Semi-OT: Weber's Recruiter Leaving OSU for the Chicago Bears
It looks like Stan Drayton (OSU's RB Coach and a listed recruiter for Weber) is going to the NFL.
I'm sure Weber was informed of this before he made his decision.
/sarcasm
On a serious note, I'm truly despising the conduct of these colleges. These kids commit to four years one day, and the person who they thought would be teaching them leaves the next.

certainly would be ironic if he was one of the osu coaches whispering sweet nothings into his ear at 10 AM on signing day...

GREAT (!!) Answer!

Right on.

owned his decision, and said "I chose Ohio State over Michigan".
To assert that Harbaugh should not have signed Karan when Weber was 50/50 shows an appalling sense of entitlement.
He made the choice and pointed the finger at Harbaugh. Now he's pointing the finger at Ohio State but it's too late.

I have a bad feeling there'll be more tweets like this to come. Poor kid. If anything, this will reveal OSU's true colors to the HS coaches in Detroit, especially Cass Tech.

too bad he has to learn it this young. All about wins. They wanted him and they did what it took to get him.

They'll still go there.

Weber may be "hurt as hell," but he will be a lot more "hurt" if his bagman leaves OSU for the NFL.

This kid gets a free four year college education. A chance to make a name for himself by playing football for a major college program, and has a chance to make it to the NFL, and make millions to be set for life. Poor fucking baby ! We should all be so deceived.

This guy gets a month? For telling a kid he deserve what he gets. I told a grown man to off himself as a joke for being completly wrong about a something and I still can't get back into my account. Bologna.

certainly all CAPS is not justified. Mods do what mods do for the common good. Whatever punishment is meted it's not THAT bad. A month without being able to create threads is nothing and proportionate.

It was clearly intentional.
He knew he was leaving. But still "played coach" until the ink was dry.
February 5th, 2015 at 8:50 PM ^
So what, as soon as a coach starts looking at other jobs, they should stop recruiting?
February 5th, 2015 at 9:33 PM ^
No, they should be honest but I would not expect you to understand the difference between the two.

Urban announces on Signing Day that 3 OSU players are done because of "injuries." So far, I haven't found out whether they agree that they are done. https://www.elevenwarriors.com/ohio-state-football/2015/02/49736/reeves…
This is a shady program, not that they are alone. I feel sorry for the kid, mostly because he's just a teenager. An adult ought to know what he is getting into but not a kid.
February 5th, 2015 at 7:39 PM ^
The problem is that he left the day after Signing Day and persuaded Weber to commit to OSU.
Basically he lied. He was never going to coach Weber until it was in the NFL.
That's the issue..not the fact that he left. But it's not like he just woke up today and had a job offer that he didn't have yesterday.
That's the issue.

Gotta feel bad for him. He made a tough decision, apparently on the basis of the "trust" factor, and then one day later it becomes clear that the "more trustworthy" option that he chose is anything but that.
