Growler..full of fresh Ballast Point Sculpin. That, plus the game makes everything tonight beautiful.

Saturday Night Game thread
To 100 points!
Is on its way to 100 points too. Crazy PAC12!
I am in Illinois about to watch the night games - any regional beers I should take a look at? (Live in California)
and by 'take a look at' I mean drink.
Goose Island 312
Three Floyds Robert the Bruce.
Or any other Three Floyds you can find. Hope you're close to the IN border.
I cannot stand listening to NBC announcers. You couldn't get any more bias.
I know this isn't a night game, but since its still going....COME ON PITT!!! They just recovered a ND fumble in the endzone in OT
LOLZ at Notre Dame. This might make up for Sparty's chokejob a little bit.
Just another Pitt choke!
Holy fuck Pitt you guys are fucking unbelievable. Nice missed fg for the win.
Anyone else see the ND defensive lineman punch the Pitt player right in the head on 3rd down before the missed field goal? Three refs were right there and didn't make the call.
Probably had something to do with the fact that it would have given Pitt a first down on the 10 yard line and essentially ended ND's undefeated season.
No one is winning @ND this season. Only Alabama and Oregon could overcome the refs there.
Founders Breakfast Stout. Ducks win by +40.
I hope the Ducks are the real deal this year. I'd love to see them play Bama. They are probably the only team in the country that would have a shot at beating them.
He makes a harder kick when he just missed the easier kick less than 10 minutes ago. Makes sense.
More and more pissed by the week that M lost to those irish clowns. If they don't drop like 5 spots this week it's a travesty.
I hate kiffin,, hes such a cheater
Hate to break it to you, but Kelly is going to get hammered for cheating sometime in the next few months.
It's coming and he will smile as he's an NFL coach by then.
Really Barkley, really?
USC and Oregon are going way over the Vegas number of 72!
If LSU can beat Bama, we can end on a high note after a day of horrible non-Michigan games.
Not that it will matter. Even with a loss, Bama will go to the title game just like last year.
I'm not really sure I want Bama to lose. If they do, and ND goes undefeated, we will 100% see the Irish in the MNC. Which would make me sick. Even if they do get blown up by whoever they face.
Uhhhhg..... Oregon???
Rose: Indiana vs. Oregon
Orange: Duke vs. Oklahoma
Sugar: Georgia vs. Rutgers
Fiesta: Kansas State vs. Boise State
MNC: Notre Dame vs. Alabama
I can't wait.
ND needs to drop substantially after this one.
They should but wont
Unless the Ducks lose they will jump ND tomorrow. They will get a boost in the computers from playing SC and pitt will dent ND computer ranking. The human poles in my opinion will significantly widen the gap between the other 3 unbeatens and ND tomorrow. triple overtime against a team that lost to youngstown state, a bad division 2 team
USC blocks the extra point to keep their deficit to a manageable (assuming Oregon finds a way to not be Oregon for a few drives) 16 points in the 2nd quarter. Barkley had his, "Well, I suppose that's something..." look on the sideline when they had the camera aimed at him...
Oregon looks unreal. Even after a huge negative play, they don't even seem to mind. They're absolutely certain they'll pick up 20 the next play and it won't even matter. And they do.
If LSU pulls this out, to hell with the bcs Oregon is no.1 in my mind. They straight shred.
Honestly, I sort of want ND to win out and play Oregon. Glup hehe
If Penn Sate still had Redd, they might actually be able to beat Nebraska.
LSU crossed midfield....good for them.
Over / under 2:20 left when Ducks score?
They only took 50 seconds!
It took some doing, but USC managed to cut the lead to 27-17 thanks to some good reads from Barkley. That being said, Marcus Mariota just set up Oregon inside the USC 15, and the Ducks scored on the next play. I assume Monte Kiffin is in the booth trying to devise some play wherein the Oregon offense is abducted by aliens on and end around at this point.
How much pressure is on QB when your defense allows scores in less than 60 secs!
that's fine...see no problem with that.. Denard got the last laugh and that is all that matters.
like he's working on getting the State HC position, when it's available.
