Tripp Welborne

"Anyone but Gerg. I'm certainly not in his camp. You guys can make all the excuses you want about having young players, only two years in the system, etc, but he's not a good DC. Heck, learning a new defense is not that difficult. Offense is always more complicated. Not to mention what track record does he bring? He only had success at the Broncos. Even then, we all know the arguements regarding successful NFL coaches having success in college. Our defense has regressed significantly since Shafer... I'm willing to bet quite a large amount he'll be gone by the start of next season. "
You, TrippWelborne replied:
"i will take that bet. i am not going to rationalize the bgsu game or umass game, but from everything i have read from the players they support GERG. i think these guys are going to get better and better as the season goes on, if they keep healthy."
When are you going to pay me?
Yes, I realize this takes up space and wastes everyones time. Neg away. I just want to get paid. Isn't that what America's all about?

It's the end of the season already?
ps... define "quite a large amount" gremlin. I'll bet that to you and your buddies in the seventh grade "quite a large amount" would be about $3.75, right?
November 4th, 2010 at 9:12 PM ^
" if they keep healthy".
Have they?
November 4th, 2010 at 9:14 PM ^
No he has not been fired. hahahhahahaha. Why would he get fired mid season? Is he going to be here next season? No.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:07 PM ^
Dude, are you high? Seriously, it sounds like you are. Go eat a whole bag of Doritos instead of posting ridiculous threads on here.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
Yes, I realize this takes up space and wastes everyones time. Neg away.
As you wish.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:13 PM ^
...collect on your own time.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:18 PM ^
I propose a moratorium on posting for Mr. gremlin.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:21 PM ^
Technically Gremlin, Tripp doesnt owe you anything yet. And this kind of proclamation could anger the gambling gods against you.
A guy by the name of Kenny Rogers is in the college football news today, so I'll quote his namesake: never count your money when you're sittin' at the table.
Quoted from experience, btw. More than I want to admit.

the link that says "Tripp Welborne," thinking they'll be some news about, you know, the real Tripp Welbourne. Jokes on me.
Looking forward to your next "hey random dude, I'm calling you out because you said something a couple months ago that didn't turn out to be right" post.
Epic.

Tripp was there for what I consider to be the golden age of Michigan Football. One of the greatest players we've ever had in the secondary. I just remember him driving around campus in a sweet ass corvette with a license plate that read: UR TRPN
November 4th, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
vada murray. i still can't believe what my lyin' eyes told me when tripp and vada took the field together.
November 5th, 2010 at 8:40 AM ^
Pretty sure it was a 300 Z, but that license plate was cool and having two kick ass safeties was kind of cool too. What I wouldn't give for 2 kick ass safties right now.

I was hoping Tripp Welborne was some super recruit on D who just said he was coming to Ann Arbor. Damn.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:54 PM ^
In 1987.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:38 PM ^
Fuck... I was hoping for Ty Law too.
November 4th, 2010 at 9:55 PM ^
Does it bother anyone else that Tripp Welborne's name is being used in what some people might think of as a pejorative way here? He was, to me, one of the most revered Michigan safeties ever, and were it not for a horrible acl tear at the very end of the season, might have had an excellent pro career as well.
I propose that we not use the names of former players, especially great ones, unless we really are those players.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:03 PM ^
I second,
All those opposed?
Yeah I didn't think so.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
What ever happened to needing a minimum number of points to post a thread? Certainly it should be a positive number.
November 5th, 2010 at 12:35 AM ^
It probably was positive before this post, but I am sure he got negged into purgatory.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:16 PM ^
Yes, I realize this takes up space and wastes everyones time. Neg away.
I am happy to comply with your request.
By the way, as a Houghton High School alum and, therefore, former Gremlin, I sincerely hope that your user name isn't because you went (or go) to Houghton High. If so, you are not doing your school proud.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:21 PM ^
So your the jackass that would rather be right than have his team win. Your sir are a horrible fan.
November 4th, 2010 at 10:26 PM ^
i was looking for some legitimate beef here and maybe a meltdown or two since I haven't seen a good one in a while. And you post this crap.
I am thoroughly disappointed.
November 4th, 2010 at 11:20 PM ^
but that was only because I was braced to read that something terrible had happened to a player I absolutely adored as a kid.
That said - please change the title to something like: the person who posts under the handle Tripp Welborne.
Thx!

isn't a gremlin a cutesy name for troll?
at the very least, there's a strong family relation.
November 4th, 2010 at 11:36 PM ^
Congratufuckinglations
November 5th, 2010 at 12:39 AM ^
That's even better than Absofuckinglutely. By the way, can't these bets be settled in private?
November 4th, 2010 at 11:37 PM ^
How much does he owe you?
November 5th, 2010 at 12:49 AM ^
Wait so he owes you some unspecified amount of money for something that hasn't yet come to pass? Sounds like you have a solid case.

November 5th, 2010 at 5:07 AM ^
This is one of the most inane posts I have ever read on MGoBlog.
November 5th, 2010 at 8:45 AM ^
Gremlin,
Get back in line. You need your med's. Does your caregiver know you have access to the internet and the outside world?
November 5th, 2010 at 10:14 AM ^
Stop with the self-serving nonsense. If everyone who thought they were vindicated about something they said in September started a thread on it we would be swimming in garbage.

Tripp was a star player when I first starting really loving Michigan football as a kid. I would say that he and Tony Boles were two of my biggest childhood heroes. Its ironic that both of their careers were derailed by the turf at Minnesota. Reading about Boles as an adult (and rumeal robonson as well) was an extremely depressing thing for me.
