Recruiting info.

Per land of 10's Brandon Justice, his sources tell him we will be receiving another commitment this week not named Ruiz, or Anthony.

Michigan had an outstanding week of recruiting last week. Despite losing out on 5-star offensive lineman Isaiah Wilson, who committed to Georgia, the Wolverines were still able to land two early-enrollee commitments from 5-star wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, and 4-star wide receiver Tarik Black. The heat is on, as Michigan sits at 22 commitments, and will be looking to add at least seven more recruits to this already-loaded 2017 class. One commitment announcement is already scheduled for Monday. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) 4-star center Cesar Ruiz will announce his decision at noon ET. I, along with everyone else, would need a meteor to hit Ann Arbor to even contemplate the idea of Ruiz not choosing Michigan. Some serious things would need to happen overnight. But as of now, it’s a 99-percent chance for the Wolverines to land Ruiz. But that shouldn’t be all Michigan lands Monday. A trusted source clued me in on another big week ahead for Michigan. There is the possibility that 5-star running back Najee Harris finally announces his decision, along with 4-star recruits Drew Singleton (LB), Deron Irving-Bey (DE), Eno Benjamin (RB), … and the list goes on. The source wasn’t able to clue me in on which of these players it will be, but it had 100-percent confidence that another addition to the class will come sometime this week that isn’t already scheduled – and LB Jordan Anthony is scheduled for Thursday. Again, this is fully expected to happen sometime after Ruiz’s announcement Monday. But things could change, as they always find a way to in recruiting. But until I get word on that change, expect to Michigan to make second addition on Monday.

I assume this would be the case. If it actually came down to pressure from his coaches due to job openings at Georgia, then he did not make a 100% confident decision. Reminds me of one of those SEC recruits who committed to one school to flip near or on signing day only to drive Mama insane and refuse to sign their letter of intent. Kids whose peers give that much pressure to sign somewhere where the kids' interests are not put first can lead to extremely volatile recruitments.

I say this knowing I may not know the whole store as these are mostly rumors at this point, but if this is the case then the fact that almost 2 whole months are left in the recruiting process (with him not being an early enrollee) means that the door is not completely shut.

We had Ross very early and have always been  looking very good for Anthony and Singleton. The complaining Simmons did about the coaches not showing him enough attention probably reflected reality. He was not a priority then and we're not expanding our recruiting board now.