Has Denard???? End of the day Denard and Martinez both drove the ball for game winning points against that vaunted MSU defense in the last few weeks!
no wonder Chip scores TD's instead of settling for 3
So he'd be sure of picking up a point on each exchange of possessions.
Love how excited the fox announcers get.
Not to score too quick! Defenses were confiscated at the gates tonight!
That is all
Funny, I was just going to ask the good Lord to save us because now Rudy is playing on NBC. Disgusting.
My lord Milliner is good at football
Milliner is your lord? :P
Is anyone actually watching Ok State and K-State?
I am, actually (well, some of the time - I'm also watching USC-Oregon). I hate CBS, its crappy announcers and SEC slobbering.
It seems like whenever I root for a team I normally don't like, they crap the bed. MSU, Pitt, and now Alabama looks vulnerable tonight. And of course Oregon is doing their annual collapse against USC.
please consider rooting for Northwestern next Saturday. Thanks.
USC is driving again, and it seems clear that Kiffin is just going to try to soften up Oregon with some good "f*ck you" run plays meant to gut the middle of the Ducks' defense, if you will, and Oregon has politely obliged. USC is about 10 yards from making this a 34-31 game.
That was he worst fake FG ever in LSU-Bama
I take it you didn't watch Michigan-Minnesota today.
How come no one talks about how awful monte kiffin calls a game against spread teams. I mean it's literally like he refuses to adapt, play nickel and dime every down. Alignments are off quite a bit too. Just curious. Lane might actually have something if he could get a competent d- coordinator.
Wow - KSU returns a kickoff for a TD and then OKSU does the same!
Both attepted fake FG's on 4th and long that had no chance of success!
Going for it on 4th and 1 on the 50 and throwing it... that's ballsy.
They had two receivers with only DB within ten yards of them. Easy throw outside and it's a guaranteed 1st down. Michigan could take notes on that.
Edit: Only one DB within ten yards.
WRs drop passes sometimes though, even routine screens. I wouldn't feel comfortable going for a throw in that situation with our WRs.
I don't know what's better (or worse), the low-scoring game with Bama and LSU or the game without defense in USC/Oregon. I'm rooting for a Bama/Oregon championship game just to see what the hell will happen.
I can't watch the USC Oregon game...are these defenses trying? ~1000 yards thru 3 quarters?
After the Oregon TD, USC returns the kick to the Ducks' 16-yard line. There are now over 1,000 yards of offense in this game between two teams. Actually, you would never know that you were looking at the 4th and 6th best teams in total defense in the Pac-12. No, looking at the stats, you would guess they were both middling...
USC now inside the 5, going to what is more or less their jumbo set on offense for a TD, and they succeed. 41-38 if the PAT is good.
Oregon and USC hit the over with 3 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.....considering the line moved 5 points, I am going to assume that EVERYBODY was on the over!
My hopes for BCS games:
Bama-Wildcats in the MNC game. Love to see Colin Kline against that D.
Oregon-ND in the...Fiesta? I know, I know, Oregon would be in the Rose. But I want to see if ND could stop that offense and I also want to see ND get crushed without getting a sniff at the title.
This Oregon/USC game is embarrassing. Literally no defense is being played. They aren't even trying.
Think about a potential nonconference match-up between Oregon and West Virignia.
Oregon would win 86-14.
This is getting patently ridiculous...
USC completely botches pass coverage and gives up another big play for a Ducks TD.
Barkley looks upset on the sideline, and I suppose I don't blame him - you're asking this guy to keep the Trojans within a FG of tying, not in the lead. Enviable position, to be sure.
I turn the channel to watch a few minutes of the Bama/LSU game and Oregon/USC score a combined 20pts... KSU/OKST are also testing the scoreboards at 31-17 heading into half...
I will say watching the Oregon and KSU games is like watching a college game, but Bama/LSU looks like a Sunday game.
Two Loss Les' squad is
Hang on, is no one watching UConn and South Florida on ESPNU? South Florida just got a huge interception with less than a minute left to preserve a home win and now the two teams are a combined 1-8 in the Big East. South Florida got its first two interceptions of the year tonight!
