Yes they have some nice history and I realize kids in that age group remember the recent undefeated season and Cam Newton era but to get that sort of recruiting as an "also ran" in the state year after year, seems a bit fishy. Also the Cam story shows us what goes on behind the scenes down in the south...

They have a history of cheating.
Cam Newton sweepstakes ring a bell?
There was some talk on the radio during that time where they ran down a list of things.
Dirty as all hell.

Just curious...

UM will usually do something like 5th to 15th based on size of class. Two of RR's classes were around 20th, but in general over 20 years you will see the 7 to 15th slot for UM. To put it in perspective UM has better average ranking than Oregon the past 7 years.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:46 PM ^
...why we're so average and far too few guys seem to be developing into elite playmaking talent.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:50 PM ^
Because our 2009 2010 and 2011 recruiting classes are basically non-existant due to attrition, coaching change etc. and the 2010 and 2011 classes were around 20th overall before they lost a bunch of players from them.

Tre Mason, class of 2011. Florida kid. 14th RB, 199th overall. Offered by UM

Mizzou had to punt, this game is over. Auburn is also going to run more since they're up.
This is going to be 600 yards of rushing.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:41 PM ^
Would have been nice if Alex Kozan had picked us.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:43 PM ^
How would Sparty's defense do against either of these teams?
December 7th, 2013 at 7:47 PM ^
December 7th, 2013 at 7:47 PM ^
OSU is every bit as good as these teams are. Maybe even better with Smith outside at WR.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:48 PM ^
You take OSU's offense and MSU's defense.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:53 PM ^
And I would put MSU's defense ahead of Bama's this season. To me it's FSU, MSU, and a long gap.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:50 PM ^
Mason is way shiftier...Perry was a slasher with amazing feet. Mason looks like a WR at times.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:47 PM ^
I know I'm WAY in the minority on this one but I hope OSU beats MSU and then FSU. And I hope Sparty goes out to the Rose Bowl and beats whoever wins the Pac10.
I'm tired of the B1G being looked on as a crap conference. And the only way that changes is if our elite teams start winning the big games.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:48 PM ^
I see your point, but I'd rather it be us and maybe Wisconsin who do that. Not our two most hated rivals.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:50 PM ^
Without question. But neither team is a threat to do that this year at least. And some happy day when we ARE good again I dont want to get screwed out of the opportunity to play in the big game.

we are a few years away from being relevant
December 7th, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
Maybe any other year but I cannot stand that Meyer is undefeated at OSU.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:56 PM ^
shall pass.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:53 PM ^
I wouldn't mind the B10 winning the Rose Bowl at all.
I don't want to see ohio in the national title game and if they did make it I'd root for them to get their ass humiliated.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:49 PM ^
Franklin has to come up clutch. I guess the OC doesn't care that DGB is about 6 inches taller than every DB Auburn possess.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:56 PM ^
You might want to re-phrase that.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:51 PM ^
How does this get called - "good punt, handled badly, Mizzou ball at about the 3 yard line" ? Something like that. In any case, it doesn't seem like six minutes and some change means anything in this game anyway.
December 7th, 2013 at 7:52 PM ^
Even if it's just 3
December 7th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
4th down call was horrendous
December 7th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
Looks like it's game blouses. Enough for Auburn to jump ohio if they win ugly?
December 7th, 2013 at 7:57 PM ^
December 7th, 2013 at 7:58 PM ^
(fingers crossed)
December 7th, 2013 at 7:59 PM ^
It would appear based on Auburn that it is actually possible to rush for more than -45 yards in a game.
December 7th, 2013 at 8:03 PM ^
Nothing that any self-appreciating team would run.
December 7th, 2013 at 8:05 PM ^
They actually run power football a billion times better than we do
December 7th, 2013 at 8:17 PM ^
and with a freshman on the OL, too. Imagine that.

December 7th, 2013 at 8:03 PM ^
Auburn better score 1 more TD to make it look like this game wasnt very close
December 7th, 2013 at 8:04 PM ^
December 7th, 2013 at 8:05 PM ^
I don't think they should leap ahead of any undefeated team when they give up 42 points.
December 7th, 2013 at 8:06 PM ^
Although Illinois scored 35 on Ohio State.

Not enough to jump Ohio if they win, I'm afraid. Too many will be put off by the lack of D.
December 7th, 2013 at 8:28 PM ^
See, I think the narrative will be that Auburn's offense is terrifying and they put up 59 against and SEC defense. OSU's offense gets knocked down a bit for playing against pretty turrible defenses save for MSU.
December 7th, 2013 at 8:25 PM ^
Stupid weak spread rushing attack. Only works in the SEC.
Oh yeah, I'm testing the new trolling edicts here.
