Tommy Henry Beat UCLA With Pneumonia
Diehard Michigan man - very Winovichesque. Congrats Tommy on your admirable courage and clutch performance.
Yes, or Devin Gardner playing the fourth quarter with a broken foot. Gutsy performance, though the KD situation gives me pause.
The Daily has a nice write up that reads a bit different after knowing the kid has pneumonia. What a crazy performance.

That explains why he was so out of breath after that play where he had to cover first. He looked crazy gassed after that. Makes sense if he was having trouble breathing.
Imagine what he could have done with two working lungs!
Twisted Blue Steel!
Pneumonia would have killed a lesser man, but not a Michigan pitcher!
That's some real gangster shit.
Epic performance.
Everything from here on out is gravy. Now, of course let's win it but getting to the World Series is a major accomplishment except if you are from the anywhere outside of the Midwest.
Legendary.
I enjoyed your phone call to Spath's show on Monday. You did a nice job!
That is really crazy. Most people can barely stand. This gentleman has some resolve.
I would be in bed all day if I had a hang nail....
That heavens it's only one pneumonia.
Once your adrenaline gets pumping, your body can do crazy shit. I once played a soccer game as a teen when I was sick and scored two goals and had two assist - one of the best games of my life.
Coach pulled me out with a few minutes left as we had a big lead and as soon as I sat down I nearly passed out. Turned out I had walking pneumonia and a 103 degree temperate - I had no idea.
Were you playing the Thailand women?
Underrated comment!
But can you do this, Blue in Paradise?
Incredible performance! Coach B should add that to his recruiting video. Not even pneumonia can keep our players out of a championship game. BOOM!
Go Blue!
The new Coach B ?
pneumonia AND the marine layer working aginst him.
Somehow, that makes it even more remarkable. I mean, that's some serious resolve. Pneumonia, when I had it years ago, more or less immobilized me for days.
Insane mental toughness to throw a full 100 pitches with that.
MIchael Jordan flu game vs. Tommy Henry pneumonia game: which is more badass?
WD's wardrobe game
Gotta go with Tommy Henry - he had the rockin' pneumonia and the boogie woogie flu.
Breathing in that marine layer may have been the best thing for him?!
I had pneumonia as a young kid. I don't remember much but I do remember being treated with a humidifier - lots of humidity.
Re: pneumonia
This is much more badass than the legendary Red Sox fake bloody sock game!
What does this mean for the CWS games? Can he get it under control in a week?
With the playing days being spread out, the team could probably get by with 2 starting pitchers and save Henry for relief.
This. With three solid starters they could make some serious noise and if the schedule works, I accept your proposal.
Flu game II?
He is LEGEND.
WOW...just WOW..He probably just cemented himself as one of the all time great Michigan Man performances!!!! I still cant believe MICHIGAN is playing in the College World Series...Pinch me!
SAVAGE
That dude is a MAN!!! Holy hell, I can imagine playing sports with pneumonia!!!
Well, done, Tommy!! You deserve all the praise - epic and legendary!!!
I just got over bronchitis. Coughed up mucous for close to a month. I can't imagine having an even worse condition and performing at a high level in a pivotal game like he did.
Wow. Sometimes pneumonia after flu can be pretty dangerous. Hope he gets well soon.
And not done yet