Oregon/USC - 14:23 4th quarter - first punt of the game for either team.
I was surprised they even punted there. Given how lethal Oregon's offense is, maybe teams should go for it on every 4th down against them to make sure they never get the ball.
Playing the same sport?
the 0-16 lions team?
No college team ever can beat a pro team...Period! Did you not pay attention to the other 1000 discussions going on this week thanks to Spurrier...or any other conversation about this topic ever. 53 pros are ona pro team, whereas only10-20 on an elite college team...and those 10-20 aren't all ready for the pros at the same time
Because we couldn't beat the Russians in hockey with amateur players.
And if 'Bama beat an actual pro team it would take a miracle as well.
Bad analogy.
Probably could have beaten the pistons. 6 drafted players on that squad, plus a few who will later. But basketball is different.
Spurrier thought they could beat an NFL team or two. Then he was chastised all weekend, as he should be. Bama is a hell of a team, but after five minutes of a pro game, if you can't tell a difference in the speed, the hits and the intensity then you aren't paying much attention.
USC has scored 45 points and are two poss. down!
Refs are doing their best to help SC's cause.
i think it's pretty clear now what Joe Tiller was talking about when he coined the term "basketball on grass"
Oh man . . . USC had a perfect onside kick but couldn't recover it in time (apparently) before it went out.
If Oregon can put up 55 points on USC, I am very curious to see what they'd do against Bama. That would be the ultimate speed/uptempo versus power/run it down your throat game. Not that I like either team, it would be nice to see K-state in the championship game, but Oregon/Bama would probably be the best game. I haven't really watched Oregon much and am surprised by how physical they are on defense and surprised how big their corners are and how tall their DEs are. I guess I always assumed they were smaller, but they aren't.
LSU took Oregon apart two years ago. I see no reason why Bama wouldn't do the same. Their defense is horrendous and Saban would find a way to stifle Oregon's offense. Too much speed AND size for Bama.
First off, that was last year, not two years ago. Secondly, what does LSU/Oregon of last year have to do with Alabama of this year? Oregon is a much better team defensively this year and way more physical from what I've seen. They have two CBs over 6'0". Their D-line is really tall. And, their secondary hits hard. USC has just as many guys that will play on Sunday as Alabama does and Oregon is having no trouble whatsoever scoring TDs on every possession.
Is Oregon really much better defensively? They've given up 51 tonight.
Looks like the ball moves when it hits the ground.
Good call, self!
If it takes this long....it has to stay with ruling on field. K State just scored to go up 3 scores!
Christ, even Michigan-Illinois 2010 didn't score this many points in regulation.
It’s too bad it looks like this won’t reach overtime. The way it’s been so back-and-forth, they might each score 100 points.
Meanwhile Kansas St is taking care of business and keeping a pretty good OSU offense to 10 points (7 were from a kick return). Barring an OSU-Iowa St debacle that team should be in the MNC game.
If they all run the table....scoreboard watching is going to be at all-time high. Previous opponents, especially common oponents records are going to be very important when it comes to the computers! Oregon will stay #2 behind Bama in both human polls and they play 3 ranked teams in the final 4 plus a re-match with a ranked USC in the Pac-12 championship game so not sure how they would not be ranked #2 in the computers as well.
Should be fun....also please Penn State....can you show up and beat Nebraska next week?
NDs best wins would be over Oklahoma (who K St also beat on the road) and USC (who Oregon just creamed on the road and would have beaten again in the Rose Bowl). Also, USC would be a 5 loss team. What do they have after that? OT win over Stanford with some questionable officiating at the end (Oregon would have also beaten them)? Michigan at home by one score when we practically handed it to them? BYU?? As tough as their schedule looked to start the year, if Oregon wins out ND won't have a win over a team in the top 15 most likely. Decent wins over Oklahoma, USC, and Stanford would be matched by the other two.
Personally, I think Kansas St. deserves the nod but would guess Oregon would get it due to playing 4 ranked teams in their last 5 games. Then Bama eats the lucky team.
