Throwback Uniforms Today

Looks like Michigan will wear the same uniforms they wore against MSU again today. Personally not a fan of these being called throwbacks since they aren't a uniform Michigan ever wore (never wore maize in this style and the numbers on the front of the jerseys were offset in the 80s version). I'd prefer a direct throwback to the blues they wore in the 89 title game if they want to honor that era.

I actually liked these modern updates to the late 80's kit - I'd swap some of the colors here and there (having a *white* block-M on the side panels just seems off), but those uniforms have personality and are, to me, distinctly "Michigan"

I agree with you, though, that having these in blue would be sweet - maybe even do a version of blue with no white trim at all, similar to the football home unis

Who could forget this tournament masterpiece from Adidas from back in the day. Looked like something you would see on a clearance rack at Meijer.

The only good thing about those uniforms are that we beat StAEE in them.   The white numbers on maize jerseys are really hard to see.

I'd prefer blue numbers as well - although they read well enough for me, white numbers on a yellow jersey with dark blue side panels looks not dissimilar to the Laker home jerseys from 2000-2019.  Which is cool with me personally, but isn't really right for Michigan's traditional maize uniform look.

I've always called this version of the bball kit "the Missouri jersey". Mizzou wore a virtually identical uni back in the day, and I recall that they wore it first. Whether or not we borrowed the design, it's always been one of my favorites, though I'm still partial to the Cazzie era unis with the fake belt.
