Sparty is 1-3. Who else thinks that is funny?

We are 4-0 but our D is terrible. MSU could torch us next week if we don't turn it around. Or if Forcier is out. His shoulder doesn't look good.

It is hilarious, though I'm not cocky at all about next week. My MSU buddy texted me and said "I'm done with this team"....SpartyNO!!!!! I couldn't laugh too much though. As I was typing in my witty Boom! response, we gave up the 80 some yard TD run after SuperTate jumped into the endzone. /ramble

I just don't know about MSU. I tried to catch some of the MSU/Wisc game. Neither team looked especially good. Sparty, on D, looks vulnerable to the outside running game. MSU's WRs are pretty good though. It'll be interesting to see if BooBoo plays or if he's been replaced by JT Floyd. Sparty's RBs look like freshmen but are serviceable (def. NOT Ringer).

They are probably the best 1-3 team in the country...let's give them credit. They could easily be 3-1 with CMU and ND games. They have my full admiration and I give them all the credit in the world in their ability to choke repeatedly. Little brother is doing a little too much bowing down these days...LOL Its almost as if today was an encore and subsequent bow once again. Encore! Encore! Encore! Go Blue!

Wait, I'm confused. Why are you saying Michigan State is "bowing down LOL" to Michigan? I was under the impression that the MSU - UM game was October 3rd. Of course, you have good reason to be so confident; squeaking past Indiana at home thanks to another official's homer call is really quite impressive compared to losing by one score to Wisconsin on the road.

Better to "squeak past" Indiana than lose to everyone but the 1-AA team. And they are Big 10 officials, not Michigan officials. "...losing by one score to Wisconsin..." ... really? The final score says they lost by 8 but they scored a meaningless touchdown to get it down to that. The game was over, and they barely got it to a 2 possession game.

I think I've been misquoted by confused. First of all my name is not Wait. Second your name appears to be DoctorWorm, not confused as you claim in your text. Your impression regarding October 3rd is correct, although proper form would be to list the visiting team first: UM-MSU. I never said that Michigan State was "'bowing down LOL' to Michigan", but if you're offering, I accept. And yes I am quite confident in a team that has the moxy to march down the field twice in three weeks for last few minute victories. In addition, I am glad you clearly know more about officiating than the paid officials, that is quite a relief. Lastly, a touchdown and a two point conversion, if you want to consider a late 21 point deficit as close, is in fact two scores, a touchdown, and an extra point conversion. Resubmit with corrections and your final grade can be raised one letter grade.

I'm impressed by your three losses little sister! Coach Dantonio is 17-13 - Which is one game better than bobby Williams at the same point, and equal to John L. Smith. No wonder he got the contract extension! Sparty is back....back to her losing...errrr moral victories. Save your money up for this nice item for next week http://lansing.craigslist.org/fuo/1393758351.html

I have $100 on next week's game with my Sparty buddy, as well as $100 on UM winning 8 games...and $100 that Sparty does not win 8 games. These bets were all made after spring ball, and I'm looking pretty good right now!

I don't get why everyone in the media was on the Dantonio badnwagon after an average season last year (when they got killed by anybody with a pulse). Sparty is still Sparty, and will always be Sparty. The Blue have to be on their game next week, but a win would definitely put an end to any in-state superiority/momentum talk. And all will be right with the world.

It will give RR and GERG plenty to teach this week while prepping for next Saturday. If Forcier is hurt, DRob will get plenty of snaps in practice and look a lot better than he did this week. His first half drive was important for his confidence and to show opposing DC's that he is capable of throwing the ball, too. I hope Tate is OK, but I still think they can beat MSU with Robinson if they have to. For comparison, check out ex-UM QB recruit BJ Daniels' first start today, on the road at FSU. The game plan was solid and USF pulled off the upset. I know I'm "comparing apples and oranges," but it does show that a first-time QB can win a tough game on the road, even if it doesn't look like he is "ready" yet.

The Blue played about as bad as they possibly could today against a not-too-terrible opponent and still got the win. This is a young team that will continue to get better and better. Outgained by almost a hundred yards, gave up two ridiculous long plays (not to mention other defensive mishaps), Tate threw an awful pick, and we lost about 50 yards just because we weren't able to snap the ball. Lots of room for improvement but we still won the game. I forgot how much I've missed complaining after wins.

... what is amazing to me is that some pundits saw Sparty as the third best team in the Big Ten, and maybe competing for the title if tOSU or PSU falters. Dantonio is a smug prick who won last year with the final recruits of John L. As Dennis Green once said: "They are who we thought they were." That all said, they could easily beat UM next week... Tate is hurt, let's hope not a total shoulder separation. The last touchdown throw gives me some hope...

team you'll ever see. Cousins will light up this defense and MSU will be able to find some yards on the ground.......and our offense will struggle quite a bit more against Sparty's Defense than anyone so far. I expect to have to score at least 35 to win again. MSU won't turn the ball over 3 times next week either. A win over Michigan makes their whole season.

I agree that a win over Michigan would make MSU's little season, but I am not that convinced that Cousins (or Nichol) are something to be feared. I don't think they are as talented as Clausen and definitely don't have the receivers that Clausen had. Their receivers might make some occasional catches but are not by any means steady. It will probably be a close game, and we really might be in some trouble if Forcier is out, but.. a) Their defense sucks balls b) Their offense is REALLY not a huge threat (at least, consistently) c) Who have they beat? This could be a typical MSU team. ALMOST win 1,000 games but only ACTUALLY win a few. Especially after getting easily-handled today, their morale could be way down.

...some of Dantonio's past proclamations and recent media treatment of Sparty their 1-3 mark is very funny. However, UM-MSU is a rivalry game and Michigan is Sparty's biggest rival. Obviously the record books should be thrown out and the teams should act as though they are 0-0 going into this contest. Next Saturday should be as much of a nailbiter as this Saturday was. I think we are going to see Denard get put to the test, and we are going to find out if he has a will to win like Forcier does.
