Not sure how reliable Reuse Recruting is but...

Video coming with Roquan Smith: "I'm not 100% confident in this...I'm going to see how I feel...I just knew I had to do something"

Frankly, this site could probably use some fresh blood. It doesn't seem like there are many new users anymore, and I'd imagine this is mostly because the longtime users drive away anyone who offers a new or different opinion.

This site is a wealth of great information, and seems to be heading down the path of catering to the washed up regulars at its own expense.

I feel for you, man, I really do.  It wasn't one guy, but 20+ people who took offense to you questioning his judgement in a very douchey way...and you happened to quintuple post it, which let them express their displeasure multiple times.

You sure can't win them all, and it certainly doesn't help when you start the race by running backwards.  Hopefully you can dig out of this hole fairly quickly.

Reports emerging that UCLA's DC (Jeff Ulbrich) is leaving.  Pretty crappy to pull this on NSD right after players sign.  In the case of Smith, he cited Ulbrich as the reason he chose UCLA

Committing based upon the coach. Clark commits to Hoke but not Harbaugh ... really. Mora greater than Jim? Almost glad this didn't happen. Id rather have guys that value Michigan and want to win for Michigan.

If he doesn't go to UCLA, the prevailing thought is he goes to Georgia, not here.

Also at this point I think Georgia is the best bet. The reason people think he hasn't sent in his LOI is because he want to stay close to home, and it's coming out now that UCLA DC and his lead recruiter is going to the NFL with the Falcons. So if I were a betting man, I'd say Georgia.

On that note, that's a really shitty move by UCLA and Mora if true. Wait for all these kids to sign their LOI's and trap them in their choice, and then later that day send their lead recruiter and DC off to the NFL, which they probably had no idea about.

I have no idea, but if you're thinking of Jerry Montgomery, I don't think it's the same situation.

He left for Oklahoma about 3 weeks after signing day, meaning he probably didn't know he was leaving until after signing day. That happens, coaches taking new jobs.

UCLA's DC is leaving the afternoon of signing day, but only after all their recruits have signed their LOI. Meaning he knew he was leaving, but instead of informing kids and letting them change their minds if they wanted since a big part of why they were going to UCLA was no longer there, he and Mora waited until it was too late for the kids to change their minds. Which is just shitty.

caught in the act. They were calling asking Smith to hurry and send in his LOI. Then when Smith's coach asked the DC if he was leaving he got an honest answer. At least the part where he didn't want the news broken on social media was honest.

Did Ulbrich confirm that he had an offer from the Falcons? “Yes, he did confirm that with us that he did have an offer. He was very candid and honest. He just hated that it broke on social media before he had the chance to call.”

It's all up to the school. A school could grant the player ther release, like Ohio U did with Caris Levert after Groce left. Or they could say no.

At that point the player has three options. The first is stay at that school. The second is transfer out like any normal player would but then they'd have to sit out their freshman year.

The third is appeal to the NCAA, which is what Eddie Vanderdoes did. Vanderdoes was a 5 star DL recruit a few years backed who signed with ND, but then decided a few days later he wanted to be closer to his sick grandma in California so he wanted to go to UCLA. ND wouldn't grant him his release and he didn't want to sit his freshman year at UCLA, so he appealed the NCAA, and they approved it, so Vanderdoes was eligible to play as a freshman at UCLA.

You don't "know" anything. UGA has just as many national championships in the last 60 years as Michigan does, and 1 more national championship than UCLA.

And they've been significantly better in recent years than our own beloved Michigan. Since 2001, when Richt took over, they've won 10+ games 9 times and finished in the top 10 seven times, with 1 losing season. In that same span, Michigan has won 10+ games only 4 times and finished in the top 10 three times, with 3 losing seasons.

By all reports, even though Richt has never gotten over the hump, he has won with class and integrity.

A former cfb player once told me that Richt is a good guy and just an awesome coach to play for. Sure it was just one guy, but I've heard other things to that effect. I've read an interview with him and he definitely came off as a good guy with values in place. I think he's one of the good guys despite being in a sleazy conference.

I know a preacher/psychologist in Georgia who's worked with some of the football players and he absolutely raves about Richt, says he's the best person he's ever met around an athletic department.

He's old enough to have worked with earlier coaches there and I'm sure he's had contact with players in other sports, but it's only Richt that he goes on about.

OK, that's also just one guy. My one guy and your one guy now make two.

They don't call it the University of Caucasions Lost among Asians for nothin'!

Seriously though, most any elite school has its fair share of Asians these days. Tough to get minority-based scholarships, though, because so many of them target "under-represented" minorities (African-American, Native American, Hispanic, etc.). Asians are very well-represented (some would argue "over-represented") minorities in higher ed.

Did you ever have to make up your mind?

Say yes to one and leave the other behind.

It's not always easy, it's not always kind.

Did you ever have to make up your mind?

Somebody should write a song about that.
