RR at Miami
If RR is let go, my hope for him is that he is hired at Miami. He does so well with recruiting now, can you imagine what he would do "in state". Then people wouldn't be able to complain about his recruiting any longer. He might even get Dee to join. How ironic would that be?
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:27 AM ^
you were posting that he was spotted in Miami. A bit misleading.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:48 AM ^
He's at Michigan not Miami
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:29 AM ^
No. I do not want to see Rich Rod anywhere but Michigan.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:35 AM ^
I love this coach and love this team!
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:29 AM ^
RR might get let go?
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:42 AM ^
Thanks for lightening my morning. I went to bed all relaxed that my Texans played like dumb shit again and was greeted by Dee Hart, EMO Rich Rod and Groban.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:31 AM ^
Technically, wouldn't this be considered OT? The OP does somewhat mention Michigan football, but the focus of the thread is really a hypothetical about Rodriguez coaching at Miami. Interesting gray area . . .
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:51 AM ^
to your 1,000,000 point bomb? Mods decide it was only a one day thing?
I was hoping it would at least last until the bowl game or a decision was announced. You were doing a fine job of policing the internets.
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:02 PM ^
Wow the days are feeling like weeks...I don't know if I can last till New Year's...
December 3rd, 2010 at 4:56 PM ^
Oh, but what a day it was! I felt like I was Denard's brother from a different mother, powered by Dilithium! Alas, all good things come to an end.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:31 AM ^
You need to CC this, lest everyone lose control.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:31 AM ^
It'll be interesting to see how this thread plays out
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:53 AM ^
how this threads out.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:31 AM ^
taking his talents to South Beach?
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:31 AM ^
What I really want for Christmas is for Rich to be instantly successful elsewhere.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:34 AM ^
Ohio State would especially love it since they play at Miami next year and his hiring guarantees them another easy blowout victory against a team with the initials "UM"
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:38 AM ^
Blah, blah, blah. Rabble, rabble, rabble. Discontent, discontent, discontent. Ignorance, ignorance, ignorance.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:54 AM ^
Not funny.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:35 AM ^
Miami is not going to wait till January to hire a new coach. Kind of a long time to wait for someone who may or may not be fired. Rumor has it they will hire a coach by next week.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:39 AM ^
what do you think we're doing?
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:12 AM ^
Miami has already fired their coach.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:10 AM ^
January isn't that long. Odoms, DRob, and a bunch of other guys who haven't RSed would certainly be interested. Throw in the pipeline he already has in Florida and take that away from Michigan and our class might just fall apart. It seems as if there is already a crack hopefully it doesn't get much worse.
December 3rd, 2010 at 4:36 PM ^
Then JH could bring back the California pipeline that we used to have and convice some of the kids he is recruiting to come with him. Seeing as how our class is ranked #30 in the country right now and his is ranked #8 I would be fine with that trade.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:35 AM ^
No offense to the OP but this was a dumb post. I will think about RR at Miami (YTM) if / when he is fired from Michigan. He is our coach until something changes and I personally hope nothing changes.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:38 AM ^
I have a feeling wherever rich rod goes next, assuming he doesn't stay here, he will come back to haunt Michigan. I think he could kill it down there in Florida.
Arrhhg... This is going to be a grueling offseason.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:44 AM ^
If Michigan fires Rodriguez, the university will be cursed so that everywhere you go on campus, you will hear "You Lift Me Up," playing oh-so-faintly in the background, and no-one will ever be able to discover the source.
Perhaps the haunting has already begun. I think I hear it even now . . .
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:57 AM ^
As I've said all along, I will make no assessment of said "haunting" until after the bowl game
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:38 AM ^
Hey.....after lots of research, I discovered the definition for "Michigan Man"
Michigan Man: Football coach who wins a lot of games and loses very little
December 3rd, 2010 at 12:51 PM ^
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:39 AM ^
Mgoblog: I wish I knew how to quit you. At least during working hrs.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:41 AM ^
The OP is a clear cut instance of someone who supports the coach rather than the school. I'm undecided at the moment between RR and (theoretically) JH, which is why I'd be a terrible AD, but one thing I am sure about is that I'm not on board with the logic of supporting RR even at the expense of the University (in this case, making us look like fools for firing him if he is instantly successful at Miami).
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:59 AM ^
1. Nothing is clear cut
2. I support RR because he is Michigan's coach. I support the current players on this team who bust their ass everyday trying to please people they shouldn't even worry about pleasing. I really don't care about the other nonsense that goes with it.
3. Are rumors, speculation and hypotheticals no longer part of this blog? If so, I missed the memo.
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:03 AM ^
I vote we bring in whats-his-name, make a serious financial offer to D Hart and move forward. We have done a pretty good job of making ourselves look like fools. Of course, one nice thing about JH - he doesn't have an accent, because we are awfully tolerant in A2, don't you know.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:43 AM ^
I think this post comes from the young person who looks like he's on RR's arm there in the avatar.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:45 AM ^
... Miami is going to have to fight Clemson for him.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:47 AM ^
Or Mississippi State after Dan Mullen leaves for Miami?
December 3rd, 2010 at 11:07 AM ^
agrees.
December 3rd, 2010 at 1:58 PM ^
If he isn't retained here I hope one of those two teams hires him the next day. DR decides to transfer and become qb after Miami's qb leaves after next year.
December 3rd, 2010 at 4:40 PM ^
you hope Denard transfers. I don't care what you say or think. You are not a Michigan fan
December 3rd, 2010 at 5:06 PM ^
It would be best thing for DR. He probably wanted to qb for Miami, but wasn't recruited at that position. So now he could play close to home, after transferring and after their other qb graduates next year. RR would be able to plug him right into his offense again for two more years.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:47 AM ^
If he gets booted here he becomes a great offensive coordinator somewhere south and high major.
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:49 AM ^
I hope he isn't let go. I can just see the newly hired coach having success at Michigan with Rodriguez's players as juniors and seniors...
December 3rd, 2010 at 10:50 AM ^
I know this is a stupid question but how do you upvote and down vote
not sarcastic at all
Thanks