Wow. I'm sure this has already been said, but how bad is USC's defense?!
and Oregon's, for that matter!
14-10 Bama with 3:35 to go in 3rd quarter!
Has a Boo-Boo? Not playing!
This LSU/Bama game is quickly turning around.
GOING NUTS!!!!!!
I always feel bad when Bama players make mistakes. I picture Saban sending them to the medical hardship scholarship office right after the game.
If Bama loses than I think the SEC is unseated as national champs with 3 undefeateds still left.
The polls will find a way to put the SEC champ(presumably LSU in this scenario) in the MNC game. Book it. KSU and Oregon would get shutout. We'll see if it comes to that, but if it does, there is no stopping LSU getting in.
edit: if Georgia somehow wins, they will not get in.
Geaux Tigers!
how are y'all pulling for LSU? You realize that may lead to an ND championship appearance?
I would think it would be K-State and Oregon, given how the teams are playing right now. ND might be SOL, which would be delightful.
K State and Oregon still have pretty tough schedules. We need all these teams to hold on.
I have already pretty much accepted that if ND goes undefeated they are in. The only mildly plausible scenario where they wouldn't is if 'Bama and Oregon go undefeated, but still... they have the edge over the Ducks in the computer polls and I'm really convinced that the humans will boost them to at least number 3 in the human polls by the end of the year... meaning they'd pretty much be in...
I'm a little confused by this. I didn't think LSU was that great this year, but maybe they are? Or maybe it really is that hard to play at night in Death Valley? Or is it just that Bama is having their first mediocre game of the season? A couple bad turnovers have really killed them. I can't see them winning this game at all.
LSU is 36-1 in nighttime home games under Les Miles.
LSU takes the lead!
Oh my god, this LSU-Bama game is absolutely amazing entertainment. This is like watching a college all-star game, except where the teams have chemistry and people actually care. A lot. Cuz Death Valley is absolutely electric. The crowd is nuts.
Alabama has had an easy schedule up to this point because they haven't played Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, and when they did play Mississippi State it was at home.
Also, Mississippi St is not good at football, as A&M demonstrated today. MSU had a ridiculously easy schedule.
'Bama is starting to come apart. I'm interested to see where this goes.
ND will lose to USC and it increases the chance Oregon goes to the NC game and the Rose Bowl opponent is easier and last of all it could unseat the SEC with no teams being undefeated.
Saban is being too conservative.
The redundant wasn't meant as a neg, just I think you could say that about Saban all the time.
Alabama if you lose this game please don't stumble again right at the end and wind up in the Capital One Bowl.
They've only got one more chance to stumble (Texas A&M). They're not losing to Western Carolina or Auburn.
We might get this LSU team in the Capital One bowl though...
Because Bama could still lose the SEC title game if LSU gets a 2nd conference loss. But the Tigers schedule isn't that tough either.
I do hope this game puts the "AJ McCarron for Heisman" story to rest right as it gets started.
They tell me that he knows this may not be their night!
So does a loss here knock Bama out of the MNC game? It would most likely send LSU to the SEC championship game and I can't see them sending Bama to the title game two years in a row when they don't win their own division. And is there anyway a 1 loss LSU team gets in over 3 undefeated teams? Wow, this would screw a lot up.
if you live in Manhattan, KS or Eugene, OR!
OR South Bend, IN
I think until everyone in the SEC has at least 2 losses, there will always be a case for an SEC team to make the title game. Personally, I'd love to see a KSU Oregon matchup, but the SEC can still play the strength of schedule card.
Can they, though? Who has Bama really beaten this year? LSU and A&M would be their only good wins until the SEC title game. The way that the SEC schedule works now, some of these teams never play most of the other contenders. It hurts their SOS argument.
Did not take long.
Will be in full effect. This will include endless arguments that a one loss SEC team deserves to be in the championship game over an undefeated team. It will also include some voters putting the team ahead of undefeated teams.
Total meltdown by Bama. Good lord.
