Shits given about this particular subject still hovering close to zero.
That said, this is a good article and much more than mere click-bait. Good thread.

"They would have stashed him (Kiffin) in Alabama in some Motel 6. He would not have been front and center for people to see him in the football complex. That's not Nick Saban's style."
It is as I had imagined then and coordinator and assistant life under Nick Saban is basically like a John Le Carre novel, except perhaps without the threat of an Eastern bloc nation wanting you out of the picture.

How do you "hide" links like that in the text?
January 13th, 2014 at 5:33 PM ^
Use the link button.
January 13th, 2014 at 6:02 PM ^
Type some stuff:
Drag the mouse over the word or word you want to have appear as a link. In this case, I shall use "stuff".
Click on the "Links" button, which will be up there ^^^^ in the "Reply" dialog box.
Paste the URL into the URL Box. I also like to click on the "Target" tab and select "New Window (_blank), which will force the link to open in it's own window/tab.
Optional, but I like to do it. Click "Switch to plain text editor" and put Underline Tags just before the <a> and right after the </a> tags, thusly: <u><a> voila, link will be underlined </a></u>. Underlining the link makes it easier to see - less "hidden". If hiding it is your goal, omit the Underline Tags.
This is also detailed in justingoblue's Pretty Posts Sticky
January 13th, 2014 at 6:29 PM ^
but there's a lot of stuff like that covered in my Pretty Posts Sticky, if you or anyone else hasn't seen it.
Edit: And now I see LB linked back to it, so I'm both self-plugging and redundant. Yay.

My way approach?
Looks to be about as tall as Saban too.

It may be a tad early to put Hoke above Carr and Moeller.

But can be, and is, are very different things. I agree that he can/could be/become a better coach than Carr or Moeller, but I don't think he's there yet. Not even close. They were both good game theory coaches, and in game coaches as well as leaders of men.
I like Brady Hoke a lot, I really do, but some of his in game management (clock, and use of timeouts mostly, but also turtling before the EOH) has been a bit lacking IMO. Those are all things that can be fixed over time and with experience, and I really hope he does. We could have a rampaging beast of a program if he works out those issue, and keeps a top notch staff (which I think we're getting close to, but not quite there yet).

that Hoke will chew the players' ears off if they under perform?

I don't care why/how Nussmeier came here from Alabama, but is Balas really credible on this topic?

Is Balas credible on any topic?

OH SNAP
January 13th, 2014 at 8:42 PM ^
But he's not pulling this out of his butt here. He's quoting Eli Gold, who is as good a source as anyone's likely to get outside of the Alabama coaching staff itself.

Does anybody know where to find Washington game film when he was the OC? I ask this because although I believe he will bring some principles from the Alabama offense, I believe the better indicator of the offense we are going to run will look more akin to the Washington offense he was running.
January 13th, 2014 at 6:19 PM ^
Not entire game film, but I saw some highlights on youtube.

Agreed. I watched this clip:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VuJ2VcCKUg
You see a little fullback, a bubble screen, some wildcat and a deep completion.
I watched the clip of the Holiday bowl vs. Nebraska and they had Locker doing zone read and running.

This makes sense. I was one of those people who questioned why he came here. I wondered if it was Brandon or Hoke, still do a little who made it happen I couldn't understand why he took a lateral position at a lesser football factory (sorry but in the past 10 years it ain't even close). Myself and others wondered if he was brought here by Brandon as a coach in waiting. This article makes that less likely. He still could be, but it makes sense now why he wanted out. Still a little surprised he didn't take a head coaching job, but who knows there could be many reasons for that decision.
To me, this article makes the hire even better. Now we just need to pray that he stays for 3 years, at least.

Hiring Nuss as OC looks better every day. Things are looking up!
January 13th, 2014 at 7:21 PM ^
Nussmeier is good enought to be a HC today. We will be lucky to keep him for one season.
January 13th, 2014 at 7:44 PM ^
being that Nuss might walk before this next season is complete?

...but someone really should mention it.
Just not me, because I'd punch him in the face knowing I had hundreds of thousands of Michigan fans who support me 110%.
January 13th, 2014 at 6:50 PM ^
where does the extra 10% come from? Do I need to rip off an arm from a Sparty fan and throw it in there as well?
January 14th, 2014 at 10:54 AM ^
If that arm is Valenti's, then you have my full support.
January 13th, 2014 at 6:16 PM ^
I am excited about the hire too. However, we do not know which way this will go. I know I have read on here from a couple of posts that Nuss has not had full control over the offense at either of his last two coaching jobs. Therefore, I am wondering how confident we can be that he will come here and be able to be in full control. I am not saying he is incapable. I am only saying that this makes me a little nervous that he has not had full control over an offense and will here. I am excited about the proven track record for teaching quarterbacks.
January 13th, 2014 at 6:18 PM ^
Someone should post this on RCMB. They're convinced that Michigan isn't an elite program and that Nussmeier must have been forced out because no coach would make a move to Michigan voluntarily.
January 13th, 2014 at 7:40 PM ^
We have to show it on the field. As much as it pains me to say it, for now MSU is the elite program.
January 13th, 2014 at 8:04 PM ^
I'm confident going forward. Very confident.

They have been to two BIG championship games already. Had back to back 10+ wins and 13 wins this year. They are elite as far as BIG is concerned. Of course, things can change very quickly and do hope UM will contribute mightly to bringing about that change.
January 13th, 2014 at 10:33 PM ^
I'm beginning to think MassBlue is actually a Sparty troll.
The posts celebrating Sparty are eerily consistent and always around this concept and what could only be the worst self loathing of a Michigan fan.
