coach Rod is not the most patient guy in the world. And his impatience may lead down the road to some disagreement with the AD. Coach Rod wants to look at the way Michigan schedules (including night games), but mainly looking at there out of conference schedule. He likes what teams like Alabama is doing where they are playing a top team yearly at a neutral site."

...piped-in music (remember the spring game?) and maize jerseys. I'd say a night game is coming in 2011. Against Notre Dame.

GBMW stand for? Go Blue Michigan Wins? Get Bigger Mighty Wontons? Google Because Mucas Won't? Guns Break Mighty Wind? Gross Buffalo Migrate Willingly? How about -- Garfield Bakes Macaroni Well?

What coaches? At what high schools? Who do they know at M? Which practices do they attend? For how long? It's a collection of assertions made by anonymous people with no sourcing. They may be right, or they may be as truly informed as THE KNOWLEDGE. Nice how the writer was trying to gin up some conflict between RR and Bill Martin without a speck of evidence to support it.

is a guy who goes by the name Maizeman. He posts on the Scout message board and is pretty much the main UM insider on that board. Not saying he's right all the time and knows everything but he's generally pretty good. Pretty positive he's not a coach but am not sure what his connection to the program is.

I know Wermers was one, don't know if that's the guy they're talking about. I'm assuming the other guy is Grady. From my undertsanding Wermers didn't fit the offensive style and we all know what his happening with Grady.

... if one was Wermers and GBMW (which is Go Blue Michigan Wolverine, a blog on the left Michigan Blogs listing) was just late in posting this, but I doubt it. As far as Grady goes, you'll notice in my OP that I said two kids "that are not named Kevin Grady."

If this is the quote you are referring to: On a related note:, There are a couple other players who will be on the team next year, but depending on how season goes may decide to take their chances elsewhere. This happens every year, but the difference this year is those players are already known. I think you have read too much into it. Is there a year when this doesn't happen?

Genius if you ask me. RichRod is taking a page from Bo. Denounce the effort of "some" players without identifying them individually. Great way to get their attention.

Usually GBMW "breaks" the big news a few weeks after it happens and tries to retroactively claim they knew it all along, but couldn't post it. I tried the same thing with 9-11 and the CIA and ended up being waterboarded for three days.

I just read GBMW for the first time. NEVER AGAIN. The most curious thing about that badly-written bunch of blunders was the stand-alone sentence in today's post: "Shaw is running." I mean, really, how insightful can one be?

GBMW has the worst visual "design" of any website that doesn't include "geocities" in the html. It's like they just piled as much stuff as they can into one page and one sidebar and called it a day. It's a shame that between the layout and the spelling/grammar that site is borderline unreadable; they do have some interesting stuff in there sometimes.

GBMW: "Warren is also not one in question. Warren has received some "bad assumptions" by some posters on the message boards."

What's great about GBMW is that they say they're not affiliated with the University of Michigan and then stick the copyrighted block M right below it. This means that a. They got permission/licensing from the university to use it, which means affiliation or b. They didn't get permission and are violating trademark law.

"Those who stay will be champions" I don't really care and if they are thinking about leaving, then leave. they won't help the team at all if they stay.

On top of being a completely random guess, Woolfolk was moved to FS and has a good chance to start there this fall. The presence of a midget sophomore CB and an incoming freshman CB probably don't affect him very much.

I don't know how it all works, but how many players can we lose before our team APR gets to the danger zone? I know you lose points whenever a player leaves the team, so if we have major defections over the summer and next summer, could we be in trouble?