.eliminates SEC from BCS championship if 2 of Oregon, ND & K-State go undefeated
I would take a one loss LSU team in the title game over ND. I would endure the continuing SEC lovefest instead of having to put up with ND fans.
Not me. Fuck that noise. If ND has to go up against either KState or Oregon they'll be destroyed anyway.
Les Miles is crazy.
I'm rooting for Alabama, but giving risk-adverse anouncers ammunition for their non-understanding of expected value is never fun.
I think Bama is done. This game could be the end of the SEC championship run. My biggest fear is that it puts ND in the title game. They have the easiest path to the end by far and you know the humans will want them in. I also could see Oregon stumbling in the Civil War. And in a one game playoff I don't trust any team over the huge horseshoe that ND is carrying.
Good idea going on 4th but absolute shit playcall. Wow.
Am I the only one who thinks the qb sneak is the dumbest play in football?
Yes. Well maybe in that situation, with a full yard to go, it's dumb, but when you need a foot, not goign backwards to hand off is a great idea.
You just gave Bama an early Christmas gift. Putting it back on your defense to hold them again....LETS GO DEFENSE!
Neither LSU or Alabama would be in the Capital One bowl. If we weren't going to the Rose Bowl we would most likely be facing one of Florida, South Carolina, or Georgia because I believe they would put both LSU and Alabama in the BCS.
Doesn't lose to Georgia or Florida in the SEC title game.
Wrong play call
Can they win at 'SC? The Kiffykinders don't look so good...
USC looks decidedly mediocre this year. Lost to a meh Stanford team. Embarrassed themselves at home against Oregon. Lost to Zona. Do they have a quality win this year?
Edit: Best USC win: over 5-4 Washington. Also their only win over a team with a winning record (unless Syracuse has one, but Big East). They still play ASU and UCLA and don't play OSU (NTOSU).
But is it possible to have a rematch against bama in a bowl game if they lose?
No way. They're sending 2 to the BCS, and as long as LSU wins the SECCG, Bama would get a BCS at-large.
If Georgia or an SEC East team wins though....well we really should go to the Rose Bowl
Bama, don't you DARE lose this game.
Even with the SEC love-fest, I don't think the voters/BCS could justify jumping a 1-loss SEC team over an undefeated non-Big East team. If two of Kansas State, Oregon, and Notre Dame finish undefeated and 'Bama falls tonight or later in the season, the SEC champ will be left out of the title game.
Do not underestimate the power of the EESSSSS EEEEEEEE SSSEEEEEEEE!!!
I wouldn't put it past them, but I don't think they can justify it, especially after the anger over last year's all-SEC game.
I need to go to a night game in Baton Rouge before I die, it looks so rowdy.
"oregon wins by 1 against SC"??
god dammit.
This went from being back in the drivers seat for the big ten title game and notre dame being out of national title picture at 7 PM to our chances being blown and ND being an Oregon or Kstate loss away from making it.
Agreed. Aside from the Michigan game today has been awful. Although the set up for the epic Indiana-Wisconsin showdown next week was amusing.
Not a good night. although what Oregon did to USC I don't see anyone on their remaining schedule who has a shot at beating them. Other then at TCU I can't see K-State being tested. Though Klein left the game, he was laughing on the sideline so I'd guess he'll be fine.
Best false start that guy will ever have.
Didn't see any movement. Check is in the mail from ND I think.
Wasn't movement, they said the players weren't set.
Arizona not looking good early.
While the Zona D did force a punt, they turned around and fumbled the return which UCLA eventually turned into a TD. So maybe call it 4.5 possessions?
Either way, no defense.
The false start rule needs examined. It cost Michigan a possible defensive touchdown today, it hurt us last week, and it just most likely cost Bama the game.
I've never really understood the rational for blowing it dead, unlike every other penalty where the play is allowed to continue so the other team can decide to decline or not.
Alabama is going to win. You just know it's going to happen.
Shit. Well...time for the lsu defense and crowd to step up.
So many choke jobs today. Why stop now?
LSU will shit the bed bigtime
It would be pretty darn funny if Bama marches right down the field here.
