That statment from medical personnel is still outstanding

i think we need a statement regarding that statement.  i'm sure Brandon's athletic department is up to the task.

/medical evaluation and the beginning of the press conference?

That's not exactly a ton of time to get this kind of legal paperwork done, not to mention the interceding day was a Sunday during which I assume most of the relevant parties were not working.

You sure it's still "his" athletic department?

He tweets a least once a day about athletics. He has not tweeted since Saturday. Not only that, but there has been no sign of him in days.

Always came across as a guy who got to where he is not based on merit and truly top notch job performance, but someone who is simply a master of positioning and politicking.  To me, his in-action during all of this tells me this is true.

Take credit when things go well to move ahead, blame others and duck when things are going south... never maintain any level of accountability for anything that might be bad for your image.  Hard to imagine anybody thinking they can be successful in a job like that without being accountable... even just some shreds of honesty acknowledging some of the mistakes and steps to be taken to not make those mistakes again would go a long way.  He's clearly too stubborn to realize.  Even if it's simply a perception that he messed something up, he should be in tune to that.

Only difference is this time, this may finally be too big for him to duck... shareholders care about their company's performance, but a company struggling because they put out bad pizza is nothing like the lightning rod for negative PR that the UM football program is right now.

Consider this: what if the athletic department told the medical staff to put out a release saying Morris is fine and didn't show any signs of concussion. But the medical staff, being actual doctors with morals and standards balked at that idea, and here we are waiting for a press release that's probably never coming. Plausible, right?

I could see how it would be delaying things, as I assume the medical staff would then have no choice but to go above the AD to the president or whoever the next higher authority is until they reach some satisfactory resolution.  I would also commend the medical staff for having the fortitude to stand up against the idiots running the athletic dept.

Yeah I really can't think of another reason there would be a delay. As far as HIPAA concerns go they don't have to release medical records. All they have to say is he was or was not given a concussion test. That type of info is released all the time in sports. Really no different that saying Shane has an injured ankle.

Very little doubt this may be the issue.  Familiar with the medical staff professionally. Their integrity and judgement second to none.  Would be shocked if they came out with anything highly supportive of Saturday's events.  Most likely will be quite vague and ambiguous, shedding no light on the matter.

The medical staff will never be allowed to say Shane has a concussion. That's why the high ankle sprain is convenient. However long Shane is held out, the ankle will be reason for it, and any potential cover-up will be hidden

It could be that the Pony Express man who was supposed to deliver it is currently cooking the elk he killed over a fire and the statement will be along as soon as he finishes dinner, or this is going to be the best statement regarding the medical state of any player ever conceived and they simply require time to finalize a few details.

It's clusterfucks all the way down. Really disheartening that nothing has been released yet. HIPAA and all that but then why mention it at the press conference? Completely lacking all around.

No report?  Bad media coverage for 48 hours?  No support from DB on Hoke?  I think this thing is going to end pretty quickly.  Like in the next 48 hours. . . .