Where was this Alabama offense all second half?
Im actually pulling for Bama. I think they are the best team in the country by far and would dominate anyone on a neutral field. They have their hands full tonight, but some crappy NFL teams may have some trouble in Death Valley at night.
Bend don't break defense always works with a 3 point lead. ALWAYS.
Hey you know that defense that's been super effective all game? Yeah, let's mix it up and go into a shell.
What a perfect play call. Wow.
Might as well call this Choke Job Saturday.
Screen passed to death.
But Michigan won, so I'll just focus on that tomorrow.
God, I want a screen game like that. I miss the days when we could just slip out the A-Train and pick up an easy 10-20 yards.
well, its because we hadn't recruited well at tight end, fullback, and offensive line in many years. the A-train lines were huge, and were stocked with NFLers. Even the tight ends and fullbacks played in the NFL (Tuman, Campbell, Seymour, Askew, Shea, Joppru). Without those guys, screens dont work.
Also, your QB needs to throw screens accurately on a consistent basis. When we do manage to throw one on target to Smith, he usually makes something good happen.
YEAAAAA BAMA!
Un. fucking. beliveable LSU.
Why do teams always seem to change up what has been working for them on defense at the end of the game? it never works.
Agreed, but Bama changed their offense on that drive as well. They went up-tempo, spread it out a little more and passed the ball on every down.
LSU was pretty passive though I'll give you that.
60% of the time it works, none of the time.
At least the kicker has nothing to feel bad about now. Also I know no one would ever do this, but I have to wonder whether he should have taken a knee at the one.
The chances of giving up a TD drive w/ 50 seconds left are significantly less than the chances of not scoring a TD from the 1. It just takes a holding penalty, fumbled snap (remeber Henne vs ND in 2005?) and that plan is toast.
Why are people pulling for Alabama? I'm quite sick of the SEC love. I don't give two shits if ND gets into the title game because they'll be blow out either way.
Ehh I'm rooting for them because they beat the shit out of us. If they run roughshod over the rest of college football it makes us look a lot better.
I'd rather they not get a "15th" national championship and 7th SEC championship in a row. Who cares what they did to us? No one will take that into consideration when we're selected for a bowl.
Is Alabama. And them not making it and getting the hype, and recruiting help, benefits us.
And losing badly to Bama doesn't look as bad when they end up the best team in the country.
Oh, and to hell with Notre Dame.
How is that going to go when we're battling Alabama for recruits?
It'll hurt. For the dozen we go up against the Irish for annually it'll help.
I can't speak for everyone, but because we played Bama and got smoked I want to see it happen to other teams. I want to see how they do against over top competition.
I also want to see an Oregon vs Bama MNC game because of the wide difference in philospohy. Oregon is an offensive juggernaut who rarely ever gets stopped and Alabama is a mini NFL team that strangles the opposing offense to death. I think its an intriguing matchup.
I've lived most of my life in and around South Bend. I hate ND. I hate ND so much more than OSU or MSU. A lot of ND fans are essentially Lou Holtz.: they think ND is the best team in the nation every year. This is the same fan base that claimed they should be in the national championship game at 10-2 because they almost beat USC. I don't ever want ND having a shot at the title. Ever. Anything can happen in one game and ND is the luckiest team in sports. In 2006 I rooted for USC to curbstomp ND and I would do it every time. I thoroughly enjoyed the OSU beatdown of ND in that bowl game.
The short version: To hell with Notre Dame.
I can see that...but what fun is college football when a southern team constantly dominates? If Alabama plays Oregon they'll destroy them.
It is more fun to see the South win than to see ND win. And honestly I think Bama takes any of the three undefeated teams behind the woodshed. Death Valley night games are pretty much the hardest games to win in college football and Bama just became only the second team to ever beat Les in such a game (the other was also to a #1 team).
As much as I hate this SEC crap, Bama is easily the best team in the country. I don't think ND belongs in the top 5. And mostly, I expect Oregon to slip up at the end and K St could be missing their QB depending on what his injury was.
And come on, wouldn't it be fun to watch Oregon and Bama play just to see how that defense would stop the best offense in the nation?
For the last time, even if ND got there, they would be torn apart by either Bama, Kansas State, or Oregon. Why do you want to see one team dominate and the rest lag behind? Someone has to be the one to de-throne bama. We couldn't do it, but LSU had the best chance possible and shit the bed worse than sparty. Hell, they DID dethrone bama last year but the media bias kept them in it.
Can't see where Oregon is going to slip up now. They get Stanford at home a week after the Cardinal play Org St. Can't see Org St being able to stop them either. That would leave the Pac12 title game that will be played likely against USC at Oregon.
I'm from south bend and I cannot agree with u more.
Have you been watching this season? The fact that nd hasn't lost yet defies logic. I want them nowhere near the title game.
Do you really think they have a shot at winning it all anyway? Hell no.
You think Bama will destroy Oregon, but Oregon will for sure destroy Notre Dame? And what about Kansas State? Are you confident they'd destroy Notre Dame too? Maybe the Big 12 just sucks.
And what if they both lose?
Yes. I'm confident that any of those three would destroy Notre Dame.
If they make the championship game? Where they'd have to win one game to win the championship? And it's college football?
Who thought Alabama would win last year? Or OSU in 2002? Or Florida in 2006? Shit happens and I want ND as far away from that as possible.
Becomes scarily possible.
This too.
Yeah we would most likely get smoked in that game. I just hope Nebraska loses a couple of games to end the season and we make it to the Rose Bowl because we'd most likely end up playing an at large team like Boise St.
No chance Boise goes to the Rose an at large, the teams that could make it are the Oklahoma's, and Oregon State's and Stanford's of the world.
I was thinking that too, but all of those teams you listed will most likely end the year with 2 losses. I guess an at large SEC team could make the jump. Who knows...
They get taken. This is the Rose Bowl we're talking about.
Even though I predicted it just above, I'm still amazed it was that easy for them to march down the field. Les has got some 'splaining to do about his prevent D there.
What in the hell was that? And why did the clock stop?
We've seen some bad clock management this season, but that may have been the worst yet.
Les Miles is so bad at crunch time decisions.
And once again Les proves he has no idea how to coach a two-minute drill. Christ.
Well, that was everything last year's games were supposed to be. I'm glad I stayed up for it.
Tide.
Damn, that was something.
Saban looked very uncomfortable with that display of emotion from McCarron.
Why was McCarron all riled up?
not sure how that team got ranked
Well, Alabama just rolled out its own red carpet to the national championship.
Outside of maybe Oregon, there's not a team in this country that can stop them. Knowing Saban, though, I imagine he'll be able to craft a masterful game plan that will limit Oregon to under 200 total yards.
I want this game to happen. I really have no idea what will happen.
I'd assume Oregon would be held under 25 points and Bama would score around 30, but I really do not have any clue. Oregons offense is just so tricky and fast and that would be the key to the game.
In the Rose Bowl.
That was an amazing game... everything you could ask for in a college football game. It's good to know that in 2 or 3 years, Michigan will look like this.
I'm not understanding what's going on with Arizona right now... hmmm
I saw that score (42-3, UCLA) and did a double-take. Not so much about the 42 points for UCLA but the 3 for Arizona. Is Scott playing?
Scott is 10 of 17 for 57 yards, 3 carries for 5 yards.

Just when I thought this awesome day of football was over, there's another good match-up from the Pac-12. Woot!
for USC, they were clearly looking ahead to Oregon
Rich Rod's team getting absolutely waxed. 52-10 with 4 minutes left in the 3rd
Rich Rod is a good man and a good football coach. He tried his best at Michigan but it wasn't a good fit and didn't work out. Move on, like the rest of us have.
SDSU is leading Boise in the fourth quarter, 21-13. I'd like to see Hoke's old team win the league - they're currently a half-game behind Boise.
Arizona is absolutely getting rolled by UCLA 52-10 going in to the 4th quarter. Wow.
was getting too many flashbacks
